We stayed there for 10 nights a family of 5. It was a wonderful holiday. For the benefit of the reader I will write these review in categories :
1- location: Sahl Hashish is a new development in Hurghada, about 20 miles south. It is so beautiful and tranquil , the sea is fantastic, a heaven for snorkeling and swimming. the hotel is average size, with very secure enclosures.
2- the hotel: very good size swimming pool with loads of activities near the beach, served with a bar for snacks and drinks. There is another pool near the restaurant with a Jacuzzi and more quite atmosphere, also with a bar for serving drinks and snacks. The beach is private equipped with the usual activities for the red sea. The rooms are decent size with very good amenities , very clean with comfortable beds.
3- the food: you will not be hungry at any time , there is a reasonable choice of food with good quality, the hotel chefs will always go an extra mile for you to enjoy your food.
4- the staff: this is probably the strongest asset of this hotel, the staff are wonderful and always willing to help and solve any issue for you.Special thanks to Mokhtar, Mena, Khalid, Maged and Ayman for the wonderful service. The animation team has got the patience of a saint when dealing with children and they spoil them all the way, they also try their best to keep everyone entertained and happy.
5- summary this is a super hotel for a super holiday

Room Tip: try to upgrade to a chalet, it is worth it

We have just completed a memorable experience at this resort. We are a family of five booked through teletext holidays between 22nd and 29th July 2014.

First time to Egypt and couldn't have chosen a more family friendly resort. My Grandson Amari spent his 8th birthday here and his birthday beautifully executed by the restaurant staff .

On our arrival Terri ensured that we had personal attention and all the relevant information we would need during our stay. Throughout she checked on our comfort and and satisfaction..

Hassan (restaurant manager) was very attentive, with a friendly and professional approach at all times...

Finally Khaled Fathy (General Manager) managed to remember my name and paid personal attention to ensure that our stay was comfortable and enjoyable.

Convenient on-site pools and adjacent tot he sea great room service. We would certainly recommend this property.

We (family of 5) stayed for 11 nights from 18th July and from the minute we arrived were made to feel relaxed and comfortable in this beautiful hotel. The staff are just amazing and go out of their way to make your holiday perfect in every way. We received a complimentary upgrade to our rooms and had the most fantastic sea views, lots of people praise the chalet rooms and we agree they are lovely but we loved the views and our rooms were spotless, spacious and cleaned to a very high standard every day by Gamal who was wonderful and made towel creations every day for us as well as making sure we had extra pillows and water every day. The front of house manager saw us almost every day and was keen to make sure everything was ok , you don't get this personalised service everywhere and it makes such a difference. Food was plentiful and replenished all the time with many dishes cooked and prepared fresh to order , no way would anyone go hungry here and Mr Hassan the restaurant manager finds the time to talk to everyone and is the perfect example of what excellent customer service is all about. My son and daughters loved the fresh pasta and the pasta chef Mohammed was great with them. The waiters were all fantastic can't remember all their names but Mahmoud , Khalid, Taha and Kamel were some of them !! The entertainment crew worked their socks off every day were fab. We had read some comments on shortage of sun beds but never had any problems and there were 5 of us and 5 friends joined us on day 4 of our holiday so we were a big group and the towel guy/ lifeguard always found sun beds for us. The main pool is so big that it never feels crowded and there is a smaller pool and jacuzzi as well although we only used that on 1 day. The beach is lovely and snorkelling is amazing.we went into Hurghada a couple of times , it's about 30 minutes and the hotel has a very reasonably priced shuttle or you can get a taxi.
All in all a fantastic holiday and we will make sure we return

Room Tip: Sea view rooms have the best view. Chalet rooms are ultra modern and brand new

We've just returned from a week at the old palace & it was great, soooo relaxing. Our chalet room was luvly, very clean and spacious. They clean the rooms on a daily basis. Food was nice with lots of choice. The man on the pasta bar is luvly & made us some tasty dishes. Wine wasn't great but the tequila sunrise cocktails went down a treat though. Beach is luvly but you have to get down there by 7am to get a bed as all the bloody Russians take over. The hotel is amazing but the only thing we found is its a bit far out from anywhere and is about a 40minute cab ride to the main centre. Would we go back? Defo. If you don't like rude Russians steer clear of this hotel though, it's 3/4 Russians unfortunately and the children are as rude as their parents. We were determined to not let them spoil our much awaited holiday though.

Room Tip: Chalet rooms are very spacious and situated right next to the small pool.

We stayed here for 2 weeks from 20 June - 4 July and from the moment of our (approx. 11pm) arrival we were looked after royally. As has been said on these pages many, many times before, the aspect that really sets this hotel well above others is the incredible staff who all (from the highest to the lowest) genuinely go out of their way to make sure that you are properly looked after. I am not about to give a written report of every detail of our holiday, but suffice it to say that - a) the service was excellent (always), b) our room (a deluxe) was very spacious and kept immaculately clean throughout our stay, c) the food was plentiful, always had a very wide selection to cater for all tastes, and was constantly being replenished (there was no way that anything would ever "run out", d) the A.I. drinks were fine - beer as you would expect in this part of the world - red wine was very drinkable (didn't try the white) - spirits not as at home, but worked very well in the various cocktails - the fruit juices were amazing & probably the most refreshing drink to be had. Anyone who only wants to drink, say a whisky, as in the UK would I'm sure, soon get used to the "different" flavour, but "for the price" you really couldn't complain. To be honest, there was so much food (and because we had no intention of joining in with the 7.00am rush for a sun-lounger) we didn't bother with breakfast - got up at our leisure and then made our way down to the "Sea Breeze" bar by the pool in time for the "snacks" to arrive which then served as our breakfast - sometimes had a small lunch & then our dinner in the evening. (Just suddenly remembered that we did actually think that quite often the lunch menu was slightly better than the dinner). The Jacuzzi pool & bar, we thought, were a little bit unfortunate because it tended to create a bit of a "clique" - the chalet room being in this area & the occupants of those rooms seemed to consider it "their pool" & I'm sure this isn't actually the intention; for one thing, it's not really big enough for the numbers involved & also the main pool is really big with plenty of room for everyone. (Sorry; didn't really mean to moan about that, but that's just the way it was during our visit). Back to dining - our main tip would be to time your visits to the restaurant later so as to avoid the "mad dash" from guests with a different culture to ours - as already stated - they will not "run-out". The hotel overall is superb and when, in due course, the entire Sahl Hasheesh area is fully developed it will be virtually unbeatable. I say this because, at the moment, there is very little else in the vicinity and so not really anywhere to go for an evening stroll - this, of course, is not the hotel's fault in any way. Overall; fantastic - would we go back - of course.
