5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 March 2014

With a 1837 ft private beach, this 5-star resort occupies a prime location on Makadi Bay. Overlooking the Red Sea Mountains, it boasts a lagoon-style pool, spa and a diving center.

Elegant rooms at the Tia Heights are spacious and are equipped with floor-to-ceiling windows. Modern amenities include satellite TV channels and air conditioning. Private bathrooms with hairdryer are standard.

Guests can swim in the indoor pool, work out at the gym or visit 1 of the hotel’s 4 tennis courts. Professional entertainment is available daily and desert safaris can be arranged with the tour desk.

Tia Heights Makadi Bay has 14 dining options, offering oriental cuisine and seafood. Italian specialties are served at Aladdin Restaurant, while drinks and cocktails are available at the on-site nightclub and bars.

The hotel is on Hurghada – Safaga Road and only 16 miles from Hurghada International Airport. The center of Hughada is a 35 minute drive away and a courtesy shuttle bus is available.

We spended a week in the hotel because the divecenter we use was nearby. 90 %of the customers r from eastern europe/russia. Their behaviour can seem very rude to western people. Noisy hotel. Lousy food.

Greeting

I am really sorry you feel this way. We do appreciate all kind of guests from all over the world and we do our best to personalize services to accommodate different and specific needs. I find it really not acceptable that you have an opinion about "Eastern Europeans) and you are rating the hotel low based on your personal opinion of others not the hotel. I ask you to change this rating to reflect our service and product. I do appreciate your response.

Every day fresh fruits, and delicious food. Even food prepared while you wait for your order. There are also seperate sections for European guests if you wish to go there but me and my family liked to sit outdoors surrounded by the pool of the hotel.
The animation team can be found near beach from morning till afternoon and in the evening between restaurant and just outside near reception for evening entertainment.
There is also a nice aqueaparc in the front,
Your suitcases will be brought and picked up with hotel tuk tuk's
and there are many other trips to be booked at hotel... safari, henna, snorkling/diving, different kind of boat trips and windsurfing (what was very nice since the instructor knows a little bit of Dutch what was very pleasent for my children).
Also no one bothers you, at hotel/beach.

Very pleasent stay.

Only down part is the distance to Hurghada centre but that is just if you wish to go there, enough to do at hotel and good animation team.

Just returned from 11 nights staying at the Tia Heights Makadi Bay. Upon arrival we were shown the Dune rooms but after seeing a couple we spoke to the Manger who showed us the rooms we wanted and upgraded to a sea view room numbers 2152 2154 which were a stone throw from the beach overlooking the red sea and the huge swimming pool but far enough away to be very peaceful at night. They have mad a good effort with these rooms with flat wall mounted TV and very large comfortable bed. The TV did show all English football matches although commentary was in German but my husband was pleased to watch! We travelled with another couple and were there for rest and relaxation. We felt disappointed that not all restaurants advertised were open but our rep spoke to the hotel and they handled it perfectly. Sharif looked after us all with exceptional attention arranging a special meal to be cooked for us and also arranging two extra evenings of special food we requested. There was nothing they could not do to make us feel very welcome .The buffet is of a very high standard but the waiters would wait on us although it was fun to walk round seeing what was on offer. The hotel has mainly Russian staying and this does reflect in choice but there was always a good selection and everything was cooked perfectly and so many flavours it was a pleasure to try everything!

The beach restaurant serves the best French fries ever! We did not always go to breakfast choosing fresh orange juice and coffee instead at the beach bar. The beach was busy in the morning but the beach staff are great they keep it spotless but in the afternoon it was quiet my favourite time to read soak up the sun and sleep. ~The animation team were exceptionally good the best I have seen and spoke to us in fluent English each day. They work very hard but seem to be laughing all day. There shows in the evening were of a very high standard even Russian Karoke was fun Lots to do if you want to join in - great for children the beach and clear blue sea to swim/play in Waterpark (best I have seen) kiddie club. We did not have children with us so soaked up the cocktails, wine all of a good quality and enjoyed the disco which serves drink till 2 am when it closes. This is very good as a lot of other hotels stop serving on AI earlier. The bar in the foyer is open 24 hrs and serves great coffee and once again the staff were extremely efficient and always smiling. The atmosphere was very relaxing. Ok so this is advertised as 5 star and it certainly meets 5star but a little maintenance on some of the rooms and Spa is needed but would we return. YES and definitely take the grandchildren. For a winter holiday with temp of 25 in the day cooler at night most definitely. So we returned home feeling very relaxed and had been made to feel very special. I would highly recommend the hotel and felt quite sad to leave.

