Just got back from 2 weeks in Hurghada staying at this hotel ,there were 5 of us, our kids aged 18,16 and 11 and wife and myself.Food was very good with a lot of choice ,we had breakfast in Mexican restaurant as it was close to our rooms and nice and fresh with choice of cooked breakfast, cereals, yogurts, toast etc. Main Restaurant was very busy at lunch times when opened at 12.30 so left it till 1.30 then could get a table no problem and food always fresh, evening meals we ate around 8.30 to let young families eat theirs ready for kids disco, choice of rice, pasta, chips with different fish, beef and chicken dishes and again always freshly cooked.(No pork as Muslim country). My son did miss bacon for his breakfast.
The animation team were always upbeat and liked to have a chat and there were different activities in the morning and afternoon from archery, belly dancing , darts and table tennis to water polo,aqua-gym and beach volleyball and even capoeira the martial art to name only a few,you could take part or not with no pressure, they worked hard all day and were always up for a laugh in the evenings and always put 100% into the shows they did on stage. a big thankyou to,Sebastian, Brown, Boko,John, Morisio and Kareem to name a few, the whole crew were brilliant.
The pools were huge with lots of space to mess around in and as long as you got your towels down between 8 - 8.30 you had a choice of beds .I often put the towels down then went back to the room and had a coffee on our balcony( a very nice way to start the day) and the private beach was just behind the main pool with proper sand ( in Sharm El Sheik it is mainly corel beaches with walkways out to the sea) and a nice safe shallow beach with lots of different water sports to do.
We did 2 trips, the Maymaha island trip is a must as the beach there is white sand with beautiful blue/green water and so clear you can see the fish 20ft down and they provide the snorkels, flippers and life jackets if you want one,the food was nice there as well although you do have to buy your own drinks, just getting there was a treat as you felt like you were on a yacht for the hour crossing and back ,we left at 8.20 and got back at 5.00 a very good day.
The second trip I did myself as it was a 5am start to Luxor it was 4 hours on a bus so not really for young children but the Karnak Temple was amazing and had 45 mins to have a good look around then a nice meal on a Nile cruise boat and to the valley of the Kings which was excellent although you are not allowed to take photos there anymore and you have to pay extra to go in and see tutankhamun, who is still in his tomb in a glass case now, although all the gold is in the museum in Cairo ,there are other tombs you can look in as well.then a papyrus shop and an alabaster shop and a half hour boat trip up the nile. a long but very good day.
We,ve been to Egypt 7 times and this hotel is the best overall.
Thankyou for an excellent holiday!!
