“Fantastic lovely clean hotel”
Reviewed 20 May 2012

We stayed here second week in may lovely and hot although it can be a little windy nice when you are out of the pool but bit cold when you get out. When we got there after a two hour delay we was given the option of having dinner even at 11 at night while they sorted our bags for us. This was our second time to a first choice hotel in Egypt and it was exactly the same lovely clean hotel with lovely staff and friendly lifeguards. The waterpark is fantastic for people of all ages and kids section with slides there is also another kids section of the pool down by the end if the restaurants which we didn't realise till the end. We had room 6047 which had a lovely big pool with stepping stones and jacuzzi pools which by looking at other pools was the best one right outside the room. A waiter comes round during the day asking if you would like drinks and water is filled up everyday there are fridges in the restaurants where you can get extras bottles. Lovely choice of food and restaurants although the kids didn't like the ice cream there are take away containers in some where you can take your food away if you like you can also buy a bottle of coke and alcohol to take back to your room. The only annoyance was the reps coming round by the pool asking for boat trips massages etc but if you politely say no they will ask you everyday but are nice as will say you are breaking my heart. We went to a show next door which was a light and water show but was really long and boring and kids got fed u p so we went which was a waste of 30 pound although they had better shops than our hotel with lots of Tshirts ornaments bags etc. If you walk past this hotel you will see go carts and behind that is a mall with a supermarket and some nice amusements for the kids. We was a bit disappointed with the beach as it had no fish like sharm l sheikh and lots of jellyfish being pulled out by the lifeguard. There is a really big lazy river and beach type area near the food court with paddle bots for kids to play in. The food is lovely although a lot of flies so we always grabbed the melon as soon as it was out, there is so much stuff to eat even for my two kids who are the fussiest eaters in the world. The weather was always beautiful and warm only one cloudy morning but the s un burnt it off within an hour. Huge choice of pools and slides, rarely had to wait for the mats etc for the slides and no trouble with Mosquitos I would definitely recommend it 100 percent you will love it. So many restaurants although kids seemed to like the Mediterranean the best probably cos they had chips except for lunchtime when we had to go next door or food court which has less variety and not as much mainly chips, kebabs and pizza. Room was always clean we left a top on first day for cleaner and got a heart towel on the bed. Also had no trouble with upset stomach at all. Make sure you take your flip flops or stay on the grass areas between the slides as it gets extremely hot. Great hotel.

Room Tip: You don't need to pay for an upgrade they always have plenty of rooms. Bottom bungalows have no...

Theres 6 restraunts to choose from buffet style with plenty of food to choose from even for the fussy eaters, and they also cook from a bbq outside also,Which changes daily. Theres lots of bars to choose from so its never crowded. Because theres 16 swimming pools theres no rush for sunbeds when i stayed in may. With quite relaxing pools away from the main pool. Its not in the thomsons brochure yet til 2013 so hopefully the price doesnt rocket as id love to go back here. The hotel runs a bus every 30mins from the hotel to the beach, you can actualy walk there in 15mins to the sister hotel. Five star plus in my eyes nothing at fault and very friendly staff.

Alcohol

Stella, sakara local beer, cocktails very strong

Transfers

25mins from airport

Excursions

Quad biking in desert is a must for £30 3hrs trip

Snorkling on boat loved this trip took to 4 snorkling spots and also a beach £ 30 for 8hrs trip (snorkling gear supplied) booked with red sea tours was cheaper than thomsons rep

If you fancie a trip to luxor or cairo,in my opinion cairo was the better of the two trips.

Currency

No need to change you money you can pay in English £££

When landing in hurghada theres a fee of £13 for a visa to enter the country.

The staff get paid very little and do a very good job in the baking heat. I took pound coins to tip them then they bend over backwards for you.

I have Just came park from the Jungle Aqua Park Hotel, we choose this location primarily for the sun, we were told we wouldn't be let down and we weren't. We went as a family of four me, my wife and two Boys. I can only back this as a 5 Star Rating which complements the huge variety of restaurants with limitless amounts of varying cuisine suitable for all, most notably the Italian and Asian Plant 100% of no doubt. the remaining restaurants had huge continental splendour. Having been to Morocco I thought prior to going the people and staff would be as similar and pushy, how wrong, I have nothing but praise for all those regardless of what capacity of staff at the Hotel, Pleasant, Polite, engaging and a huge can do will do attitude to help in anyway, from the Bell Boy delivering and collecting Luggage, the cleaner for the immaculate day to day lay out of the family room to continuous cleaning of the 21 pool surrounds, to those who served regardless of need. tipping is expected but not once did I feel pressured to tip, there was never a moment where somebody hung around to be tipped. One of the most satisfying activities was the Aqua Park Guess what, No Cues, Loads Of Inflatables, loads of slides and Loads of fun. The Toddlers Aqua Pool brilliant for those who are either to light or young for the more hair-raising bigger slides. If your expecting a Beech then don't be to alarmed because it's not on the door step of the Hotel, The Hotel runs a continuous bus Shuttle to a shared beech at another Hotel, The Gem is that its still part of the All Inclusive package and what you see is what you use, pack lunches can be book as well. The Hotel Animation team have a job to do and try all sorts to get you involved but soon leave you if you don't want to. You Have the onsite Spa, Scuba Dive, Snorkling, and Pyramid and Sphinx tour folk who are on your for the first day or two. If You are willing to endure a 8 hour round coach trip then crack on. Even though we went early/Mid May the temperature did exceed 40 Degrees Celsius be aware of soaring heat. For me and my family this was one of the best.

