“Nice and very friendly family hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 September 2009

The hotel looks a litte old, but the staff is very friendly, they give you the comfoteble idea you always welcome. The food is in buffet , so there is always something you like.
The beach is nice, not so very big, but nice. Also you can make some trips by boat , you start just on the beach off Beirut.
Also they have a shuttle bus to the centre off Hurghada 5 minutes far.
Always willing to bring you and take you back.At the evening there is a nice place to sitt and join together with some drinks on the beach, Its a cozy place. With some annimations. and dance.

Hotel
After all, this is a 3 star hotel. Ok, when you don't expect much and just need a place to stay. They could do much better with a firm person to give clear instructions I believe. Rooms are spacious and have sea view. Rooms are clean, but could be cleaner. My advice is to tip the cleaning staff on the first day already. In the dining room it could have been cleaner. Some guests had reported having seen a cockroach, but I hadn't had any bugs. Don't be shocked by the outsides of the hotel as this is pretty much what all of Hurghada looks like. There's a small shop underneath the pool area where you can buy the typical tourist junk, swimming shoes and postcards. Outside of the hotel to the left is the way to Sunny Days hotel where there's a cash machine. Don't exchange money in the hotel itself as the rate is pretty high... On the right side outside the hotel is in short walking distance a tiny shop which also has large water bottles for a good price. You definitely need water - especially if you have booked halfboard instead of All Inclusive. Also good to take on trips as the drinks are overpriced then.

Service
Ok, but this is definitely something they need to work on. Basically you see lots of staff, but quite a few of them just standing around chatting. They speak russian there, but not really any other languages. I did have problems to make myself understood in english. Some of the waiters also speak german.

Food
All egyptian. Not that much choice and usually the same every day. Interesting, but some international choice would have been nice since most european stomachs are not used to this kind of food. Quite a few people had bad stomach problems during my stay, just like me. Strongly suggest taking some emergency stuff with you, but the egyptian pills work faster (they do costs 10€ there, though in the pharmacies).

Beach
Ok, but you do need swimming shoes as pretty much everywhere in Egypt. Quite rocky when you get in. The water was clean and you could even snorkel a little.
There is one beach you see straight away directly in front of the hotel with some sun loungers and parasols. They have usually been taken very early in the morning already by the russians. Their is a second beach right next to it when you passage through where you get your beach towels. Also parasols and sun loungers, but not that quickly taken. I guess most guests don't get that this also belongs to the hotel. This really is the more quiet part and the animators don't run around there as often. There's a volleyball field behind it and a massage hut.

Pool
Ok, could be cleaned a little more often, but I have definitely seen worse. Usually crowded by kids, but it has always been fun watching them play. Sometimes people played waterball in the pool. Really good thing was that there were usually vacant sun loungers. You should be there by 11 or 12 then, though.

Animation
I assume they get paid badly. Really weren't good. Basically 2 russian girls with too little experience in any other languages but russian. Couldn't make them understand me in english. A short shubby girl and a taller one. Pretty annoying to constantly here them yell "waterpolo", "volleyball" or "gymnastic". But at least they leave you alone after they realized you don't speak russian. The thrid one was a guy that spoke arabian and russian - any other languages where really hard to understand. He mainly played the DJ there (even though he really had no clue what he was doing). There had been daily nightshows which more looked like poor children birthday games and the first night I was a little shocked to hear the loud music everywhere in the hotel. You get used to it though and after all, it stopped at midnight.

Other
What has been a real upside was the massages in the tiny booth on the smaller hotel beach (from Samir). 12€ for a halfbody massage (including a nice chat with a goodlooking guy and tea... LOL) Go try this!

I can really gladly recommend day trips to Kristallinsel (snorkeling for 35€) and a Quad tour in the desert for 25€ which I booked from ETS travel in the hotel. Awesome and totally worth the money! What I didn't like at all was the trip to Cairo, visiting the National Museum, the pyramids of Gizeh and the Sphinx. That was more a "shoppingtour" due to all the extras you have to pay for or they would like you to pay for than anything else and I really wasn't prepared for what Cairo really looks like.

We spent two night in Hurghada in 2004. The room was simple but clean, pool very small and beach not very nice but what irritated me was the food. I could not choose anything and when finaly chose somthing it was awful. I didn't like background outside the hotel it looks like after bombing. I dont recommend this hotel. That's my opinion. Sorry. Very nice service for 3* hotel. Goog food, friendly staff. Animation team tries to keep everyone enterntained and happy. We had a lot of fun doing aerobics and learning belly dancing. The hotel is away from the downtown which I liked because it's nice and quiet. Two thumbs up!

  • Liked — Enterntainment program

me and my family stayed at the beirut hotel for 3 weeks, and the weather was lovely and hot for all our 3 weeks there not a cloud in the sky. the sea was a turquoise green lovely and clear with lots of tropical fish to see. the hotel itself was fantastic lovely and clean, all new bedrooms and bathrooms. with a fantastic veiw overlooking the beach. there is some very good boat trips we all went on to the islands and at fantastic cheap prices. all the boats have 2 bathrooms. and you get a free lunch all included. its well worth the price. Every day we all had a massage you can have one right on the beach you just ask for hassan or ali and they will give you a fantastic massage. i have travelled all around the world but they give you the best massage. ever very relaxing. all in all a fantastic holiday we cant wait to go back next year.

I have just spent 6 nights at the Beirut and I must admit when we pulled up in the car I was not impressed, actually I was quite worried. The front of the hotel is a real put off, BUT the pool was lovely, there are 2 beaches, BOTH of which were really nice, although very small. One sloped into the sea and would be OK for children under supervision, and the other beach had a bit of a drop, so would not be advisable for young children. ALL the staff spoke good English, the buffet was great. My main let down was the bathroom, the shower could have been replaced with a new one, but the beds were comfortable, there was plenty of wardrobe space, TV with international stations and the housekeeping was very good. All rooms have air conditioning and a view - ours overlooked the beach and a very small 'harbour'. There is also a kids clud, and with a mix of German, Russian, English, Italian and Egyptian people staying there, the hotel has a really friendly atmosphere and I would highly recommend it for families or couples alike.
I have given it an 'average' rating, but if the bathrooms were updated it would have got an 'above average' from me. Sometimes good and friendly service goes a lot further than some other things.

No nice beach, Many workes at the hotel cant speak english, Nice house-keeping. The hotell is better on pictures than in real. To far away from everything. Okej things for children outside to play with. Okej room but the hotel is to expensive for what you get. Take another hotel if you can.
