From the moment we arrived we were made to feel special. Our youngest daughter said that 'she felt like royalty'. Everything from the exclusive drive to the Baron with the well watered greenery and the avenue of date trees, right up to the Barons magnificent architecture. Once inside, the chandeliers are a truly eye catching welcome and the walk along the deep carpeted hallways, gives a sense that you are aboard a luxury cruise liner. The rooms are spacious and very well attended, with the mini bar being refreshed every day with soft drinks etc. And once you have adjusted to the calm (after your journey), you can really enjoy, what will ensue...

We have never experienced such attentiveness on an 'all inclusive' holiday before. From the Infinity pool, with the ice cold face flannels and sunglass shining, treats, to the non stop poolside service. The staff work relentlessly, to ensure that you are relaxed at every moment.

Food at the Baron is both tasty and imaginative and all of the restaurants, kept our taste buds crying out for more...Our only regret is that the Indian, Thai/Chinese & Japanese restaurants weren't due to open, until September.

You will of course meet the General Manager Ahmed Khaled many times throughout your stay. He is well respected by his staff, who call him 'the man who never sleeps'. From sunrise to sunset (and later), you will see him and his deputy manager helping at breakfast and throughout the day, their only concern is your contentment. Nothing is too much trouble.

The sea is a perfect temperature and especially good for small children as it's a long paddle out to the deep, with an array of beautiful fish along the way. One of our most enjoyable days out was swimming with dolphins. It's an all day trip, with the hotel providing a great packed breakfast and towel (pre-bookable, free of charge). There were 16 tourists of all different ages on our boat, plus crew. Our guide Sparta, was very contagious and soon had us fitted with flippers and a snorkel.

Before we knew it there were about 5 other boats about us, all following the pod of dolphins that were along side. Suddenly, Sparta shouted 'jump' and we followed him into the sea at brief intervals. This was an amazing experience. Dare I say 'wow'. Back on board it was time for the freshly prepared lunch (which satisfied everyone's taste buds). Afterwards we sailed off, to group together with the other boats, for a little snorkelling around the corals and then onto another location for a spot of fishing.

Must admit this is where we all got a little competitive, as when the first fish got pulled out, everyone seemed to want one. Considering we were only fishing with, what can only be described as a, 'crab line', with some calamari on the hook. The catch was amazing.

Next we were off again to snorkel in the azure water around the corals, before sailing back. This was an amazing day out and we can highly recommend it.

We stayed at The Baron Palace from July 25th - August 4th and can honestly say that we all had a wonderful stay. Our sincere thanks go out to all the staff, especially, Sarah, Maria, Lorna, Eshie and Mohamed. If every hotel had a signature song, the Baron's would be, Nina Simone - Feeling good...

We will definitely be back again!

John, Maria & family

One last thing, yes there are the occasional power cuts, but nothing long enough, to disrupt your stay.

Room Tip: The sea view rooms are great :)

The hotel is beautiful and new, the location is perfect for a relaxing couples break. However after a few days you started to see the little things you see and hotels we have stayed in in the past. Total lack of anything to do at night is one of those. There's a show area for children and later adults, this has no bar and is a few minutes walk from the main hotel. We walked down once and couldn't believe in this heat no bar or area for soft drinks was to be found. We spoke to the staff and they just said yes people have mentioned this to us. (Not surprised). The best part of the trip and the place we spent most of the nights was in the Italian restaurant. Which was the best we have been, and staff where great. The hotel is great and staff nice, but me and my partner won't be coming back as they seen to struggle when the hotel is no where near capacity. Needs work!

The hotel is beautiful. The food in the main restaurant is OK. They have 3 a la carte restaurants. The Egyptian restaurant was nothing impressive and strangely didnt taste anything like egyptian food! Plain standard chicken, beef etc with no flavourings or spice and plain standard rice that anyone could cook. The Italian restaurant was Beautiful! Great steak cooked to perfection, great Italian pasta and melt in the mouth lamb chops! the waiter staff at both are great and really friendly. The Infinity restaurant by the pool is also bland and sometimes cold although its to an OK standard. All staff are very friendly Especially the poolbar ladies and lobby bar waiters. 1 thing about the pool bar is they dont do non-alcoholic cocktails. Its strictly fizzy drinks (with or without alcohol) or fruit juice.they use all branded sprite/pepsi/7up and you can drink some branded spirits to,but you have to ask or they give you local. They have 4-5 pools (adults only, heated, kids, jacuzzi) although for a new hotel they are not quite the standard i would expect.Alot of sand, mosiac tiles missing and a major thing was the loose cement slabs around the pool areas were wobbly. This was pointed out to various members of staff who did nothing to fix them. The biggest and most disappointing thing for us was the lack of sunbeds! If you haven't got your towel out by the pool at 07:30am you will NOT find a bed!The hotel has a capacity of 3000 people, there were only 300 whilst we were there and it was impossible to get a bed after 08:30am.Very disappointing! The rooms are cleaned daily, spacious with a very very comfy mattress & pillows! They have lovely soft dressing gowns and flip flops for you to wear.
The hotel manager is literally everywhere!! He will personally greet you and check everything is ok and go out his way to please everyone. They have constant power cuts throughout the day and night sometimes up to 10times per day. This was very annoying as it sometimes took a while for the generators to kick in and i was left in darkness in the bathroom! This also shuts off the aircon so you have to keep switching it back on every 5 mins. They have around 5-6 english channels on the tv with some great new and old films. The lift noise is horrendous! It beeps constantly.Be warned NOT to get a room near the lift.
All in all we had a good stay with no issues.
Positives: Beautiful hotel, staff are friendly, food is good, nice beach, nice pools, nice weather, comfy bed, good tv, free mini bar, fantastic SPA!
Negatives: Not enough sunbeds, constant power cuts day and night, annoying lift noise all day, poor attention to detail at the pool area and Not enough entertainment.
I personally wouldnt come back as i dont think it ticked all the boxes for what we paid. Its overpriced and needs fine tuning with more attention to detail.
One thing i forgot is the iced flannels!! Handed out daily to everyone by the pool/beach...they feel amazing in the blistering heat! :)

Room Tip: Avoid lift areas!
