Another fantastic stay. We've been here numerous times and never been disappointed. Adults
only is a bonus. All the staff are friendly. Everywhere is spotlessly clean from beach, all public areas, and our room was cleaned to an excellent standard by the very curtious cleaner Metwaly.
The food was first class, and the service in the restaurants superb, thanks to brothers Mostafa
and Sayed and also Abdeen and Mostaff Ammin and the boys from the pool bar Ohmar and M Abdou. The professional entertainment was good especially the acrobats and the animation team superb thanks to Mr Mizzo and his team especially Mido and Gigi and new members of team who
did just great. Our evening drinks service always excellent thaks to Mahmoud.

We had a fantastic holiday, as soon as we arrived we were thoroughly looked after and this continued throughout our stay - the staff could not have done anymore for us. Upon arrival we were greeted with a refreshing drink and asked to take a seat, taking the stress out of the checking in process - we just sat and were given our key and our bags were taken upstairs for us. We had a beautiful sea view room, looking out onto the private beach belonging to the hotel. I would recommend, as others have, to ask for a 'red flag' when collecting towels - the excursion sellers then respect your quiet space and don't bother you.

The restaurants were fantastic, there was always something that we ate on offer - we never went hungry. The staff were often around and checking that we had enough and checking that there was nothing else that we wanted. Thursday and Sunday nights are English themed nights in some of the restaurants, so they feel like home from home.

The room was always immaculately clean, water was always replenished first thing in the morning and if you displayed the do not disturb sign, the water would be left outside your room. The towels are amazing, so clever and resourceful for the different animals that can be made - it made my day to walk back into the room to see what had been made.

Would recommend if you are looking for a quiet holiday and just wanting to relax! Had such a fabulous holiday!!

Well where do I start, we arrived at the hotel on the 15th of July and from the moment we got there, the staff couldn't do enough for us. The front desk manager personally showed us to our stunning room 418 with a fantastic view.

The food was good for an all inclusive hotel and you can always find something that you like, the restaurant located on the top floor has a fantastic range of food and you can often find the managers eating up there. The Food and beverage manger always made sure we were ok and couldn't do enough for us.

The trips... Luxor is absolutely amazing with so much to see me and my boyfriend joined up with another couple and paid an extra 6 pound to go in a private car just the four of us and the tour guide. If you do consider going to Luxor however do be careful as at times I felt really uncomfortable with the men trying to buy me. We also went on a boat trip booked on the hotel site, but not actually part of the hotel which was ok however did become boring as there was not much to see or do. When we arrived at the boat trips destination the sea was so blue that you could see the fish swimming around your legs, however this beach was very overcrowded with little to no shaded areas.

The shops in the hotel are good and the staff are just great and are always making sure you are ok and have everything you need the perfume shop in particular where most days we would go in sit down and have a chat with no hassle to buy anything at all. Ahmed, Mubarak and alla el din always made us feel at home and sold genuine perfumes for a great price. Mina in the watch shop always made us smile and was extremely helpful even offering to let us have the watches that we wanted and to pay at a later date.

Management are so hard working and a pleasure to spend time with especially Mohammed the bar manager was always around constantly wanting feed back on how his staff are doing. Which was alway exceptional.

Bar staff are always on hand to make sure you have always got a drink a massive thank you to Omar in the lobby bar who constantly made us laugh just the way he acted and his attitude to hard work At The pool bar Zachi and abanob were always around to make you laugh and gave great service always with a smile Mohammed abdo would always make sure I had a special cocktail or two always at his own creation and works super hard to maintain the fantastic bar area whilst always having a chat and a laugh with me and my boyfriend. For us the bar staff by the pool and in lobby bar made our holiday the best so far :)

Mezzo makes his team work so hard and always makes sure the guest are happy with the animation. They all work so hard most of all solly who always looked after us and included us in his games and activities even if we was not all that keen.

Mr syed the hotel manager thank you so much for everything and all your hard working staff because every single one of them made our holiday and that is why we are planning our return.

We have only been back 9 hours and I we really miss all of you so much!

