I spent in El Samaka beach 12 days. Firslty, there are 2 hotels within the same building: a 4 star el samaka comfort and a 3 star el samaka beach. They share the same dinning area, the same beach and the same swimming pool. Moreover just opposite both hotels there is hotel Desert Inn that shares the same beach with those 2 hotels. Some of the clients of El Samaka beach are living in 1 floor bungalos, where I was actually living. It was not that horrible. The meal was the same every day. For breakfast-omelet, potatoes, sausages, pancakes, cornflakes, cheese and bakery. For supper and dinner fish, meat, chicken, rice, potatoes were served. There was lack of fresh vegetables, only tomatoes and cucumbers as well as lack of fresh fruit. As for drinks, you have to sign for everything what you are drinking (probably, for control because some of guests have not all inclusive package). The swimming pool is a bit small but I didn't use it because I like sea and honestly I've been there only twice when our animation team invited to aqua excircises. The beach is OK. There is lagoon, where you can swim with a matrass, as well as direct entry to the sea. The only thing is that it was very windy everyday that is why those people who like to swim a lot would experience some difficulties with waves. Everyday there is animation perfomances, like fire show or show with snakes, Mr or Ms hotel. The thing there is that maybe 96% of all tourists in the hotel are Russians that is why probably, for foreigners that would be a bit boring. Consequently, the hotel is OK for those who are planning to stay there about 4 hours per day-for meal, sleep and animation. Late in the evening you can go a) go to metro club (free entrance for girls with 1 drink) which is just incide the hotel, d) go to HardRock Cafe, which is opposite the hotel c) go to the center of Hurghada that will cost you 2 dollars. Please, decide the price with a taxi driver before you get into a car! otherwise you'll be in a trouble. Paradiso club was nice, b.t.w. As for excursions, I write now for Russians and others, who come here with travel agencies-don't buy excursions from your agents because they are 3 times more expensive!!! Next to the hardRock cafe there is an agency Shanin Tours where you can find anything you want. I went to Cairo, to Luxor, Paradise Island, safari and diving with them and do not regret at al. For those who are searching for extreme they should try safari on a scooter. I took for 5 hours and that costed me 25$. That was really very interesting ,when during the night on a high speed you are crossing the desert! What else can I say... People, who are going alone, in particular girls-don;t be afraid! Of course there is too much attention for singles but as soon as you say No and do not insult Egyptians you'll be fine. Once again, if you are looking for a budget vacation and not planning to stay the whole day in the hotel, El Samaka is OK, you don't even have to look at El Samaka Comfort. Have a nice trip! It won't be that scary!

No room service, smiley restaurant, bad and old fashion toilets, narrow beach, none professional staff. They claim that they are four stars for Alsamaka comfort but they hardly reach 1 star!! telephones are not working in the hotel!!

Compared to other hotels in price and in service can be considered one of the worst hotels in Hurghada and that is what Hurghada residents confirmed but we knew this after registration. I will never come to this hotel again!

TERRIBLE, HORRIBLE, DISGUSTING........Thus hotel is for the serious and hard core budget traveler. If you enjoy the company of the cold and unfriendly eastern Europeans, especially the Russians then this dirt hole will suite your pocket.

So,we booked 2 weeks with El Samaka Beach Hotel in octomber 2007. The arrival was not very sweet,as we thought that transfer to/from hotel-airport was included in the package,but...there was nobody waiting for us. Taxi to the hotel should be around 15 to 30 egypt lira / 2-4 euro, depending on how many passengers/cargo you have. i was carrying windsurf equipment,so they charged 30 egypt lira. The bungalow was close to the swiming pool and to the beach,of course. Decent conditions,2 beds,tv, a/c(noisy,but done it's job), fridge(served it's purpose), bathroom - clean! - water was a bit of a mistery at beggining: cold water ok( a bit redish, but i guess it's normal..coming from the red sea, probably), hot water.....well,there was some....time...mostly from sunrise to sunset, becouse of the heating system that releyed on solar power. All packeges (or at least most of them) come with halfboard included,so, we gave it a try :
1. Breakfast was very complex: 10 sortiments of bread, butter, 4-5 jams flavour, omlette or derivants from egg, fruits. ok to keep you going for about 15 minutes. Ohhh, almost forgot...coffee was columbian aroma in lot's of water.(we didn't try the tea)
2. Dinner was very sophisticated : everybody dressed accordingly..pasta with red souce, rice, fish, some kind of meat with souce, salad, desert. (drinks not included).
Coming back at room and service details..everything was ok, no security problems in the room or outside ( the room had a safe box - they charged 6$ for the entire period ) , the cleaning was impressionable, the houskeeper insisted in building all sorts of animals using the towels!
Good stay for us,decent conditions, depends on what you want to spend...if you're into kitesurfing the good spots are 5-10minutes away by taxi ( or 10 Lira ), windsurfing can be done from the hotel beach, but it's not the spot...wind was ok for kite or big sails, but that was my luck.
On the bad side : the locals can be very annoying in the morning/ afternoon/ but especially in the evening when everybodys out walking,shopping...they virtually pull you into they're shops, they have no respect for your privacy. ( this is only out on the street, not in the hotel). They are lot's of pharmacy's in hurghada which means that there could be problems with the food, we had our share....4-5 good restaurants around...for those interested in night life, i have no idea! i've heard of ministry of sound and another couple of names that seemed to be funny for clubbers..
Enjoy Hurghada!
