“Premier Romance”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 October 2011

Stayed Nov 2010 late review. Excellent Hotel, small and elegant, very posh, the decor was magnificent, great interior design. Could not fault the staff with there friendliness and attention to detail. The sea view rooms were amazing, you can really sit in the bath and see the sea, what a touch. Rooms were cleaned to a very high standard. Food was excellent but you could get bored if staying for more than 1 week if you like a little action in the evenings but it was fine for us. The Indian restaurant is a must if you like Indian food, if your favorite indian food is not on the menu they make it for you. Very big portions and just so so so friendly. Pool on the roof was very quite as most people were on the lovely private beach. Hotel was not very busy during our stay. If you want a holiday that oozes lots of class, then this is the one for you. Not good snorkeling close to the beach but if you swim out about 100m there is lots to see. This is a new resort and building work is going on in the distance but does not disturb your holiday. A quite resort but growing all the time. Would love to go again and see how much the resort has changed over the last year.

Room Tip: Go for the sea view rooms, worth it.

My husband and i have just returned from a 1 week visit to Sahl Hasheesh where we stayed at The Premier Romance. What a beautiful hotel!! From the moment we arrived to the moment we left we were treated wonderfully. The decor is the first thing that you notice, the beautiful furniture in the lobby, all the way through to the sumptuous bedrooms.
The staff are all trained to a high standard and nothing is too much trouble for them, unlike some hotels where you feel like they are doing you a favour. There are a few to mention that really made a special effort such as Sabri and Omar on the beach, every day the towels are put out for you and nothing is too much trouble. The restaurant staff like Mohammed, Ramy the chef, Ramadan in the bar area were all lovely. Maro from the spa was another lovely girl, the treatments were great!. Mohammed who cleaned the our bedroom was wonderful.
The hotel is in a fantastic location, very quiet and just what we wanted, if you are looking for bright lights and entertainment, then this is not the place for you, but if you want excellent service, beautiful surroundings and to be treated like a valued guest then this is perfect!!

Room Tip: superior rooms are the best with lovely views of the sea.

As a stressed out workaholic, I chose the Premier Romance for a quiet, relaxing getaway to recharge my batteries. I booked direct with the hotel and Mohamed Heidar's efficiency and professionalism from day one of the email booking process, instilled me with confidence even before I left the UK. Upon arrival I was made to feel so special by the other Mohamed at the front desk :) and this continued throughout my 7 day stay. The staff at the hotel are incredible. They have such a positive, friendly, can do attitude at all levels. I wish I had time to name each and every one but it's just not possible, suffice to say many, many, thanks to all the Mohamed's and Mahmoud in the restaurant for their attentative service, Rami and the excellent team of chefs for their culinary delights every day, Alaa for his great Mojito's, Ibrahim for looking after me at the pool and beach along with the work horse Sabri, Mohamed, Kristina and Rosa in the Spa and all the management team for having the vision and expertise to recruit and train such a great team. The hotel is small and intimate, beautifully decorated and located perfectly next to the lovely pristine, well kept beach. The room was spacious and lovely with a beautiful balcony and sea view. There are some pebbles when you walk into the sea in places, so a pair of reef shoes wouldn't go amiss. The reef is still young and so the coral formations are small and limited but this didn't stop the enjoyment that the beautiful, clean ocean had to offer. You can book a snorkelling/diving trip from the hut on the beach and enjoy the underwater delights just offshore. The diving was good with an abundance of sea life. The area around the hotel is still underdeveloped, which added to the tranquility for me. For those wishing to have a large choice of places to eat and drink outwith the hotel, this is not the place for you. You must go to the Palace just a 5 minute walk from the hotel - it's a beautiful combination of arches, water and flora/fauna - it's lovely to just stroll around (it's free). Although the hotel is situated on a promenade which offers a nice stroll,) your food and beverage requirements will be limited to the hotel. I was on an All Inclusive package which entitled me to dine in the main restaurant only. The Italian restaurant on site incurs a $15 supplement for dinner which was well worth it! A Chinese and Indian restaurant are opening this month which will add to the culinary experience. I would, however, suggest to the hotel management, that it would be an enhanced benefit if this hotel offered the All Inclusive guests the use of each of these restaurants on one occasion at no extra charge (even if this cost is packaged in) and further visits a $15 charge. Many people have the perception that All Inclusive should be just that, and this would eliminate any confusion. The hotel does have some teething problems but under the control and vision of Mr Namazi of a Marriot background, I am sure these will be worked out quickly. The management team are keen to listen to suggestions. The pool area is somewhat clinical and would benefit from some screening and greenery from the adjacent building along with an improved drinks service. Better communication on what is included in the All Inclusive package ie options of where one can eat lunch, drinks included etc, signage letting guests know what the theme is for dinner in the main restaurant (which changes nightly) giving them the option of eating elsewhere if the offering that night doesn't appeal and signage on the wonderful vegetarian/fish/meat canapes and salads sometimes offered on the buffet point would all add to the positive experience. Travellers please remember you are in Egypt and as such the food does have an Egyptian flair. The main restaurant, although buffet style, looks and feels like a high class restaurant. There is a fabulous selection of salads, cold means and/or canapes each day along with a soup selection. The fresh baked breads are incredible. The hot stations always has a meat and fish selection along with vegetables. In addition, there is always a special hot dish daily cooked on the hot plate in front of you and this can vary from, fajita's/kebabs, homemade burgers to calamari (which was delicious!!). There is also a pasta station where you can have it cooked to order. If you don't require spices it may be an idea to mention this to the chefs otherwise they will prepare food Egyptian style. Pizza and chips people need not apply although they sometimes offer chips :)
Part of the attraction of this hotel for me was the dress code - no shorts, swimwear in the restaurant. Travellers please understand this is a quality hotel with quality standards and as such this should be respected. I witnessed some guests being perturbed at being asked to 'get dressed' before entering the restaurant. I wonder how many of them would go out to dine in a nice restaurant at home in a pair of shorts or cut off trousers??
I had a fabulous time here and I will return....soon! As a solo traveller, I was made to feel comfortable and incredibly safe. Although it is not expected, I did tip (in English a £5 here or there) to thank the incredible staff for their attentiveness and exemplary service. For a workforce that earn so little but yet offer so much, it was the least I could do! Many, many thanks Premier Romance for a fabulous holiday! Helena

