Wonderfull hotel and amazing staff. Although it was fully booked but we never feel it is overcrowded. Many swimming pools, large food court and enough staff. Great animation team
Only my kids miss kids aqua in the swimming pools.
special thanks to Ahmed and Peter in the reception and chef Thomas for amazing dishes.

We did a cruise & stay holiday from 2nd - 18th June 2014. Staying at the hotel for a couple of days before the cruise & then for a week afterwards. After the wonderful, but busy, time spent sightseeing & cruising down the Nile, it was lovely to come back to this super hotel. Our room was spotless & had a lovely big patio overlooking the pool.
There are a good number of pools including one for adults only "the relaxation pool" which suited us as we were travelling on our honeymoon. The pool areas are all super clean & very spacious (none of that cramming sunbeds in lines that you get in some hotels). The pool staff are very attentive & the hotel runs a "red flag" system - if you don't want to be bothered by the animation team you just pick up your red flag & put it by your sunbed & you don't get asked to join in water polo etc etc.
The main restaurant is spacious though it can get very busy (& noisy) early on but we just chose to eat later when the restaurant is quieter. The food was all well cooked, well presented & varied. The waiting staff are charming & very keen to look after the guests. Vouchers are provided for guests to eat once during their stay at the Italian & the Seafood restaurants, this provides a nice change & these restaurants are much quieter.
Entertainment was provided on a nightly basis in the amphitheatre - I have to say it was not to our taste but that is just a personal thing.
Walking along the jetty is a joy as you can see lots of brightly coloured tropical fish without even getting into the water if you don't want to. There is ample opportunity for snorkeling & a very good water sports centre onsite.
The reception staff were super efficient & checking in & out was quick & easy.
Just one point, the hotel is quite some way from the nearest town - Hurgada about 30 mins in a taxi so if you want nightlife you may want to consider another location.
We would recommend this hotel & it's staff without hesitation. You will have a wonderful time!

Returned from 2 fantastic weeks on the 4th July.
When we arrived the first person to greet us was Rammy with the most welcoming smile on reception. He was the most help full, spoke very good English, nothing was to much for him.
He put us in the beach hotel which is down by the beach perfect. through out the holiday Phil and I would go and see him just to have a good chat and laugh. Thankyou so much Rammy.
Our Beach barman Asharaf you are a very funny man your sense of humour is great, very hard working kept the bar spot less. Never went thirsty there ha ha . all your customers think your great. Aziz our waiter in the main restaurant looked after us making sure we had every thing we wanted . The house keeping manager who ran the whole of the hotel cleaning staff, our rooms were spotless. couldn't fault a thing .
Thomas the general manger of the hotel who would be cooking one minute then picking up anything that had been dropped on the floor the next. i would love to work for a boss like you mucking in. And is running the hotel beautifully . I might take tennis lessons so I can give you a game ha ha. Phil and I cant wait to return to the Cleopatra may be this year if not most deffently next year . Thankyou everyone......

We have just returned from spending two weeks at this hotel and we thought it fantastic!

We arrived at Hurghada Airport at the same time as three or four other aircraft and joined the scrummage that was the queue to purchase your entry visa; this, by the way has now increased in price to $25.Once we had cleared the arrivals hall (hell) we were escorted to our taxi who drove us the half-hour or so to the hotel.
We arrived at around 10pm but no welcome drink which would have been nice after a long journey and were duly checked in to our room (5020) right on the beachfront.Took a little walk to the main part of the hotel and found their late dinner so we could eat something after the journey.

ROOM:
Th room really was very nice with a very large double bed and the usual bathroom facilities and air conditioning as well as a TV. There was a large terrace overlooking the beach with a lawn between the two. The room was kept clean by Alla our friendly housekeeping chap.
NO complaints about the room whatsoever.

FOOD AND DRINK
The food was very good indeed, huge variety every night with something for every taste. I simply cannot believe that people couldn't find something to eat. You can also eat once per week in the two 'a la carte' restaurants. Food in the Italian 'Vista Di Mare' was decent enough and the service excellent. In the Red Lobster, the seafood restaurant, the food was very similar to that in the main restaurant, albeit only fish! However, spend a bit extra and you can have massive King Prawns or Lobster and these were excellent. The setting of the Red Lobster was also rather nice; we ate outside and watched the sun set..lovely evening.
Drinks were not of 'international standard' but we really didn't mind...we didnt go there to get tanked up. The beer was cold and always available and thats pretty much all we drank except the freely available bottled water.
The Pool Bar was our usual hangout...they do food here at lunch-time and its a little more relaxed than going off to the restaurant.
Thanks to Roma and Hamdy.

FACILITIES:
We didn't use too many of the facilities so I cant comment on things like the Spa or the Sports facilities. The dive centre was great though, my wife used it several times and enjoyed all her dives. We used the watersports centre to book a couple of boat trips which we really enjoyed and thanks to Abdo (Mr Handbag!! :-) )who looked after us really well.
The animation team were really cool too...my 19 month old son enjoyed the Mini Disco on most nights (soco baci soco viru....for those that heard it you'll know what I mean when I say I cant get that tune out of my head!). Kiya and Rocky were two of the staff that stood out so thanks to them.
There is also a really great Kids Club which can give you a nice 'time-out' from the heat and the sun. Staff here are very good and there is lots for the little ones to do. The only complaint is that the shade over the pool has not been replaced after being damaged by strong winds so the pool is in in full sun with no shade whatsoever...this ought to be fixed and we were infact told in the first week we were there that a replacement would be installed in a few days time....it wasn't!

