“Hotel is good”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 December 2009

Hurghada as a place is good. the beach is nice and clean. But the market is not. Most of the shops are very responsive, polite, friendly with European tourist and don't even answer Asian tourist. Make sure you go to small stores where they appreciate you as a customer.
The hotel itself same thing with mix staff attitude. Customer relation person was not so responsive with Asian and was very friendly with European. Most of the other staff was nice, friendly. The room was big but had a bad smoking smell. I went to the receptionist to change the room or clean the room. He came back saying he can't cahgne the room and some one will come and spray the room nothing done. We did request vegetarian food and the Chef was nice enough to make sure that we do have good vegetarian food. The private beach the resort is very nicely maintained, clean and hygenic. Even the swimming pools were good, nicely maintained. They have different shows that were good. Billards, table tennise stuff like that is not free. You have to pay for your use. Overall its a nice place to relax. If you particapte in all shows you don't need to go out of the hotel.

I went there with my husband in our honey moonnice. Nice looking buildings, clean rooms, junior suite is charming, food is good. Sea food restaurant is vabulous. Animation team is wonderful. We enjoyed our time at the discoTech with the animation team & Russian dance band... Really, you won't need to go out of there...

Accomodation was average (but in fact quite good for Egypt measures), food was properly prepared.
Bank manager had it's own will on opening times so we couldn't exchange our current for egyptian pounds when we needed it (and bank should have been open in that part of the day).
Pools were nothing special, sea water was dirty and full of dead algee (one worker was trying to clean the beach and in fact he simply threw all the dirt from the beach back in the water).

This is definately the best hotel in Hurghada if you want to stay close to downtown El Dahar, but still have the peaceful surroundings. About 10-15 minutes walk on the promenade to get downtown. Nice staff - reception+++, the manager <3, bar staff and housekeeping. Was on half board, but used the buffet only a couple of times... prefer to eat downtown with so many choices and meet the local people. Had a few meals on the beautiful beachfront restaurant at the hotel though +++ Very nice, great food and staff with professional manager - it's a must if you choose this hotel! Tried the massage, a bit disappointing, and there is a fee to use the gym. Squash and one tennis court(onder construction) Nice animation staff - special hello to Laura :-D - but could do very well without the 'VERY tourist' hip-hop & reggae around the pool area, but I guess a few people like it... Nice rooms, great beach... - all in all this is a beautiful pearl at the Red Sea coast. Have tried several (10?) in Hurghada and surroundngs, but this is definately the best choice if you want a quiet place close to downtown.

My first thought was the journey from the airport which was not too long and a massive relief...maybe 20 mins. The staff were lovely and really very helpful and willing to try and do the best they can for you. The room was fairly basic but really clean and pleasant with a lovely balcony that had good sun for most of the day. I even managed to find a channel with some english films which was good for late at night.

The pool area was also really clean and well kept, as was the private beach. We didn't visit the pool much because there was alot of children there most of the time which meant it was quite noisy and crowded at times.

We only left the hotel once to go snorkelling for the day which was definitely worth doing and good value for money. We spent a full day on the boat, did 3 snorkelling stops and visited an island with lunch included for about £25. We both had massages in the health centre at the hotel which was also good value and v.relaxing.

My only complaint would be the loud music played during the day by the pool side. It was repetitive and irritating. Also, the food could be a problem for some people. I was completely satisfied with it. There was a good choice every night of lots of different things including salads, hot food, soup and bread and pudding was good. There is no chips or english breakfasts but if you want that I wouldn't advise going to Egypt..Benidorm is probably more your thing.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would definitely go back. I have been to Eygpt 4 times now and this is definitely one of the better hotels I have been to.

Having just got back from the Sea Star, I am glad to report that I finally have had a decent meal. The food at this place is the worst I have ever had in an All Inclusive package, and the offering was exactly the same every single day, to get a decent meal you had to take a taxi into down, which defeats the object of all inclusive. They blatantly used very cheap products to produce the food, and used the same stuff over and over. The drinks on ofer were given in very small plastic cups or tiny glasses. By the end of my vacation I would actually get down at the prospect of having to go for a meal.

The food to one side, the rest of this hotel is actually quite good. The rooms are big and very clean. The staff are kind and friendly and try the best they can. The small beach is well kept, and the beach and pool boys are fantastic. There is a fantastic on site dive school.

My other moan is the Entertainment, its dreadful like the food, and like the food its the same everyday. They seem to have one CD to provide music, and do the exactly the same activity at exactly the same every day, you can set your watch by it. With the food being the same and the entertainment being the same it really is like being in Ground Hog Day, I was glad to leave, and would ever return.
