We have just come back from our third holiday in Egypt. We stayed at the Palm Beach Resort hotel in the last three years. Every year when we visit this hotel, we always meet there the highest and improving level of all services, as well as the innovative approach of the management. We enjoyed the beautifully maintained garden full of flowers where we were walking daily in the shadow of the palms from the beach to the dining room, along the pool bar and the pool . The night walks in the moon light were romantic. The sea was good, there were plenty of umbrellas, sunbeds and towels on the sandbeach. The entrance to the sea was suitable both for swimmers and for small kids with parents. New slides for adults and kids were built at the pools.
The staff of the hotel put the accent on perfect and spotless cleaning in all areas, from guest rooms, common space up to the beach. We would like to express our thanks and appreciation to the staff of the hotel kitchen. There was always a great choice of food. We could choose from the offer of tasty meat meals with plentiful vegetable side dishes, classical or from Egyptian origin, and fresh vegetarian salads. Fish was also well prepared. Every day in the dinning room the cooks were making fresh omlettes, pancakes for breakfest and were grilling meat or fish outside for lunch and dinner . There was a choice of many cereals, bread, cakes and Egyptian sweets. It was a good idea to offer thematic food of various wolrd cuisines at the night dinner.
The English, German or Russian speaking guests were able to fullfil their wishes or solve their problems not only by limited contacting the agent of their travel agency, but also with the help of the public relation manager who was standing at the entrance hall during the whole day.
We always leave this hotel with the feeling that we were a member of a great family where the principles of full contentment between the guests and polite, attentive and friendly staff were determinant.

We have been in Palm Beach Hotel for 2 weeks, with our 3 children (17-13-12 y.o), and it was marvellous. The restaurant was nice, the staff very friendly and competent., the rooms are spacious and clean. The swimmingpool was clean, the area of it and of the seeside are very clean too. The poolbaar is very attractive. the animations are excellent and not upsetting (day and night).
The must, is the Aquarius Club, and the diverse trips (dolphins 'house, ...) we followed the Open water course (Myself and the 3 children) and are all certified.
It was a dream for all of us.
We certainly will come back next year.

Our vacation trip to Hurghada was great! We were lucky to find accurate reviews about Palm Beach Resort as we decided on a hotel. My girlfriend loves palm trees, the beach, buganvillas and calm settings. We got it all at Palm Beach!

I believe I may have been the first Texan to visit Hurghada. Ha-ha! My beautiful girlfriend is Polish. So we booked the all-inclusive trip from Poland. It was well organized and inexpensive. I would recommend booking through ScanHoliday anytime. We had no difficulty traveling from and to the airport because they handled all the arrangements.

The staff is wonderful at the hotel. We only had a small problem with one front desk clerk that seemed not to care. Otherwise, the staff was very professional. It seemed like they all took pride in providing excellent customer service.

Room: Rooms were very clean. View was great from our balcony. Some mosquitos but they fogged the area several nights and it seemed to help lessen the presence of mosquitos. 2 bottles of water in fridge every day. Make sure to take them and they will replenish daily. Safe was easy to operate. Bed was king size I believe but mattress was hard. Girlfriend loved that but my back didn't. Just a preference thing I imagine.

Internet: No internet connection in rooms only in lobby area. Speed was extremely slow and often unavailable but it was free whenever it did work.

Food: Great selection of food. I was scared I would not find anything to eat but selection was quite good and tasty. They have many salads, breads, desserts to choose from. A chef prepares a gourmet treat at dinner time to add to the possible choices. We treated ourselves to a "special" seafood offer one night. The shrimp was delicious. Dinner was very special and classy. They have a dress code for the main restaurant. It is great to see everyone go out of their way to be nicely dressed for dinner.

Activities: There is nothing nearby. Within walking distance, you will find a pharmacy and store but the prices are too high. In fact, the hotel shops had better quality items and prices. We ventured to the town (Hurghada) one day by taxi in search of souvenirs. They had warned us that some taxi drivers take you to their uncle's shop. Ours did and we felt a little anxious. Walking down the street in Hurghada you will experience non-stop efforts to pull you into shops. As we found out, the airport had many shops and probably better prices and selection. On the other hand, we had a great time on a trip to Cairo to see the pyramids and a trip on a submarine boat to see the underwater landscape and exotic fish.

Entertainment: The Animation Team is great. They have nightly performances attended by many. The team organizes beach volleyball and other activites during the day. They are very friendly.

Atmosphere: Palm Beach Resort is a very family oriented place. It is a very charming and peaceful destination. It is very romantic as well. My girlfriend really enjoyed spending time on her air mattresss on the water and sunbathing. We enjoyed the romantic walks at night. It is true that the beach is small but you simply have to get up early to check out your towel and secure a good spot. Everyone seemed respectable of each other during our stay. We were definitely in the minority as most people were either Russian, Czech, German or British. I think everyone was just there as a person though and nationality was not so important.

We would definitely go back. In fact, we had already discussed taking my future mother-in-law with us next time. Either way, we are guaranteed a good time when we return because the hotel is a very tranquil and peaceful destination. We felt like it was a nice paradise and we have been to very luxurious places in the past. We highly recommend Palm Beach Resort to everyone

Nice hotel with all guests on all inclusive's basis. 60 % russian people, 40 % rest of europe (germans and hollanders). Staff very friendly, room clean and confortable. The beach is too tiny, all beds were already occupied early in the morning. Foods generally good, not so much varied, but tasty. Animation good also for the children with a special disco every night.

