Premier Le Reve Hotel & Spa (Adults Only)
Ranked #2 of 221 Hotels in Hurghada
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 13 April 2014

We have just returned from a truly relaxing and luxurious week at the Premier Le Reve, a hotel we would recommend to any couples in need of some rest and sunshine.

We had never visited Egypt before and I admit to having found the whole airport arrival process a little scary- there was no real organisation and the passport control/ visa situation was very unpleasant. We booked our own transportation from the airport to the hotel, via Blue Sky travel, which was very reasonable and someone was waiting for us after we collected our luggage. The roads in Hurghada are unbelievably unsafe- potholes, no lane structure and the surrounding area is primarily hotels or barren desert land, some of which is patrolled by police/ military. However, the Premier Le Reve is situated in Sahl Hasheesh which is a gated complex about 25 mins away from Hurghada itself and as soon as you enter the complex, things change dramatically- for the better! The area is still under development yet the landscaping and grounds are very well kept- you feel safe!

On arrival at the Premier Le Reve, our luggage was taken for us and we were greeted with a cold towel and asked to sit in the spacious lobby whilst they checked our information.

Booking a deluxe room meant that we had an amazing pool/ sea view room and the biggest bed imaginable! The bathroom was also huge (although the shower looked a lot more impressive than it actually was!) Previous reviews suggest there is not much between a standard and deluxe room however we saw into a few standard rooms and were pleased we had the extra space. It also meant that we had access to the Executive Lounge, which has been referred to in a previous review as 'the billy no mates room' and yet we did not feel this was the case. Yes, it can be quiet in the lounge itself but you also have access to a separate balcony and can enjoy the drinks and canapés overlooking the pool/ sea; the surroundings are very luxurious and the staff so attentive, especially Mahmoud who served us every day (the cappuccinos served here are to die for and somehow better than anywhere else in the hotel, despite the machines being the same everywhere!). With a deluxe room you also have access to the Skypool and Vitamin Bar- we used this on the one day we had which was windy and cloudy and had it to ourselves! Perhaps it will be more popular in the winter months.

We went down to the pool every morning any time between 9 and 10 and found a regular spot to the left of the main pool, around a smaller pool which had double sun loungers and offered a nice sea breeze, which we were very grateful for some days! The Recreation team were very friendly and provided towels and any assistance you needed. All areas are served by amazing bar staff who quickly get to know your order and top you up throughout the day, without you even having to ask. Fresh fruit is served at around 10 and your sunglasses will have been cleaned by 11- little touches that really make you feel looked after.

As other reviews state, there are staff from the Spa and nearby Dolphin Aqua Centre hanging around all day and this can be a pain, especially as you settle in the first day or two. Once they recognise you and know you are not interested, they are polite and leave you alone but you are aware of their presence every day.

The beach offers easy access to a coral reef and if you take your own snorkelling equipment you are guaranteed to see some fabulous fish.

The food and service associated with the hotel we can only praise:
In the main buffet restaurant you are sometimes shown to a table, other times you are ok to find one yourself and you are quickly provided with water and offered a drink. Breakfast, lunch and dinner offer a wide selection of foods and a permanent 'bakery' stand which has the freshest of loaves. The dessert stand looks impressive but on closer inspection it is a range of jelly based products and cream- the ice cream stand however, is very nice! A more smart/ casual dress code is requested for the evening with men in trousers and most ladies were in a dress with heels.
We ate at the Mandarin Chinese, Ossiano Seafood and Bella Italian restaurants, all of which were amazing. We also enjoyed a few lunches at Ossiano the seafood restaurant which made a nice change from the buffet- it is either not common knowledge that you can have lunch there as part of the all inclusive package or people preferred not to as it was never very busy.
The drinks menu is extensive and each room has plenty of soft drinks, tea and coffee facilities and plenty of bottled water- even provided in the bathroom to clean your teeth. You are never left feeling thirsty!

We found that staff did not expect tips yet when they were offered them, they were very grateful. We tipped the bell-boy upon arrival and at the end of the week our room cleaner and a few of the bar staff and waiters (amounts varied between 50- 100 Egyptian pounds). We found that everything was priced in US dollars- both in the hotel and the airport- and in hindsight we would have taken these rather than Egyptian pounds.

