My husband and 15 yr old son have just returned from a week in this hotel and have had a very relaxing week. The hotel is very big, but as yet only half the rooms are occupied as one wing is yet to be finished (although it isn't obvious). There were a wide mixture of nationalities and different cultures staying which must be challenging but we were able to get sun beds by the pool each morning and there are plenty free on the beach. I would imagine that when the remaining rooms are completed, it may feel very busy.
The room was well equipped with a very modern bathroom and good furnishings - much better than we had experienced in other hotels in Egypt.
The pool area is well laid out with the large infinity pool being split into different sections which meant there was always an area if you wanted to swim quietly or take part in the various pool activities. We didn't visit the spa for treatments, but did use it on the last afternoon to have a shower before leaving and the changing rooms were very disappointing and definitely needed some attention.
The food was buffet style in the Palm restaurant and was of excellent quality with plenty of variety so I cannot agree with other reviewers who said it was the same all the time. The staff are obviously trying very hard to provide a good experience (not always helped by the way in which some of the guests helped themselves!) and there were several food themed nights during our week. In addition to the buffet there is an Italian and a Mexican restaurant on site, neither of which were busy whilst we were there and the Mexican is definitely worth a visit.
There is an entertainment team in the hotel with the usual kids activities, water polo, aqua gym, volley ball etc. if you like that sort of thing but equally if you don't, they didn't pester us.
We found the staff to be very friendly, courteous and helpful, they didn't expect to be tipped but there were several of the waiters and the pool bar tender who went out of their way to be helpful. It was a nice touch that the Resident Manager was visible and happy to chat to guests as he made his rounds of the hotel each day.