Arriving to HRG get your visa in the arrival hall from the little bank kiosks for 15USD. If you getting it by your travel agency they might charge you 25USD or more. The bus will wait for you as they have the number of people who they supposed to have. If you arrive by yourself and take a taxi to el Dahar or Sakkala (new town) don't pay over 40 EGP.

The hotel offers only AI holiday. It is located outside of Hurghada (up to the north). The tour quide told us on the orientation that the taxi ride to El Dahar (old town - 10 minute ride (cca. 6km)) costs 20-30 EGP but actually we always paid 15 EGP either way indifferent of the time of the day (the taxi driver once left the meter on and it showed 7,86 EGP). There is a grocery store called Abu Asha in Dahar where we bought Egyptian sweets, tea, coffee where we paid less much than in the small store opposite buying the "presents", sweets. Speaking about the souvenirs you can find loads of them at the airport (the transit after passport control looks like a bazaar but with set prices ie: Egypt book 60EGP, fridge magnet 5-10EGP, hibiscus tea 5-15 EGP and you don't need to bargain furthermore if you are missing 1-2-3 pounds, they still let you have it. They take USD, EUR (coins as well!) and they give back change in that currency as well.

The hotel:
very nice hotel with beautifully maintained garden. It has free wifi in the Laguna Bar (opposite the main restaurant Las Palmas). If you don't have a computer you can use the internet room for 40EGP for an hour (the minimum is 15min for 15EGP). The hotel offers hairdresser salon where they make pedicure as well for 10€, fitness center (quite good equipment - sport shoes obligatory), tennis (during daytime w/o instructor), diving center (aquarius.com - the prices are negotiable, so do it otherwise you pay cca30% more than else). There is an animation team who offers different activities - ie: morning exercise (some tai-chi looking thing), volleyball, aqua aerobic, water polo and some more. We haven't participated in any but it looked ok. An Arabic male is the team leader and the girls are Russian. The night entertainment is funny if you are in the mood (and why don't be), especially when the Russians (65-70% of the quest are) are participating. The hotel offers tours which might be cheaper than your tour quide will quote. We took a tour to Luxor (which departed at 4:30 and finished at 21:30) for 70€ but this may vary. I saw on TA before leaving that Brittish were paying over 95GBP - so check what the hotel is offering. Ie the giftun island trip by the hotel was 10€ cheaper than with our travel agency.

Currency Exchange: there is a theoretical money exchange at the reception, but in real it is non existant. You can change money outside the hotel (there is an ATM). The fx rate is 7.3 for the € and 5.5 for the dollar. The fx rate is everywhere the same and if you pay with foreign currency in the bazaar or in the grocery store expect that you are going to get back the change in EGP or if you paid in € or L you will get back coins as the banks are not taking coins. Expect that sometimes you will be asked to change € or L (mainly €) coins for the above reason. These coins are great for tipping tough.

The rooms:
The rooms are goodly looked after. The room boy is attentive, we gave him 5€ on the 2nd day and requested him for 2 additional bottles of water (there are 2 bottles in the room for free and it can be filled up by the many water fountains in the hotel. Two days later he received an other 2€ and the day before leaving 3€ more) for this we got 2 bottles of water each day (we brushed our teeth with bottled water) .

The AI package:
the food is repetitive (i feel sorry for those of you who say it is tasty :-)), the local drinks do not worth a penny.
The meals are in self service buffets. 2 main restaurants in the hotel. One is at the main building called "Las Palmas" and the other is in the next building on the second floor "Palavrion". In the "Las Palmas" there are a lot of Russians (no offense my zemliaki - as my mother is Russian) who don't know what does that mean queing and respecting other travellers. Would suggest to use the Pavalrion restaurant (only opens for breakfast and dinner) as most of the westerners use this one and it is friendlyer. As mentioned before the food is repetitive (everything tastes the same day after day) very few dishes were tasty. AI package does not include ice cream and popcorn (1-2€). The local drinks are not rateble. Drinks are avlb from 10-01h. "Coctails" are rather punches, the only time when beer was drinkable (we think it was a mixture of beer and water) is when the tap was inoperative and they served bottled beer. I was dreaming about my good old SINGHA beer.

We paid 410€ per person for this trip and we could have no complaint for this price however it does not worth a penny more though.

The hotel is very nice, pools are good, sea is ok, easy and cheap ride to the city, great diving in the red sea - overall I would go back to this for this price next time for a week as well.

It was our first time in Egypt and we didn't have any preferences in terms of location or hotel as the main target of the holiday was to relax in sunny and warm place. Hotel itself is located outside of the city of Hurghada (9euro return taxi ride to the city) and in fact in the middle of nowhere between the sea and desert. Hotel has one main building and 3 side buildings for the hotel rooms, 2 pools, 2 pool bars, 2 restaurants. Hotel also has it's small private beach with free umbrellas, sunbeds and towels. Food is tasty but there's no big diversity and we didn't experience any stomach problems caused by the food or water during our one week stay. Every evening entertainment, but not top class. Around 90 % of the hotel guests were older German couples or Russian families. Room cleanliness not top class. Staff very friendly in the restaurants and bars.
