It is really difficult to fail this hotel, as all part of our stay there were pretty much faultless. Although I might reiterate a lot from previous comments, after the great job people at Steigenberger have done, the least thing I could do is to leave this review.
Accommodation: It is a perfect family hotel, situate by the sea. The rooms are spacious and clean. Rooms are cleaned daily, with room towels changed daily as well. Beach and swimmingpools are great, especialiy swimmingpool that seems to be the largest in Hurgada, Food: If there is one negative thing I can name about food – it is that it’s very delicious and there is great variety of it. so I end up with daily struggle as what to choose and not get overfull. In short – plenty of delicious dishes every day that should satisfy everybody’s taste i

Room Tip: high floor

This is a very nice and comfortable place to spend your vacation. The buffet has lots of variety and excellent food quality. Entertainment in evening is excellent. Beach is very clean and has plenty of benches and umbrellas to lie under. I just had one complain which is the quality of the alcoholic drinks which needs to be improved. service is excellent.

Staying at the hotel Steigenberger Al Dau Beach for the whole week (22-29.11.12) with a corporate group of 30 persons I've found several important points of leisure:
- everything is FOR YOU here: any request, any service you need, just ask and wait for a few moments;
- all the staff is polite and friendly in any day time, even 4 a m :))
- food. The food is excellent! Believe me, I love to eat much and every day I was satisfied by variety of offers, everything was fresh and every evening something new for the dinner!))
- my group had a conference, that was arranged brilliantly. And every day I saw happy faces of my participants, who were surprised by warm and kindest welcome...
So, hope to come here again as soon as possible on holidays.
p.s. If you need to organize any date, birthday or anniversary or anything else please find the banquet manager, he is splendid!

I stayed in the hotel recently with 8 friends. I believe we were the only English guests there at the time. I will start with, what is wrong with the hotel - hmmm let me think, hold on still thinking - yep nothing. This hotel is absolutely fabulous. The hotel itself has a luxurious feel about it, the grounds are exquisite and the staff are just amazing. A Bonus points is that it is just 10 mins from the airport.

We had a smooth check in despite there being 5 couples and were served fruit juice and champagne while we waited. The rooms were large and well decorated, big flat screen tv and complimentary water. Very comfy beds and pillows. Air con didnt work well, but it wasnt too hot at night. The rooms were kept spotlessly clean and thankfully we didnt have animals made out of towels every day!

The swimming pools were huge (but cold) apart from the hot spa which was around 35 degrees and wonderful late in the afternoon. The lazy river was fabulous. I swam mostly in the sea, which was just possible due to it being very shallow (great for kids).

The food was wonderful. We ate twice in Alexanders and couldnt fault it. 4 courses of wonderful food with plenty of wine. Wasnt so keen on the Lebanese restaurant, but that is just my taste.

Cannot comment on the entertainment as we didnt see it. I believe it started at 9pm and this was around the time we ate. I guess it would have been better for it to have started later, but not a big problem. The piano player in the lobby was very good, but I must admit that the repetition of songs grated on my nerves towards the end of the week.

As this was a relaxing winter break, we didnt go on any trips or venture far from the hotel so cannot comment on this.

The staff were absolutely wonderful. Warm and friendly, particularly the guys from the beach restaurant who also worked at Alexanders in the evening. It was my friends birthday one evening and they went out of their way to make this a special evening for her.

Mostly Russians and Germans at this hotel with a few Egyptians and French thrown in. Found everyone friendly.

I would go back to this lovely hotel at any time. Thank you

I stayed at the steigenberger al dau beach in June 2012 and had a great holiday there so I thought I would give it a try again this november, wow never thought you could improve on perfection! The whole experience was like home from home and I cannot thank the staff at the hotel enough for all they do for you. The food, the rooms, the pool, but especially the staff in the Karubu bar special thanks to Remon, Romany, Michael, John, and the lovely Mohamed I feel as I though I have made some life long friends. The reception staff always helpful, the rooms so clean, the pool staff cannot do enough for you, the pool bar staff great. I would like to thank the general manager for running such a great hotel and will certainly be back next year. I would recommend this hotel to anybody who is looking for a home from home with sunshine thrown in.

Room Tip: I would suggest from third fourth or fifth floor for good views of sea and pool.

LOCATION
The hotel is approx. a 10 minute drive from the airport and in walking distance from the southern centre of Hurghada. Take a cab though if you wish to visit Hurghada (which you actually don’t, more on this below).

Although being close to the airport, commercial aircrafts taking-off or landing are barely audible. However keep in mind that the airport also functions as a military airstrip, and the jetfighters taking-off on occasion you will certainly notice!

HOTEL GROUNDS & POOL
Compared with neighboring hotels, the Steigenberger hotel looks great from both the outside and inside. Very impressive lobby and well maintained grounds. The pool area is stunning with lots of flowers and palm trees. Since the hotel applies a ‘no-reservation policy’, sunbeds are always available on the large or on one of the many smaller terraces around the pool or lazy river. The proximity of the Steigenberger Golf Course gives a very unspoilt feel to the pool area. Great plus is the attending staff around the pool pampering the guests.

Keep in mind that one of the neighboring hotels always plays music during the day and the hotel's animation staff does so on set times, so in our experience it never was quiet at the pool.

RESTAURANTS, SERVICE & HYGIENE
The hotel has one large buffet-style restaurant in the main building, one bistro-style pool-bar and two restaurants beautifully located at the beachfront. Everywhere hygiene appeared to be on the highest level. All eating facilities have decent menu's or buffets with food tasting quite respectable, but don’t expect any real haute cuisine (not even at Alexander’s, which advertises itself as such).

Alas, the service seems to be a bit of a hit-and-miss and at occasion even a little chaotic. Sometimes orders for drinks/food would be taken immediately when seated, sometimes we had to wait for about 15 mins or signal the staff before we were paid any attention.

ROOMS
Rooms are spacious, well-furnished and have good quality super-kingsize beds (200cm/78inch wide). Bathroom is well equipped and has walk-in shower, but with the disadvantage of having a very low sink and toilet compared to European standards.

In general, the quality of house-keeping appeared to be good. The bath and shower could have been cleaned better though (for instance, see photo of showerhead).

SECURITY
Hotel’s management have paid attention to guests’ security, with guards at the entrances to the grounds, at the entrance to the lobby and at the end of the beach. When entering the lobby, everyone has to pass security scans. However, when alarms went off, none of the guards seemed to be least bit bothered by it.

HURGHADA
The small city of Hurghada itself looks like an awful concrete jungle, with no historic centre whatsoever, lots of vacant buildings and some of those construction-sites which never seem to reach completion. My advice: stay inside the walls of your hotel, and the Steigenberger is one of the best to do so.

Room Tip: Send an e-mail to the front desk in advance of your arrival and ask for a room on a high floor. Less...
