“Great staff doing their best in a tired hotel.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 June 2014

Just returned after a week's stay- lovely hotel in lovely setting and staff are so friendly and helpful. Room kept spotless and when A/C wasn't working to full capacity we were moved to a superior room. Downside were restaurants- it was concerning when there was a lack of cutlery and napkins and when there was a serious shortage of serving tongs, leaving guests to have to use fingers to pick up bread, cakes etc. Maybe they could supply hand sanitisers at restaurant entrances? Cold food was kept out of chill for the duration of service and was also transported through searing heat down to outside snack bar on trollies! Unsurprisingly both my partner and myself suffered with D&V! Please " Mr Grand Hotel manager " read your reviews and smarten up your act but don't blame your staff-they are all keeping cheerful in a very tired hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for superior room.

looking very tired and dated. rooms are slowly being refurbished tho. sunbeds on the beach are wooden painted white and the paint is peeling, looking like it hasn't been done for years. mattresses on beach are canvas and full of stains, makes you wonder what germs are lurking. mattresses and sunbeds by pools are all new but made of plastic so get very very hot. oasis pool has a good bar and afternoon pancake bar, but always had dead insects floating. paradise pool was lovely but the bar was disappointing with no snacks available. only place for all inclusive guests to get bottled water was the beach bar, which could be a bit of a trek from some of the rooms. saw the bar staff one night re-using dirty glasses after just sticking them in a sink of dirty water, which made me realise why i was so ill. caught a stomach bug on 4th day of holiday. was admitted to hospital by the 6th day. i was very lucky that the hospital staff were able to detect what was wrong with me so quickly and get me well enough for my flight home the next day. air conditioning doesn't do what it should. just recycles warm dirty air. filters on the roof look like they have gone way past the time for replacement. some staff went out of their way to give excellent service but others were extremely rude or just ignored you. only place for wifi was a hot sweaty bar which you would sit in for ages trying to get connected. if you asked the bar staff if it was working they would reply "not my problem". described as 4* but only worth 3* at most. if they complete the refurbishment and get the dedicated staff to re-train the ones who don't give a damn, then it has the potential to be a fantastic destination. when the germans invaded on the second day of my holiday i knew how Poland felt during WWII. water slides don't operate any more and neither do any of the water features by the paradise pool most of the time. food tasted great and was presented well, but the amount of flies and birds i kept seeing on the dishes really concerned me. bed linen and towels were changed and washed daily but were so old and full of stains that remained. all inclusive was anything but. it only applied from 10am til midnight. you could only eat at set meal times and in certain places. extras and trips were well overpriced. if i went back to Hurghada i would go to the Makadi or the Siva Grand.

Room Tip: if you still want to go there then don't pay more than £300 each for all inclusive, ask for one...

I was here for one week and was given a room with a view at the beach and sea. Very nice. Room was for sure big enough for one person. Only the closet doors could not slide, so my clothes were visible and somehow the safe did not work. The bathroom is dated and I had to shower in the bath (which was a small one). The water pressure was good though.
Normally you get a bottle of water a day for free, in this hotel you have to pay 15LE for a small bottle. Just go outside and go to a supermarket, you will buy a big bottle of water for 3 LE.

The walk to the main building was still short. I only ate at one restaurant, the one where you can sit outside, it is in Arabian style. Nice staff there. There was not much variety but I like the food in the morning and evening. At lunch I ate at the beachbar, nice chefs, but the food was not that nice. Don't eat the chicken. If there is soup, take it, it is nice.

The beach is very nice and big. No trouble finding an empty bed and ofcourse there are helpful people to help you find a bed and carry your stuff.
I spend a lot of time at the beachbar, reading in the shadow with this great view over the sea. Bassem was great, I got a glass instead of a plastic one and before I finished my drink, I got a new one. Without tipping...

I was the only guest from the Netherlands, I did not mind, but if you want to meet people from your own country, this is not your hotel. For the rest, it was clean, in general very nice staff and to be honest, it was a very cheap trip.

Room Tip: I was told that rooms in the 600 are older, but you are very close to the beach. In the 100's yo...

Went for a week returned on Saturday morning, the holiday was lovely, nice and relaxing, hotel was good and the Egyptians are lovely people, very attentive, always smiling and greet you. the food was ok although yes it was very German and if you dont mind a hotel full of Germans and Russians its good, i enjoyed the whole holiday apart from one thing which put me off snorkling - as i entered the water the boat emptied the toilet into the sea and i was struggling to get away from it, it put me off snorkling so i stayed on the boat, i dont think it is practice to do this and apart from this the everything was good, flights great, staff wonderful i would definately return to Egypt and possibly to the same hotel shame there isnt more English people as i think even the staff perfer if there was more of us!

Room Tip: choose a superior room and tip the cleaners they really look after you and are lovely

Due to a flight delay, we had to stay one night in that nightmare hotel.

The rooms are dirty, smell moldy, the bed linen is dirty and the bathroom is just the same.
Even if you are planning just a week at the beach with hardly any time in the room,
you should invest in another hotel.

The hotel is located in a loud street, filled with cafes and noisy clubs.
A renovation of the rooms is much needed!!!!

NEVER NEVER NEVER EVER AGAIN!!!!

Room Tip: check in at any other hotel in the city!!!

My partner and I arrived 2nd May and were instantly upgraded to a superior room, 516. Fantastic view of the sea and very well kept gardens. Staff were always smiling and very helpful and spent a lot of time cleaning the area. There are 3 main restaurants with a lot of food to choose from (including hot' food) and 1 marina bar/restaurant in the afternoon so no need to ever feel hungry. We had also chosen to go on the 4hr red sea boat trip, in which you can see all the coral and fish below the boat and then went snorkelling - absolutely stunning scenery and very glad we did it, also seeing schools of dolphins on the way back. We had no illusion of being in a 5 star hotel as that is not what we paid for but this hotel and where it is located is priceless.

Room Tip: Superior rooms 500 to 900 in my opinion are very spacious with the best views. Restaurants, beach et...