GROUNDS:
Although the hotel is pretty big (there are 530 rooms) at no time do you feel crowded. The grounds are enormous and beautifully kept. There were always gardeners tending to the lawns and plants and kept the whole area very clean. Nice to have a walk around the hotel grounds in the evening after dinner.
The maintenance team were ever present and when the plug on our sink broke it was fixed without fuss and quickly. i don't remember his name but the Maintenance Supervisor/Manager for the '5000' rooms is a top chap...very friendly and helpful.

THE POOLS:
If you cant find a pool area that you like here then you must be the fussiest person on the planet! There are 7 (yes 7!!) pools here. A sport pool where the water activities take place. A quiet pool which contrary to the review below is not actually just for adults...just no young children and the signs clearly state that. There are 5 other pools dotted around the hotel and never a problem to find a lounger. The pools are always clean and very well maintained. Towels are available by the pools or by the beach.

BUGS/MOSQUITOS:
Virtually none although we did get bitten a couple of times we could never actually work out what bit us! No cockroaches and this is purely down to the good hygiene practises in the hotel.

STAFF:
Generally speaking they are very good and certainly try their hardest. Just remember this is not a 'European quality' 5* hotel and you'll be fine.
The only issue we had was that some of them did not acknowledge my wife whatsoever...on occasion she was ignored ..........when the particular member of staff would talk to me or make a fuss of our son, she was completely blanked. I realise it is a different culture in Egypt but the hotel is catering to mainly non-Egyptian guests and all staff should therefore know how to talk to and respect women a little more. It's not necessary to be best friends but a simple 'hello' would have been nice rather than the 'avoiding-all-eye-contact-at-all-costs' attitude.

THE OTHER GUESTS:
Guests here were for the most part Russian, German and Czech in that order. There were maybe 10-14 English staying at the hotel. Contrary to some of the reviews there was no problem whatsoever. Remember, this is a very family-orientated hotel so people drinking to excess and causing problems just did not happen.

THE BEACH:
Excellent! Always a lounger to put your towel down on and most are shaded by a palm leaf sunshade...needed,trust me!
The tide does go out quite a way so if you want to swim in deeper water you'll need to walk to the end of the jetty. We didn't mind as the water was perfect for our son to paddle in. Warm shallow and safe. There are a few lumps of old coral you need to watch out for but in general the bottom is sandy.
There is a house reef which is excellent for snorkelling...loads of fish and beautiful corals.

OVERALL:
To sum up, this was a great holiday which we really did enjoy. There are a couple of points mentioned above that really do need to be addressed but in the overall scheme of things didn't detract too much from the holiday. We had a great time and would love to return one day.

Neil Veronika and Christopher

Room Tip: Go for the '5000' rooms...quieter and closer to the beach!

We stayed in this fantastic resort for a fabulous 15 nights in june/july 2014. It is by far the best resort we have stayed in, the staff were excellent and the service faultless. I have read reviews complaining about the food but if you cant find something delicious to eat every day then ,quite frankly, there is something wrong with you. Myself, my wife and our two children aged 10 and 5 fell in love with the place. Our concern before we went was that it would be too hot for the kids but we were delighted to find that with the breeze blowing in from the red sea even on the hottest days the shade gives you great comfort. You will find no better resort for the money and we will definetley be back again, Thank you Cleopatra

I just got back from trying this resort in makady bay. I was told it was a great resort. The rooms, pools and beach are lovely but I have to say the food and dink were terrible. Cheap quality and I know all inclusive can mean bad quality but they really cut corners there. I had to order. Y own, thank god they let me after a big argument. It was very relaxing but again no beach service, you had to walk to get water or a drink, no pool service and children were in the adult relaxation pool. This was not cool at all as I have no children ,I expect an adult pool to be adult pool. There were plenty of pools there and if with a family a nice resort. Not for me I would not go again.

Room Tip: They mostly all gave pool or pool and sea views.

Just got back from a week at cleopatra, such a good holiday. We arrived to welcome drinks and were taken to our room right at the front of the complex, less than a minutes walk and we were on the beach. The grounds are absolutely stunning, very well maintained, every pool was cleaned daily. Couldn't believed how beautiful the setting is here. Our room was spacious and clean and we had a lovely cleaner who picked me fresh flowers from the garden and left them in our room.
The main restaurant had a wide variety of food, fresh fruit and salads, lots of different cakes and ice cream. They even cooked some dishes live and had different theme nights. We always found a clean table and didn't have to queue at all to get in to the restaurant.
What makes this hotel is the staff, they are so friendly and nothing is ever too much. They love English guests and they always made us feel welcome.
The hotel wasn't that full it did get busier at the end of our week but there was never any trouble finding a place by the pool or beach. The adult only pool is lovely and so quiet.
The majority of the guests are russian and German, however, personally we didn't experience any trouble. They were mainly families with small children.
We had a problem with our arranged transfer on the way back and with no trouble at all, our rep arrange a private taxi to take us to the airport free of charge.
Over all we had an amazing holiday in a beautiful hotel. We would definitely recommend.