There are a few shops on site but we felt we were hassled a little too much in the 'bazaar' style souvenir shop. There is a swimwear/ bag shop and a leather/ fur shop, though this never seemed to have any customers (but next to it you'll find a table tennis table- a fun way to get out of the heat!). Although the hotel carries out 'fogging' to get rid of any mosquitos, I was bitten quite badly around the pool bar on our second night- there is an on site pharmacy and although it is quite pricey, the pharmacist was helpful.

In terms of evening entertainment, some themed nights are devised along with live music and singing from Pete who performed some great acoustic numbers. The bar staff help to liven up the atmosphere but if you are looking for more than a cosy evening sat around listening to music- you won't find it here. You can hire a shisha from the pool bar in the evening for 10 USD.

We cannot fault the staff at all- they have a great team here and everyone seems to 'suit' their role. We saw the hotel Manager a few times during our last couple of days and he was very polite and asked about our stay.

The week overall offered us the rest and relaxation we needed along with plenty of sunshine that did not disappoint. We overheard many visitors talking about previous visits to the hotel, some having been five or six times which proves its quality. For us, the experience was just what we needed and we would recommend the hotel, without a doubt. My only hope is that when the new terminal at Hurghada airport opens, it brings with it an element of organisation and the tourists are treated within it like the valuable assets to the area they are as to get to the paradise that is the Premier Le Reve there is no avoiding it!

Room Tip: Deluxe rooms- worth the upgrade!

This is without doubt the best hotel my wife and I have stayed at. We holiday three times a year with Thompson, always all inclusive and always five star. We hope to return in the new year.year. Totally a great holiday from start to finish - well done all from cleaners to general manager.

As with so many other reviews , this Hotel has it all. The staff were amazing. Look out for Tariq who helps with your towels, beds and even cleans your sun glasses. The pool side bar.. Azem works so hard and Melad cannot do enough bring round your drinks and water. The food and beverage manager was there morning noon and night and always had a smile and was such fun.

The Manager seems to be there 24/7 always wanting to make sure we were happy with everything.

The only slight comment, the evening entertainment was early and could be more varied. The main buffet restaurant sometimes a bit to much the same but the Gala night was fabulous along with the Italian Restaurant. Will I go back ? YES ! If you want to be pampered / relaxed and chilled. this the place.

Returned to the UK on 07th April after two weeks at this beautiful resort. This was our first trip to Egypt and we were not disappointed. From the moment we arrived until our departure everything was perfect and the staff couldn't do enough for us, and on that subject we would like to pass on our thanks to four members of staff who we thought were marvellous, Elsayed our house keeper, Abdo on the beach, Mohammed, the pool bar and beach drinks man and Achmed in the Turquoise Restaurant.

We have already booked our return in April 2015.

Room Tip: We stayed in a Deluxe room on the third floor overlooking the sea/pool and it was perfect. Well wort...

