“It's not getting any better....!”
Reviewed 14 April 2010

My partner and I stayed at this hotel at the end of Jan/Feb and found it far from finished and NOT entirely as the brochure alluringly implied. (ie Entertainment night was: One girl strangling a violin, playing "Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow"...!!) However, the staff were trying to provide the best service for their guests in the circumstances, and we found the food excellent. (Much better than some of the 5*hotels we've stayed at in Sharm). The hotel seemed to have lots of 'potential' to be a great hotel.....

We understand there was only about 88 guests at that time, but guests were well behaved, and different nationalities were getting along well together.

We do recognise many of the complaints that we have read though, and when we took up several points with Thomsons at the hotel & when we got home, we had a call from them to say that their agents had gone to the hotel after many such complaints and had found "no problems".... and we quote "It is your word against our Reps"... They did offer us compensation of 10% off our holiday in vouchers, but upped that to £200.....!!!
We had initially considered returning to the hotel, but having read the reports since, it is certainly not improving and sadly we will not be rushing to go back there under the circumstances.

The Management and Travel Agents need to listen, and take action on these genuine complaints.

As a very young hotel we are open to constructive critisism as we really do want to learn and grow from any mistakes we may make. Our Guest Relations Manager and her team are tasked to speak to all of our customers at least once during thier stay to understand what we are getting right and conversly what we must do to improve to ensure all of our customers have the holiday they wanted. Whilst our customers are staying with us, if we should cause disappointment, then please, tell us, at the time, this gives us, as a management team, the opportunity to rectify matters where ever possible.

My views echo that of BazmanYorkshire!

Lovely hotel, great staff BUT.....majority Russian.

The atmosphere and behaviour of the other guests was what you would expect in a 2* hotel - not a 5* A La Carte resort!

Kids throwing rocks in the pool, playing football and roller skating around the lobby - none of which was challenged by the staff or their parents. Having said that, the kids were probably better than the adults - felt like we were on an 18-30s holiday.

I would not recommend this hotel!

The staff were great, warm, friendly and in need of some guidance but always a smile on their face! The mix of guests were predominantly Russian 90%, Others 10%. The Russians seem to find it very difficult to handle a luxury all inclusive holiday desination! This made it appear they were rude or even arrogant, I think they were just overawed by the plentiful food and drink which they seemed to pile on their plates with gusto and then leave it. The old saying about 'kids in a sweet shop' comes to mind. The hotel boasts a fabulous reception area, which is truly amazing. Unfortunately this tends to be used by the Russian children as a playground!! roller skates! Not what you would expect in a so called 5* hotel? There is a small bar that seats probably no more than 24 people!
When we visited for a relaxing chill out week to be pampered with massages, a choice of 7 restaurants, beatiful poolside setting, fabulous beach and the ultra all inclusive service I didnt expect to find a half finished hotel, only one side is open for residents, the lights are on but there's nobody home!! The sun shone, thank goodness, if you didnt get up at 7am to reserve your sunbed by the pool you didnt get one! Too many guests and not enough sunbeds ( and the hotel is only half finished!!) the beach was more akin to sharpe shingle than glorious white sands. There are not 7 restaurants? there is one main restaurant 'Turquoise' which is all inclusive 100% the remaining restaurants (4) are only 15% all inclusive on a one week stay! that is, you have only 1 night all inclusive thereafter you have to pay £10 per person per visit! and the Sushi bar you have to pay for as its not all inclusive! The brochures make it sound absolutely fantastic its just a shame that its not as described. We travelled with Inspired Luxury Escapes who must have an arrangement with Thomson's. We paid extra to be upgraded to supposedley the best room in the hotel. We discovered from speaking with the hotel staff that there are only 3 standards of room, standard which face out to the back of the hotel away from the pool, Superior and Deluxe, but we were advised that there is very little difference between these two rooms, we paid an extra £60 each because we were particularily keen to have a sea view balcony so we could sit out in the evening or morning and have drinks overlooking the sea (sad romantic!) we were on the ground floor at the back of the pool!! therefore a complete waste of money.
A number of people have written and advised that the hotel is lovely, the staff are great, etc and it is and they are but this doesnt make it a 5* luxury hotel! at best its a 4* luxury resort hotel. Thomson's and Ispired Luxury Escapes need to get there act together and put the facts (truth) clearly to the customers and charge accordingley.
We met some nice fellow UK holiday makers but we were definitely in the minority, but most agreed that the attitude of our fellow guests impacted on their enjoyment and you tell me which 5* luxury hotel you go to where you have to get up at 7am to save yourself a sunbed or where diners visit the dining rooms and bars in shorts and cut off tea shirts?? I have just returned from the Premier Le Reve hotel, and it is clearly not a 5 star hotel for a number of reasons:

The hotel is not complete yet so there is building work going on, espcially near the pool area facing the beach as they are building suite rooms there nex door to where guests are accomodated.

The workmanship in the hotel is of a poor standard, fire doors very ill fitted and not working.

There is no enough sun beds around the pool and 90% of the sun shades are not working, you need to get up at around 7am get a sun bed.

The beach area is very poor, the sea is very shallow and no fish to see, there is building work all around thehote at both sides.

On a positive note the food was really good and the al a carte restaurants were excellent.

The drinks in the bar are all local drinks no premuium drinks you have to pay for these.

the toilet around the pool are unisex and there is only only 2 toilets which you have to go through one of the restaurants to use.

The beach restaurant is very nice for lunch and dinner.

The staff are friendly and are doing an excellent job in poor circumstances.

The executive lounge is a waste of time for guests in superior rooms as there is no bar and the drinks are the same as the other bar.

I was in room 1146 next door to the building work.................dust and dirt everywhere!!

Thomson holidays never told us about the building work which is on going if I had know I would have gone to a different hotel......................so beware!

entertainment is very poor at night and during the day......................however the live music around the pool during the day was nice.

I am writing to Thompson as my 2 week stay was almost exactly as the review called "so wanted it to be nice"
Don't go if you are expecting 5* it's 3* at best except for the pool furniture!!

Hotel is located in Sahl Hasheesh village. It is around 40 minutes from New Hurghada by shuttle bus. Being on the beach You can see lot of hotels that are sill being build. In my opinion this is a place for people who look for peace and quiet. At the moment there are no shops around. The hotel consists of two wins. One of it is closed for tourists because is not ready yet. The hotel is brand new and I see that there is lot of work for managment and staff to learn and improve but for now it is a very nice place to stay and relax. If You have got any questions write me: andrzej.sidorowski@interia.pl (I have got photosof the hotel that You may like to see)