Room Tip: Don't need to, all rooms have pool views and very tranquil at night.

I have just come back from a weeks holiday here with my parents and my boyfriend. Could not recommend it enough. Great weather, great water park, choice of 22 pools, great food, very friendly staff. Not one single complaint. This is a perfect place to go for a mixture of relaxation and fun ... cant wait to go again next year!!!

Although you couldn't fault the staff for the tireless work they put in, somehow the whole concept didn't work for me. Our 10 year old daughter enjoyed the water park but we were disappointed that the majority of the swimming pools were not heated and were too cold to swim in.Our room was excellent and was kept very clean by the houseman who made animals out of the towels which was very amusing. The resort is mainly full of Russians and Germans with a smaller proportion of British and numerous other European nationalities. We found the Russians to be very loud, rude, arrogant and ill mannered. They have no concept of queuing or being polite. We found the restaurants to be very much repetitive and after 2 weeks we were tiring of the same things all the time. I particularly didn't like the free for all at meal times when it was every man for himself resembling a cross between a bun fight and school dinners! it certainly wasn't a relaxing experience. There was little entertainment at night and the childrens entertainment was geared around the German children.
On the plus side, the staff worked incredibly hard and often a small tip ensured that you got a little better service. We booked through First Choice and our rep was brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble. However, the Thomson flights from Gatwick was cramped and uncomfortable with absolutely no in flight entertainment at all. A miserable 5 plus hours.
We booked an over night trip to Luxor which was fabulous and I strongly recommend it for the sightseeing.
Overall the hotel was just too large and impersonal and was directly under the flight path of incoming planes which woke us on several occasions.
Neverthelesss, we enjoyed the weather and our room 2020 was at the far end away from the restaurants and the main noise so was quiet at night. You have to be aware that this is a very large complex and I stayed there for 2 weeks and it wasn't until the last day that I meet someone who had been there for the same 2 weeks, who worked in my building!

Room Tip: Rooms away from the restaurant area are quieter at night.

Went here for a week at the end of April and we loved it. Went with me, my husband, two 13 year olds and two 15 year olds and we all had such a great time. Staff are great with the kids and very friendly. The resort is very big which we liked as we wasnt stuck in one place and could walk around, theres lots of pools and sunbeds, and it is all kept very nice and clean.
I was a bit worried by other reviews which said that staff hassled you around the pools trying to sell excursions and spa treatments. They did come up to you but only around where the slides were, they never came upto us around other pools and never disturbed us if we was sunbathing but as people have said a simple no thankyou a couple of times works.
Bungalows were lovely and spacious, you could slide the doors shut in the middle to make 2 rooms, ours had 5 beds altogether one being a very high bunkbed and there was only 3 of us in there, fridge was filled with water every day, there was also a hairdryer in every bathroom and the cleaners came round every day, we just left a dollar on the bed every day as a tip.
Food was ok, kids had cereal, croissants or pancakes for breakfast. I would have potatoes, toast and omelette, they will fry the eggs if you want them to. For dinner they would have pizza, chips, chicken burgers, hotdogs but was alot of other choices, chicken, rice etc..
The water slides were great, no queing at all, and alot of time was spent here, they have a little beach there, which had a wave machine and rubber dingeys for you to go in.
We booked the quad excursion with momo in the park who is by the restaurants for £30 english pounds each and £15 each for the two 13 year olds. He promised us that we would all definately get to drive our own quad knowing their ages but when we got there they said that they do not let under 16's drive one on their own, so the two 13 year olds ended up having to get on with us and the two 15 year old girls had to get on with two of their team. Also we wasnt told to take sunglasses, so when we got there we wasnt allowed to go on them unless we bought their sunglasses from them which were about £3.50 each, if you take your own they must come around the side of your eyes to protect them from the sand. But apart from that it was great, went in our own buggy first, then on the quads, then a quick camel ride, you could also go on the horse and the donkeys which i didnt do as i felt sorry for them.
Have seen a few reviews about Dana Beach not being that nice but this was one of our most favourite days. We got on the bus that stops outside the hotel about every 30 mins and it only took about 5-10 minutes to get there, there were quite a few jelly fish but little kids were touching them, apparently they dont sting. My husband and the kids had a go a windsurfing which they all loved, they also went in the little boat that gets pulled along by the speed boat, my husband did actually get thrown out of it so be warned you have to hold on tight, but you wear a life jacket and its not very deep and they also loved this, the man also took them all right out in the speed boat to a small island and back for about 400 egyptian pounds which is about £40, while i had a lovely sunbathe on one of many spare sunbeds.
We went to a strip of shops which were just near dana beach, which i will never do again. They come out to you and keep on and on at you to go in their shop, when we said we wanted to have a look in the other shops first, they started to get nasty, its all rubbish in them but the girls wanted to get bracelets for their friends, we ended up leaving after only going in about 5 shops.
We also had a walk down to the shopping centre which is only up the road, you will get taxi's bibbing to see if you want a lift but we just said no or ignored them. Theres clothes shops etc there and a supermarket, but there prices are the same as ours in england. Theres a little fun park thing there with machines and a rodeo ride there etc which was good. Theres a McDonalds there too, there prices were about the same as ours in england but the burgers and the chips were very big.
Kids have had such a great time here they got to know all the entertainment staff and loved the shows of an evening even though some of them were a bit silly, they then went to the little club which started at 10 every evening which is where reception is. Anyway all in all we have had such a good holiday here that we are already planning on going back again next year!