Room Tip: 2152 and 2154

This hotel is huge and has a nice location.
In all inclusive you have food and drinks, beach towels, indoor pool and fitness gym and 1 entry in the aquapark in front of hotel.
But when you will reserve the room an pay +50 euros/person for a room with direct seaview you will not have it. You can see the sea behind the palmas if you are lucky and thats all.We had all inclusive but the food in the main restaurant is not so good. Almost every vegetable and meat is just mixed in some sort of goulash with sauce. Not only grilled vegetable or meat. Not even the good choice of bread or baguettes. If you want to have something not sweet for breakfast the best choice is the fresh pita made by an old woman. For a lunch I strongly recommand you the La Caravane restaurant on the beach where you have french fries and ketchup and good kari rice and fish and another meat sometimes...Anyway the arabic people in this hotel are prefered and will always have something that you even cant ask the cook(even if you point finger on it, he will offer you only the things of buffet not the things behind his back:)There are also a lot of russian people who will just drink all day and don t speak another language.
On the beach you will exchange two cards from reception by the two towels but be careful and don t leave towels during the lunch on the beach. The hotel guys will take the seats and also the towels:)
The beach is really nice, with sand and if you want to see some little coral you can just go more far to the boats on the right. Please be careful in the water, we saw also the raya not so far from the beach but the water is really clean so you will see it.
On the beach you can borrow electric bicycles but you can not go with them by the beach promenade(the guy will tell you everything you want but it s not true:) so it is giid when you want to go see the two main streets of makadi and have a look on restaurants and shops.
On the beach they will offer you henna tattoo, beauty salon and masages with spa, quad safari (attention there are 3: 2 hours, safari for families with camel and horse ride and egyptian dance and belly dance and terarium and than super safari when you go longer by quand to see beduins and sunset), boat trips with snorkle or dive(if you want to see the dolhpins I recommand you to go to Dolphin world or Dolphin House). For safari I recommend you the Alex Safari based in El Gouna(if you contact him by internet you can agree that they will take you from Makadi).
The cleaning service was really perfect. In the rooms you just have to accept that your arabic neighbours will turn on their music really loud and their children will play futball inside the hotel corridors.
For the shops in Makadi Bay I can recommand one little shop, when you are face to face to hotel Saraya you go to the right up the street and than to the left direction to all little shops (another direction than Soukh Makadi) and the first little shop with a nice guy in the optic glasses named Mohamoud Nor is the best for you. You will not have to negotiate a lot the price and he will give you the best prices of all Makadi. He will also advice you about Alex Safari.
The shops in Hotel are not the good ones, for the wooden statues just avoid the guy with no hair, he is really angry if you don t buy his expensive things. For scarfs (arafat and another) you will buy the best in the airport in the shops but only on the way back to home:)

If you are travelling with FTI Reisen their delegate will ignore your meeting and you all the time,he will not come to hotel and when you will try to call to the agency they are not speaking any other language than arabic so the receptionist will have to translate and is not so nice with this.

The personel of hotel in restaurants and on the beach is really nice, not the personel on the reception. They will not give you the information about all inclusive, hotel or anything: you have to ask and even than its goings really hard.

The whole Makadi bay is good for the people who like to stay in Resort, for us it was enough for 7 days but it should be nice in another hotel.
In january the weather is nice, you can sunbath and swim until 16:00, than you have cold a little bit. In the evenings it s good to have not only T shirt and shorts..

Room Tip: Dont pay extra costs for seaview it s not worthy! You will not have the real direct seaview just the...