Dear Helena,

Thank you so much for sharing your holiday impressions and experiences with other travellers on tripadvisor. That you have experienced a quiet and relaxing getaway in a tranquil surrounding is all we could wish for. Your positive feedback about the food in our main restaurant really pleases the entire Food & Beverage team. I am particularly happy that you have mentioned that the team is eager to listen to suggestions for improvement - It truly is only by feedback that we can make changes for the better based on the experience of our guests. We will certainly have a look into the issue of our All Inclusive description as well as information signs about the daily theme nights in the restaurant.
Once more, thank you very much for your warm words about our property. We look forward to welcome you back very soon.

We stayed here for two weeks in september and the weather was superb
Arrived late at night and were greeted by Henry the duty manager. Our bags were taken straight to our room which was beautiful overlooking the sea. Food and drink was then brought to our room as we had missed dinner in the dining room. What fun the next day when we discovered there is a blind in the bathroom which rises on pressing a button and you can have a bath or shower looking out to sea!
Mr Namazi Mekkawi the GM introduced himself at breakfast the next morning with the offer to do all he could to make our stay enjoyable even to the extent of purchasing marmalade for breakfast the next day.
The dining room was spotlessly clean and the waiters attend your every need, Mina our favourite waiter always had a smile and could not do enough for you, I do hope the restaurant manager (whos name I have lost so sorry) has become a father by now as his baby was due to be born the beginning of october.
The beach was amazing lovely sun beds and cristal clear water teeming with fish, like walking into a warm bath. Ibrahim was in overall charge of the beach and pool and what a good job he did nothing too much trouble. Omar looked after us as regards drinks on the beach and Sabri was always blowing up our airbeds or giving us clean towels.
All the people who work at this hotel seem to be happy and this in turn conveys a lovely atmosphere and makes your stay seem like home from home infact you dont want to leave!
Next year my husband and I will have been married for 40 years and we are hoping to celebrate the occasion with a return visit as we can think of nowhere better.
During our stay we visited the Premier Le Reve a sister hotel to the Romance what a nightmare that was horrid hotel and rude staff, so glad we were staying where we were, they could learn a thing or two from the Romance.
A big thankyou to everyone who made our stay just perfect and looking forward to seeing you all again next year.

We stayed here during Sep 11; the hotel facilities are superb....pool, sauna, bedrooms, food, beach, beds etc etc. The GM Namazi understands the 5 star hotel business well and is undertaking a training programme to take his staff efforts from excellent to exceptional.

Personally Mohammed in the restaurant and Eid from housekeeping are stars.

Our personal favourites at the hotel were a) the Movenpick Mango ice cream b) the evening bus to the marina is a must and c) the cocktails !

Premiere romance is definitely one of the best hotels in Egypt. The staff was very kind, friendly and helpful, always asking if everything is OK .IBRAHIM the pool attendant ,HASSAN the lobby guy and the room service guy on the first floor whose name i forgot where all polite and helpful. The beach is one of cleanest in all of Hurghada , i am saying these because i visited other hotels. The rooms were well equipped, clean, with huge beds and with a fantastic sea view.In all , if you want to have a quiet , relaxing holiday in Egypt you should go to PREMIERE ROMANCE.