Having literally just stepped off the plane a few hours ago I couldn't wait to pass on our revue of this Hotel and our Carriers Thomas Cook....And its all good, if not great ! If you are heading out to Egypt with TC to this Hotel you are in for a treat.

The Hotel
I don't know if readers are aware but Egypt's troubles have impacted in a big way on the holiday business. The previous Leader of this fantastic country had been busy demolishing tourism but the new man is really getting behind things.
The bad bits
The street paving of Hurghada is in a terrible state, be very careful if you are wanting to go walkabout at night, the majority of the street lights do not work either so coming out of the Hotel and turning right to head into the older part of the city is not a great idea once its dark. There are very regular power failures although I noticed our Hotel had a huge standby generator running full whack on the pavement. The main water supply isn't working so there is a constant delivery of water by huge Mercedes tankers so do not drink the tap water apart from washing and doing your teeth, stick to the bottled water which is available everywhere for free within the Hotel.
Our Experience
The Thomas Cook rep met us at the airport and got us all on our bus and off to the Sunrise no problem.
Rooms were allocated very quickly and turned out to be exactly as we had ordered, sea views for all three rooms (there were six of us) a working TV, fridge and mini safe plus the all important air-conditioning system !. We never attend the rep meetings as we have traveled to this destination many times but we thought we would go just to see if anything had changed over the past couple of years as we have been travelling elsewhere due to the troubles in Egypt. I am really pleased we attended, Thomas Cook had the entire Management team of the Hotel from the General Manager, Head Chef to the people in charge of housekeeping lined up to introduce themselves and explain how we get in touch with them Personally, if we had any queries etc. Fantastic ! I have never, ever had this kind of meeting, its usually the time they try to flog me a trip so I was taken aback by this kind of infinitive, very impressive. The Hotel amenities are great, now bear in mind this is an older Hotel so there are some area's that need a bit of money to sort them out like the lower area's of the Hotel and odds & sods but for an Egyptian Hotel its in good nick. There are Four main restaurants, the very top floor one we liked the best, two days were English food and although we prefer their food when on holiday we did try the English nights and they do a fab roast Sunday Dinner and their Cottage Pie and Steak & Kidney Pudding were also really great, especially as we arrived during Ramadan these poor blokes were prepping food for us during the day in heat well into the 50's and starving themselves at the same time.
The second floor restaurant is also good for all meals and is used for breakfast, just outside the main area there's a young lad knocking out omelets in searing heat with a smile on his face all the morning long !. If you smoke this is where you breakfast !. By the main freshwater swimming pool is another bar which also has an ice cream machine which works from 3pm onwards - there is no kiddy queue as this is an ADULT ONLY Hotel !!! so park your kids and head off here for a great break!.
Next to the private lagoon fed from the sea (oh yes !) there is also another eating place which starts from 10am serving pizza they make for you there and then, drinks and even (for we Brits) chips with tomato sauce. There are masses of sunloungers and parasols and you get your fresh clean towels each morning from yet another happy, smiling bloke and get ready to do nothing all day apart from fry in the sun (it hit 40 on the 28th of July).
Scuba Divers
Sorry but the dive club attached to this Hotel is really poor. They have absolutely no idea what they are doing. The diving is great, the boat skills are at best shabby to indifferent.
I dived over three days and was disappointed each day. Day one they had a group of locals onboard with a mass of children, we are in an Adults Only Hotel so why would I want to have crying babies on my boat trips ??. To top it off they were feeding the fish which is a huge no-no in the Red Sea. They mixed non-divers with snorkelers and the scuba divers so the dive deck was full of children running around, Eastern Euro's babbling away and pushing you out of the was so they could get snorkeling. It was really bad, both mine and my buddies dive kit are UK standard so we need an adapter to use their tanks, we had been using new adapters for our try dive the day before, no problem. Once we had paid for the three days we were given old tatty adapters and not one of them worked and the dive leader said our rigs were both broken...they had been fully serviced and tested two weeks earlier. I'm a PADI master scuba diver, my dive buddy has similar qualifications, we went on dives with everyone from a complete novice holding onto the dive leaders arm through to us so you can imagine the shambles in the water. There was no dive boat briefing for everyone just very basic dive briefings, apart from once we never dived were we asked to dive, there was no emergency briefing, I only saw the oxygen tank on the last day of diving as we were on a larger vessel. Nothing about the radio or first aid, no resus kit that I could see, basically take your money and hope for the best seemed to be the order of the day. Don't get me wrong they obviously knew what they were doing but they failed to impart this knowledge to we divers. I do an awful lot of diving in the Red Sea so if you stop at this excellent Hotel please spend 20LE and nip up to the Marriott Hotel just up the road with your kit and book your dives with Aqueous Diving there (Hassan) they really do know what they are doing and you will have a happy safe experience.
Overall I would rate Thomas Cook a 5 out of 5, ditto the Hotel just for trying really hard and the diving club I cannot rate at all, sorry but it is as it is

