“Just what we wanted! ”
Reviewed 12 August 2014 via mobile

Me and my boyfriend stayed here last month and had a lovely time. It's quite far from anything, you can't just walk out of the hotel for a wander but the hotel had everything we needed. A slight negative was that it was too big at times, as it was a bit of a chore when we had to walk to the main reception or main restaurant (call us lazy!) apart from this, it's great! Good food, nice place, quite quiet but this suited us. Would highly recommend the Giftun Island boat trip, it was amazing!

We have just spent 2 weeks at this hotel and had a great time
Check in was very easy and quick. We arrived at 2:30am due to a delayed flight but had a very warm welcome. Bags were taken to our rooms and we were given a rid in a golf buggy.
Rooms are nice. Very clean and well looked after by house keeping (thanks Mohammed)
Air conditioning is great and needed. Our room on did not work fully and was on full or not at all but did not pose a problem. The only downside is we were not given a double bed but 2 singles which we had to push together. TV in the rooms had only a few English channels but served it purpose. We never had room service but it was there. Rooms do not have a kettle but you can hire on for £5 for the entire stay. Tea bags you can get from the restaurant if you run out, but they do not have coffee and you can't buy it from the hotel shop.
The pools are great. Very well maintained and the pool attendants are great. Thanks to ibrahim. There are 4 main pools. One is a relaxing pools so don't expect to use it if you have young kids. Tiles can get slippery when wet so watching kids becomes a must.
Food is very varied and excellent. I don't know how the chefs manage to keep up with demand due to the large amount of people staying but the food never ran out, which can pose a problem on the waistline.
Beach is really nice and the jetty takes you right to the corals. One side has shallow water with a few coral ( great for the younger kids) the other had a large coral reef with deep water and great amount of fish. I had a great time with my kids snorkelling.
All inclusive was great but if you wanted to have drinks back in your room ( not just the water supplied), which the kids always wanted you can buy it from the hotel shop....but a word of caution, the shop is very very expensive. About £3.50 for a 1l bottle and the chocolates are the same. A small bag of sweets for about £4!! My advice, go to cenzo mall which is a short taxi ride and go to spinnys It's a huge shop which is very cheap.
All in all an excellent hotel which is made by its kind hard working staff. If you attempt to speak a little Arabic then it goes down really well.
If your looking for a great place to stay then this is your place.

Lovely hotel, great staff Ahmed the pool man at the family pool Kaih on the animation team and Armed at the divers bar are really nice people, lots of Russian here that like to taste the food off the serving spoon and then put it back, but thats not the hotels fault ..... shopping center in the hotel is a ripp off... On the down side my 7 year old daughter has a severe water infection the started on the last day and has been to hospital twice in 3 days. However we would go back and do things differently.

Room Tip: Go later to the resturants to avoid the rush

Pro's Great location, beautiful setting, gorgeous pools, fantastic staff, gardens beautifully maintained, views from the balcony to die for,
We hired a boat and went snorkelling which was a brilliant day, the crew were very funny and also very kind.
The breakfast at the Red Lobster was great, also the Lunch, the food at the Vista Mare is exceptional,
Beds are firm but comfortable, air con is great when it works, we were in the beach hotel which is very separate from the main hotel so a long walk in the heat, had to ask for a buggy to collect us after I twisted my ankle on the beach.
Cons. The main Restaurant is enormous and very noisy the choice of food is exceptional, but after two very severe upset stomachs, I stuck to very plain food, the Vista Mare Italian restaurant was fab, great food lovely staff, worth going to more than the once, the Red Lobsters set menu needs changing very boring and not great, again upset tummy after visiting,
The check in wAs a little slow and the keys were temperamental, the toiletries were not replaced every day, and the room fridge was only stocked once, during our stay, there is no room service neither is there any kind of drinks service around the pools, The huge number of families that seemed to take over the resort were even more intimidating than the Russians and Germans, it was Ramadam while we were there so was packed with families,
The little shopping mall in the hotel is ridiculously expensive avoid it, there is a run of shops just past the Jetty which are much better value
With a little effort this could truly be an exceptional hotel, but with the constant power cuts and the upset tummy, which I am still suffering from and am going to have have treatment for, it doesn't quite hit the mark. The final thing that infuriated us was the complete lack of WiFi in our rooms, we always have to work some time in the day while weare away and I booked this place because it stated wifi was available in rooms, it isn't so we had to hike up to the lobby at least once a day to send and receive emails.

Room Tip: We were in the beach hotel 1319 great room but you need to be fit to hike up to the lobby and the re...
