It's a great hotel where you can enjoy your family holiday, and fully trust that your children's are safe, playing very well in a great green area, nice and safe seeming pool just near to the beach, even the beach is totally safe as well for the children's and for us too, where you can enjoy the corals and the nice collets fish,
Service is great with nice friendly way , staff are all nice specially at the restaurant as the food was good, chef Adel was nice with us and he understanding the children's needs concerning the children's food.
and Ahmed at the beach was very helpful,
Allot if chooses you have at the Hotel like sports area , 2 tennis courts , beach volleyball bing bong table, health club (gem, spa), billiard table, moreover you can enjoy running on the beach morning or evening time,
It's great healthy Hotel,
The most beautiful thing is to have your morning or evening tea on the terrace area with wonderful wither feels like you are in the heaven .
I will recommend it to all my friends in or out Egypt,

A.A Family

Overall satisfaction score    (0-10).  4.1

Stay away from that hotel.

Food: I only had one dinner and one breakfast in that place and was way too much.
 Score: 2.0
Quality: Most of it was awful, few things had a decent quality.
Variety:They only had two things to eat, and I cannot tell but probably everyday is the same thing.

Room: Recently "remodeled", the old furniture was painted with a horrible gray shade and a solvent smell still present.
Score 4.0
Size: Small
Bed: It is hard and uncomfortable, the sheets were gray not white and one pillow case was stained with black spots.
Furniture: Old and run down, recently painted.
Bathroom:Very small, a combination of old things with a few new ones. Towels were old and need to be replaced.
Decoration: No decoration.
Cleanliness: The room itself was acceptable clean.

Technology:  Score. 4.0
TV: Small HD with hundreds of Arabic channels and two in English
Internet: Not available.
Entry system: Regular card operated
Safe: Not found

Common areas:    The common areas have the feeling of a ghost town.
Score: 1.0
Cleanliness:Mostly dirty and in need of a lot of attention or remodeling.
Decoration:Not decoration at all.
Swimming pool:Empty and in construction.
Gym:Not such a thing.

Staff:   Score 6.0
Attentive but not warm or welcoming.

Location: Score 8.0
Is located over a big lot with water front to the red sea, the beach is nice but very rocky out and in the water in some areas. The sea is very calm and relaxing. It has a little pier where by night you can see scorpion fish eating and swimming peacefully. There is coral nearby but I didn't have a chance to snorkel it to check it

where to start??...we had booked this via teletext, the pics looked great, we were picked upfrom the airport by our egyptian diving friends.
we handed our printed hotel voucher to the two male receptionists...we were given no welcome, no eye contact, no greeting at all, one man looked at our voucher and 'huffed' to himself, while continuing to take a telephone call, another told us to sit down in the reception area without saying why, our friends asked them if there was a problem,he was told they had to go find the booking on the e mails and to check with the manager??.
after the booking had been found, i had a key card shoved in my hand, no explanation of where we had to go, the details of our package(what was and wasnt included etc, we were all inclusive, i know some beers and spirits etc are extra).
a 'bellboy' took us to our room, he was very polite and friendly, but we still had to ask where the restaurant/pool/amenities were, he took us to the restaurant, where he stood and waited for a tip....we didnt have money to give him and told him so.
ROOM....i am putting pics on here as proof of the state of the room, felt unclean, the shower was dirty and needed resealant doing, a broken window handle, a rusty shelf in the fridge, dodgy wiring on the lamp, a phone that didnt work, and outside seating that was ...well.....disgusting.
RESTAURANT...we arrived on our first night in there about 815pm (not late)...it was empty...even so the waiter had to run around and sort us out a table???...the food was only ok...i have been to Egypt twice before...the food was better then..the windows in the restaurant were constantly open..(no air con?)..giving way to lots of flies landing all over the food.
BEACH...very pretty views from the beach, although there seemed to be a lack of security...allowing camels to exrete on the sand and this was not cleaned up until the next day...so we had to be careful going for a walk there.
BEACH BAR...very sparse on drinks...we had a choice of rum/brandy/vodka/beer/pepsi/7up...in plastic small cups(this was the same for all meals).
POOL...one pool....needed fixing round the edges...dirty on the bottom....brickwork around the walkways needs repairing...badly!!
PATHWAYS....they were obviously doing repairing and updating during our stay...half the footpaths were being dug up and relaid ....which made it hard to relax during the day due the constant banging and clattering noise of workmen.
SHOPS...there were 2 shops selling the usual gifware etc...there is no bank in case you need to change travellers cheques...there is an ATM in reception...there is wifi(when reception could be bothered to get the password for me) it was charged at 12el per day.
sitting in reception was a big no no...the doors were always open giving way to lots of mosquitoes all the time( i have added pics to show the effect this had on my legs)
we had booked 2 weeks here...we only stayed for 1.....our friends arranged for us to stay at the AQUAMARINE SUNFLOWER HOTEL in taba.
overall this was a horrid time for me here in this hotel...most of all reception were horrendous...and need some lessons in manners at least!!!.
i would not reccommend this hotel to anyone at all........im sure it could be a lovely resort....but it should be repaired while there are no guests...and when the staff have learned manners and friendliness....my husband and i are both from catering backgrounds so its not just hot air
we were the only english people here too...so we were quite a novelty...