If all you want from a holiday is a decent room and a sun lounger under a blue sky, then this hotel will probably appeal to you. You will be able to spend your days by the pool and get a tan. However, if you also expect a nice setting, consistently attentive service, pleasant bars and restaurants, or a beach in the usual sense of the word, then you will come away rather disappointed.
Let's start with the positives. The rooms are a good size and have virtually all you could wish for, with the exception of a decent-sized wardrobe. The food is OK, but after a few days the buffet in the main restaurant starts to look familiar. You can book three themed restaurants per week for free to add some variety (and pay extra to go to a couple of additional ones). We tried the Italian and the seafood restaurant - both were very good and provided excellent service. The garden area around the pools is attractive and the waiters from the pool bar come round regularly to supply you with drinks. You can, of course, also go to the pool bar yourself - where you will receive friendly and efficient service. And in the evening there is the 'Long Bar' upstairs, where the service is also excellent.
I'm afraid I am running out of positive things to say. I had had a look at Google Earth when we booked this hotel, but I was still shocked by the location when we arrived. There is a large fenced-off building site on one side of the hotel and the shell of a half-finished building on the other side. At the front of the hotel there are piles of rubble and cable rolls associated with work on a new road, which apparently has been abandoned for the time being. There is (coarse) sand at the waterfront - the 'beach' - but an unattractive reef area of some 40 metres in width prevents you from entering the water there. To get to the sea you need to walk along a jetty over the reef, which, however, ends in water which is around 2 metres deep (fine for good swimmers like me, but unsuitable for others - like my wife). The alternative is to seek out a more sandy stretch a bit further along the seafront promenade. Anyway: the setting is very poor, to say the least.
There is also a shortage of sun loungers if the hotel is reasonably full, which was the case when we arrived. People tend to reserve the sun beds with their towels etc. first thing in the morning and we had to wander round for quite a while on a couple of occasions before we found an empty one. This is an issue particularly if it is windy as most people want the shelter of the buildings.
Onto the restaurants and bars: The main restaurant is a large, cold, and unattractive place with many 'no man's land' areas in terms of service. You could perish at your table and chances are that nobody would notice until the end of the shift. This is a management problem, rather than the fault of individual waiters, but the end result is a service standard which falls well short of 5 stars. The two bars in the building are also very unattractive. Added to that, the 'entertainment' in the upstairs bar consists largely of annoying techno beats coupled with equally annoying laser lights. By contrast, the two themed restaurants we visited were pleasant and, if you are lucky enough to bag a table on the terrace of the main restaurant, you will also find this much better than the indoors area.
Another couple of points about the service: the 'turn-down' service is a bit of a joke. You will be asked whether you need anything, but if you ask for shower gel or a fresh towel you will probably be told that you will have to wait until the next morning. There is a mini bar in the room, which you are entitled to use free of charge. That's all very well, but ours was not replenished once during our 7 days there. I do not rate that 5 stars either.
There is a free minibus shuttle to Hurghada twice a day (once in the afternoon and once in the evening). The ride takes around 40 minutes and takes you through a concrete jungle of 'Las Vegas inspired' hotels, building sites, and derelict buildings. At the end the Hurghada marina awaits you - quite pleasant in a Disneyland kitsch sort of way. The main shopping area is a short walk from there, but do not expect too much.
Snorkelling off the hotel jetty is OK if you have never seen proper reefs. You will come across a variety of small fish and a few colourful corals. If you want to see the real thing, you need to go on a snorkelling trip to the outer reef area (by the island you can see from the hotel). The guy at the Dolphin Water Sports place on the beach can arrange that for you. The trip I went on was excellent (- the little boat was called 'Magic Lamp'). You might want to haggle over the price, rather than accepting the first offer, but my trip was worth every penny.

Thankyou Mr Fouquet and all the staff at Premier Le Reve.
We enjoyed a 10 night holiday in March, our room was kept impeccably cleaned by mohammed who was courteous and conscientious. We had a deluxe room which entitled us to use the executive lounge which we found to be quite and a slower service than the lobby bar next door.speaking to Mr Fouquet we suggested that two waiters serving within the lounge would help.
On the subject of Mr Fouquet you see him patrolling the grounds wishing everyone good day asking for feed back.
On the food topic i don't think your get better in an all inclusive in Egypt.
Drinks are fine, beer, wine are enjoyable (don't expect sauvignon blanc). Gin was as good as Gordans and mixers are from the coke cola company.
The waiters are pleasant, helpful and sometimes cheeky, which has you smiling especially when they take off your cockney accent.
Pete and Biddy entertain you about 4pm everyday with their guitar and singing which is a welcome, it makes you get up and walk to the bar for another drink. exhausting!!.
A final note is the jewellery shop run by max, purchassed some earings, which are far better than dress earings in the uk and don't make the ears go green, great buy.
Average age of couples here are probabally sixty but don't let that put you off if your younger the bar upstairs has chart music played by the DJ to the eary hours.

So if your looking for a chilled out holiday where your waitered on hand and foot, then this is the place for you.

Thanks again Premier Le Reve

Just returned from Premier Le Reve and had a fantastic time, everything is just perfect, the rooms are impressive, the food is to such a high standard and the staff are wonderful, genuine people.
I would thoroughly recommend this hotel, after travelling to Egypt many times this hotel is by far the best we have stayed at.
We had no hassle whatsoever and felt very safe, well worth a visit.
