There were 11 of us, 6 adults and 5 teenagers. Staff were really friendly and went out of their way to seat us all together at breakfast and dinner. Food wasn't fab but no-one went hungry. The beach was the star of the holiday for us with its sand bar n consistent depth was perfect for mucking about in the sea. Great snorkelling by the jetty. Beds were dreamy, best sleep I've ever had on hols and rooms were immaculate. There was the normal hassle on the beach "come on our best ever boat ride" which we did lol and because there were enough of us we had the boat to ourselves, all 3 times. On the 3rd trip we were up early to see the Dolphins, which we did and unusually we were allowed to get in the sea with them, 1 bucket wish obtained. On the whole there weren't any reasons for complaint, my partner and me will be going back as its perfect for couples and families. Would have given it 5 rating but food was a little monotonous. There are restaurants and bars along the front with all the trinkety shops you could imagine. 1 tip though, don't buy from the shops on the beach front as their way over priced even after bartering.

The hotel is in an ideal location close to the centre of Hurghada and with its own sandy beach. It is well designed with beautiful gardens and pools which incorporate a swim up bar.

The beach is divided by a sand bar, to the right it is little more than a paddling pool, but to the left it is suitable for swimming. From a snorkling point of view there is not the usual Red Sea variety and quantity of exotic fish, but some can be found under and around the pier.

The pool area is really quite nice, except the sun loungers are heavy wooden things, very comfortable but difficult to move around, the tranquillity was continually disturbed by people kicking them across the patio instead of lifting them. After everything eventually settled down, the peace was again shattered by the animation team giving us a 10 am wakeup call by playing loud music. This was on and off all day, even though we all have MP3 players etc., hotel managements seem to think we need an all day disco to survive. Animation teams have surely passed their sell by date, new ideas are required.

The only way to get some respite and relaxation is to use the beach, unfortunately most people have the same idea, so its a case of getting up at 7.30 and grabbing a beach sun lounger.

We opted for a junior suite in the main block, it was not so much a suite as a large room, but was clean, well equipped and comfortable. The only let down was the ancient CRT TV which had poor reception and only two English programmes, CNN and BBC World News.

There are two main dining rooms pretty much identical, one is upstairs which makes it difficult for push chairs, so fewer kids running round. The food choice is maybe not the best in Egypt but is well cooked and nicely presented. At busy times it could be a bit cramped around the food counters, not helped by the rude attitude of some guests.

Lunch is served mainly in the Oasis Restaurant and it can be difficult to get a table, it is well worth while making friends with one of the main waiters Hawid (likes to be called Howard).

The evening entertainment was a bit naff, after two samples we made for the main indoor bar where we found the usual gang of Brits who were more than capable of enjoying the AI drinks and making their own entertainment. We were well looked after by Eseem and his staff who kept the drinks flowing.....to some tune.

Just outside the hotel there are numerous small restaurants, shops (all selling the same tat) and bars, mostly charging English prices, we found the best meal at the Thai Gardens. Across the road is a fixed price supermarket which is very cheap and ideal for gifts and souvenirs. The cost of a taxi to the city centre is about £3 each way. We took UK currency with us and changed it at the hotel reception; the exchange rate was well above anything we could at home. The tour reps also seem to do money exchange as a side line and give an even better rate.

As previously noted in earlier reports, the hotel has a high proportion of German and Eastern European guests, however we found the Germans to be very polite and friendly!

All in all we returned home after thoroughly enjoying our holiday, albeit with a slight German accent.

Room Tip: Worth paying the little extra for the Junior suites

Nothing special, well in need of makeover! Food same old every day/night, tip the staff for the treatment you would normaly expect if you dont then your invisable! Staff like a certain nationality more than others as we have seen, we are here now sat in lobby thats full of dust from work in hotel today!! We have been hasseled evey day for spa/trips/themed nights constantly even when sleeping on sunbed weve been woken up! It seems here if your not tipping or in with the staff then your outcasted!!!! Rooms are average, clean but dated, pool area ok, 6:30am for decent sunbed/beach spot or again tip staff to save you one! Restaurants / buffets, clean / average food, no variety, entertainment ok especially Peter what a great lad, loads of shops outside hotel both directions as you expect hassle! Lol, beaches not as good as Sharm for close sealife but clean and safe, plenty of shaded areas around hotel as needed its hot now 102 degrees!!! Tbh we would not be back to this hotel or resort its definatly over rated but if its what you like or are used to or
even get a deal then its your choice, i was a travel agent for years this is in my opinion max 3* the choice is yours!!!

Special thanks go to all animators of Siva. They cared about us all day.. prepare lot of programs and activities. Nights program was pleasing, funny! .. certainly do not miss them. Applause for Bianco and his always perfect humor.