Room Tip: ask for a suite when booking...if not you might be dissapointed.

I spent two nights at the Helnan to do some canyon hiking and to climb Mount Sinai. If you are planning to do the same, that place is a good option, but I would not have liked to stay for a week or even two.

The rooms are a bit run down but seemed clean enough. The bed linen and towels were clean and the bed comfortable. I could recharge my batteries without an adapter and the safety box worked perfectly. Just opening the room with my keycard from the outside was often challenging. The beach is fairly clean and nice. If you like to have a walk along the beach with your feet in the water it will be a stony affair, though.

I cannot say anything about lunch and dinner since I had booked b&b only. The breakfast buffet was not very tasty but not of poor quality either - something inbetween if you ignore the very bad and greasy pancake the staff was trying to prepare freshly for me. The front staff is nice and tries to help as much as they can which requires some patience and time, though.

Please AVOID the taxi driver MUSA at any cost. His knowledge of English is so limited it almost got me into trouble when he did not understand the difference between Taba port and Taba border the day I wanted to go back to Jordan. He tried to overcharge me and threatened to take me back to the hotel if I would not pay. Highly unpleasant experience with a dishonest guy. The night before he pretended to know the restaurant Mondial in Tarabin but funnily enough had to ask for the way and still kept searching around for a while.

IF YOU ARE A CAFÉ-LOVER: Discovering the LITTLE PRINCE COFFEE SHOP in Nuweiba City made my short stay in Egypt more than worthwhile. Run by a charming French-Egyptian couple it is such a gem of a café with oriental style interior and the best ice-cream (fresh natural ingredients!) I could savour while travelling the Middle East. Like in Italy. You can choose from different flavours.
Leaving the gate of the Helnan you will discover the first sign of this coffee shop. Turn right after the gate and the next street right again. Walk straight on and you will see another sign. Then you will already spot the coffee shop and its big wall painting of the famous little prince in the distance. You cannot miss it.
Since the hostess loves travelling you can even read copies of the Little Prince in different languages she is collecting and listen to her inspiring travel experiences. It is a truly special place in Nuweiba. Thank you so much again for your help, our long and interesting conversation and the free lime juice.
All the best to both of you, Fuad and your little princess:0)))

We were there in july 2010 and it was beautiful. Unfortunately there were only 10-12 guests becuase of the uproars in Cairo... For us it was great, we had the pool for ourselves, but seeing 20 employees runing up and down only for us was a little bit embarassing! Part of the resort was already renovated and our room was really modern, clean and the stuff more than nice! The location is breathtaking and one can also get easily to Israel or Jordan (Petra)!
We enjoyed it very much and we also recommend it for those who want to take a break from the daily stress!

Just stayed at the Helnan Nuweiba Bay Resort and it was fairly good. It really depends on your expectations; it doesn't match upscale beach resorts of Hawaii or Mexico, but is fine for a mid-range sort of place. The beach is fairly nice, the coral offshore is good for snorkeling, and there are good restaurants a couple hundred meters away if you don't want to pay for the fairly expensive buffet meals at the resort. The bar on the beach does serve reasonable pizzas ($4) if you just want to stay on site. The pool is attractive but not heated, and was much too cold for a dip when we were there in January. I wouldn't recommend staying at Helnan too long unless you want lots of quiet time.
