“Great resort !”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 August 2014

Our family, with 2 kids ( 3 and 6 ) spent 10 days in July 2014 in this wonderful resort. It has beutiful gardens , a lagoon crossing the gardens ,which you can enjoy on a boat, leading you to the sea. The sea is wonderful in this area : small water for kids at the entrance, and coral reef with coloured fish , when you go deeper. Services are good, the food is great, especially because it has 5 theme restaurants which you can daily choose from , so it is not the usual - every day the same menu - thing.I recommend the place, I would go back myself, some time.

What a gem we have found. Unfortunately none of the major tour operators in the UK go to this hotel but we had visited it when on holiday at the sister hotel earlier in the year. You can find it on the budget websites like Travel Republic, Easy Jet, On the Beach.

If you like hotels that are full if fellow English this is not the hotel for you as the clientele are mainly German & Russian however please don't let that put you off as it is an amazing hotel.

I will say that If there are more than 2 of you you are better off paying the €5 per night to upgrade to a deluxe or family room as the standard rooms are quite small.

Rooms - cleaned to an excellent standard & deluxe rooms have plenty of space

Food - each of the 5 restaurants were excellent. We didn't have a bad meal. There was always fresh meat being cooked either on the griddle or BBQ, fresh pasta, fresh pizza, fish, vegetables. Lots to choose from and all fresh & well cooked. Desserts were also to die for & ice cream available for the kids all day/night.

There are 4 pools, non of which are heated I the summer so are a tad nippy but you do welcome it when you've been sitting in 40degree heat! The kids pools with the slides and sprays is good fun and keeps the little ones entertained, however, I would highly recommend a day trip to Jungle Aqua Park (the duster hotel) there is a shuttle bus that takes you there & back (takes 10 mins) and there is a full aqua park to use which is amazing (35$ per adult & 25$ per child but that is All Inclusive and worth every penny in my opinion)

All the staff are amazing. Attend to your every need. They remember what you are drinking & refill your glass without even being asked at times. Everyone is happy and smiley and happy to help with any request you have.

The grounds are amazing, very well maintained and the lake with the shuttle boat is a great touch (gets you from the beach to near reception in no time (saves the walk in the heat).

The only down side was I felt the stage where they did the kids mini disco was far too high for a lot of children to be jumping up and down on. It was an accident waiting to happen.

All in all we had an amazing holiday and will definitely be back.

Thank you to everyone at Dana Beach for making it a holiday to remember.

This was sold as a 5 * hotel to my mother. If you are Russian or German I'm sure it's lovely but if you're British avoid like the plague. The accommodation is low quality, the food is disgusting most of it looking like it has been regurgitated. Even the fruit looks like it has been chewed. Restaurants all like sauna's. The ETS rep Mokhtar is rude and obnoxious. The staff speak very little English which is not very helpful especially when your father has brain damage. Ruined our holiday. After having to ring uk several times got moved.

Room Tip: Choose a different hotel best advice to English travellers

We were here 16/05-24/05. It was the second time in Dana.
So I can make some compare of it.
Now we booked a sea view room (standart), and it was really nice!
It was 3216, our cleaner name was Osama, he is pretty good and funny))
The food was different over the seven days.
If you want to have some quiet holiday, than Dana should be your choice!!!))

Not a great holiday would not recommend. Mobile phone was stolen by a member of staff. management couldn't careless. Waiters and other staff expect money every time you look at them. Had to pay for an upgrade room first room very small even for two people. They are not great fans of English people. Food does not vary too much. Just got home will not be returning.

We had holidays in Dana 12-22 of March, Two adults with two children. Hurgada is windy at this time, mind if you travel with small kids.
Check in - bad -
We booked two separate rooms with balconies and both with kingsize beds. We received one family room. Tips of 40$ didn't help to solve the problem caused by hotel booking system. Personnel at the registration not helpful nor even polite, not eager even to try to resolve the matter.

Quality of food not bad (choose grill, it's fresh).
Awful work of waiters - tables are very dirty in every place we visited. The management never check this area i must admit. The problem might be easily solved and without any money effort. Just dismiss all personnel and hire new who are able to clean the tables, for this job you don't need special unique skills.

Old furniture, severely used. Old equipment in the bathroom. We called to repair the safe (it was closed when we checked in, I consider that personnel who cleaned the room should do it before inviting new guests). We called to repair tubes in the bathroom, water was falling on the floor. Bed linen of yellow color does not make an impression of clean one. Quality of towels may suit 3 stars hotel not higher. Remote control from tv repaired with scotch for a lot of times is very dirty and clammy, I believe that a hotel can afford to buy new which costs 5$.

Very big and beautiful, you can find a nice quiet place. Still problem with personnel. Somebody turned ashtray near the kids place and dirt and cigarettes lay the whole day, only the next day when we asked, a person cleaned it.

We had a great time at Dana Beach, especially after a disappointing experience in Sharm el-sheik last year this was going to be our last Egypt attempt. At arrival we were assisted and checked in very efficiently and friendly. We loved our room in building 3 on the ground floor as we enjoy sitting on the terrace till late in the evening. Rooms are very spacious and the bathroom is huge. Our only feedback concerning the rooms would be to change the mattresses, they are so hard it is like sleeping on the floor and by the end of the week my back was starting to hurt a bit.
We preferred the Castello pool as no one comes to harass you to sell safaris/dinner shows/massages/excursions etc. the beach was also beautiful but more salespersons.
Food was good and widely available, there was always somewhere to eat for those who wanted, loved the small pizzas made to order in the Italian restaurant.
