Food disgusting with no variation in any of the restaurants
Hot beer and fizzy drinks
D&V for the whole duration (2 weeks)
Earrings stolen from my room
Room and corridors smelt of sewage
Powercuts up to 5 times per day
Boyfriend lost his band and we were told it was £30 for a new one
Mouse in room
Blood on pool towels
Dirty room and bathroom towels
Wake up call on our last day was 45 minutes late
All Russian people (majority really not very friendly) not one other English person
Majority of staff rude, but some were helpful
Cocktails disgusting, if you wanted a decent one you paid £2

NOT A FIVE STAR AT ALL

Room Tip: Avoid this hotel

I have just returned from a weeks holiday to Hurgharda and had booked the Sapphire Suites and was expecting a 5star hotel. Upon arrival the outside of the hotel was incredibly disapointing compared to other hotels where people had been dropped off to. The reception area was awful. Brown sofas which I think used to be orange and looked about 50 years old greeted us with worn out rugs. Very dingy indeed. Then we were shown to our room and I have to say, whilst very spacious it was very shabby. Stained carpets, hardly any skirting boards. There was a view out to the very unpretty gardens and the bathroom was hideously ugly and dated, We were very very disapointed.
The restaurant was a further disapointment. Whilst the hotel was shabby and worn it had actually been cleaned, but the restaurant was filthy! The food was discusting. I have travelled all over the world and this is the worst food you could ever imagine, No way could i eat in there,
The pool area was actually OK but definately not a 5star. The hotel and food must be a 2star at most and thats being generous! We did go and expolre the other hotels over the road which are part of the golden 5, and whilst they were better it was only margial. The pools and aqua park area there were badly kept. Broken tiles were everywhere and again, not a pretty area at all. Certainly not a 5 star.
We complained to our booking company and transferred to the Titanic Beach hotel which cost an extra £80pp, but was absolutely beautiful. Pool area and beach were magnificent. The rooms modern and clean and the food was amazing.
On the plus side for the Sapphire Suites, the staff were always polite and helpful. Unfortunately, I would not reccomend this hotel or any of the Golden 5 hotels. You are much better off paying slightly more and enjoying the modern, well kept facilities of another hotel.

Room Tip: Book another hotel altogether!

I booked our holiday to the Sapphire Suites before reading any reviews, which ended up being a blessing as if I'd read them first I probably wouldn't have gone. I stayed here in February 2012 with my 14 year old daughter and mother. The staff are absolutely fantastic you really can't fault them. The reception staff are so helpful, our shower was broken when we arrived but it was repaired the following morning, no problem! Amgad was really good to us, be nice to him!

Yes the hotel is full of Russians and yes they are horrible, arrogant, rude people, but don't worry about that because you'll find no one likes the Russians over there whereas if you're English they can't do enough for you.

I will say that the food is quite poor, it's never hot and if you're fussy it could be quite challenging to find something you like, that said the rolls and soup are good and the pancakes in the morning are lovely. The service we received in the restaurant was 110% It couldn't have been any better, Mohamed was brilliant, I wish I could've brought him home with me!

Our room or as another reviewer has said - 'Suite' was very surprising, it was very clean a little tired but very comfortable and so much room.

Sapphire Suites is not on the beach as we were lead to believe when we booked the holiday, it's on the other side of the road through the Golden Five, about 10 - 15 minute walk.

The exchange rate is much better over there than here so bare that in mind when you're getting money for your holiday.

If you do decide to stay here then you'll have a wonderful time, I plan to go back, maybe see you there!! X

After reading the reviews we was a little bit worried about our holiday in Sapphire Suites, we worried for nothing!!!! What a lovely hotel. The rooms or shall i say suites were lovely a bedroom, living room, bathroom and small area with a fridge and kettle, we also had a good sized balcony. The food in the main restaurant had plenty of choice and the waiters were very helpful and polite,Mohamed made us so welcome, there are also various bookable restaurants (free) where you can eat, we tried alot of them, French.German,Oriental,Asian,Italian etc and enjoyed them all.Ali,and the silver haired waiter(i'm sorry i cant remember his name) and ALL the staff in the German restaurant made my husbands 50th (Mr Steve) Birthday very memorable.Mohamed, our cleaner, made a beautiful cake out of towels in our room.Yasser, the waiter in the Topaz bar, bent over backwards for us, running round trying to find seating for 8 of us and continually kept us in supply of drinks. As there was only a handful of English we was treat like royalty, most of the guests were Russian and that was the only down side they are loud and rude to all the staff. Thankyou to all the staff, from reception to the waiters to the cleaners to the pool staff to the security and gardeners for making our holiday so pleasureable, and we will see you hopefully in November.

We had 1- days in February at Sapphire Suites and plan to go back again in November.
There weren't many English people, and we were treated like royalty by all the staff. Nothing was too much trouble.
The food in the Main Restaurant was really good, with plenty of choice. However there were also other, bookable (free) restaurants and we tried six of them. They were great too, especially the Italian one and the sea food restaurant.
Our room was lovely, a suite, consiting of two rooms, a bathroom and a balcony. the room was spotlessly clean and have everything we could possibly have needed,
There seemed to be a lot or entertainment every night and throughout the day - we didn't use it, just because we wanted to relax, read and do absolutely nothing. The pools were good. There was one at the Sapphire suites as well as several others and a water park within the complex.
On the down side, the building looked rater tired. A little bit of TLC, in the form on painting a decorating would have made first impressions rather better.

All in all, a fantastic stay, staff were brilliant - nothing was too much trouble, and we plan to go there again.

Room Tip: Ours was fine. It faced the main road and overlooked gardens.