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view and give your cleaner half his tip up front and say if he looks after you he will...

Just returned from our 3rd visit at the sunrise holiday resort and again we have had an amazing Holiday, from arriving to departing we were looked after by everyone even the taxi driver who was booked through the hotel waited for us for over an hour with a big smile.

Our room was again fantastic, thank you Mr. Ayman and good luck in your new position but really don't want you to leave.

The young chap that serviced our room was second to none and nothing was too much trouble for him, he greeted us every day with a pleasant smile asking us was everything ok.

Life on the beach was as good if not better than our previous years all the staff at the beach and lobby bars could not do enough for us.

Debbie my partner wants to say a special thank you to Heba from the Horas spa who organised the most amazing massages and continued to be our friend all the way through our holiday and we will be keeping in touch.

Room service was amazing at just a small cost, food in the restaurants was of a good standard but found it a little too warm for us but hey ho, what do you expect when you go in the summer.

Over all another amazing holiday we are back again in November and again next July and as with all my reviews highly recommend the red sea.

The Entertainment staff were funny and respected the fact we liked their banter but didn't really get involved.

We would like to thank everyone for making this holiday even better than the last and look forward to seeing you all again later in the year.

One special thank you to Omar who looked after us on our first visit to the Jungle Disco in our 3 years, which was fab, and we are sorry to have put you through the old people dancing.

To sum up amazing hotel with amazing people who go out of their way to make your stay memorable.

Reception area, lobby, restaurant areas are OK,staff is friendly if you leave enough tips, and if you buy something they sell at their hotel shops - otherwise not very welcoming. Russian girl at reception extremely rude.
Food in general was average (chicken, fish, beef every lunch & dinner, salad bar was fine and dessert selection also great), breakfast very poor. We had no stomach problems though by taking advised Antinal daily.
Outside pool was fine and the beach and services were overall great.
The first room we had was on the 6th floor with garden view - not advisable to pick a room in this category as the bathroom was extremely small, with a little, very dirty shower, dirty toilet, it was ridiculous that they even think of naming this 5*...After complaining, we received another room on the 7th floor with a nicer bathroom but the air conditioning was circulating smokey air, whenever someone in the hotel was smoking, we were breathing it in, even at nights, and they explained that nothing can be done. They had several power failures daily and one night no water for hours in the whole hotel. Seaview rooms are much nicer, so if you ever stay in this resort, choose one of those. Animation was OK, bar staff was very friendly but quality of all inclusive drinks were very low.
The best thing of this holiday remained the Red Sea and the diving/snorkeling experience . Not returning to this hotel though.

Room Tip: Do not choose "Garden view room" ever...

Stayed there may 2013. It was are second time there it's good hotel with a very good location.
It's not like Sharm al sheikh because you are not a captured animal. You go into town with problem at all besides the locals hassling you a bit.
The food when we were there was very good, and the rooms we're keep clean and tidy. All the staff always had a smile on there face and always happy to help you.
Egypt is not a good place to visit if you are in a wheelchair. Other than that I would recommend it to anyone.
