Firstly I would like to say this hotel would be great if you are travelling with kids, but if you aren't then you may feel like you're in the middle of a crèche at times as people do let their kids run wild.
Our first impression of this hotel was not a good one, you are supposed to leave your suitcase outside while the concierge take you to your room and bring up your suitcase later. However the concierge disappeared and we had no idea where we were supposed to go, so after complaining to the reception staff one of them took us to our room. Though once we got to our room we were pretty pleased with it as it was clean, a good size and the air con is great. The maids always leave patterns made of towels or sheets on the bed, our fave being an alligator :) I would recommend getting a pool view as we had a supposed garden view which was really just a view of the scruffy back end of some buildings however this didn't really bother us.
The pool area is great, it was clean and there was always a selection of sun beds without having to get up at the crack of dawn to reserve one. The swim up bar is fab and Mohamed who works there always serves you with a smile on his face. The same can't be said for all the hotel staff as some of them look really miserable, one even sternly told me off in the restaurant for using a carton of milk in my tea as you are only supposed to get it out the urn (silly me!).
The beach at the sister hotel is ok, there's a mile long jetty where you snorkel at the end, it's not that great as its pretty shallow and I think everyone has trampled on any coral that was once there. I would recommend taking the shuttle bus over because although it's not far to walk its hard work walking in the blazing heat.
The food in the buffet restaurant is average, you're best going after 8 ish for your evening meal as it's like a stampede if you go any earlier. The a la carte Italian and Chinese restaurants are really nice, we were surprised as you would think more people would take advantage of them but they were never busy.
The evening entertainment seemed to be focused a lot on children which was very disappointing as there wasn't much for adults. The outside seating area was also completely inadequate for a hotel of this size, the tables were usually all gone by 8pm. Our theory was that it was done this way to encourage people to have to leave the hotel for the evening so they weren't hammering the all inclusive drinks. There's an English run pub called The Three Crowns next door which is pretty good if you can't get a table or don't fancy the kiddies disco.
If you're planning to go on any excursions then there's a place over the road that sells them cheaper than Thomsons but are just the same, I think Thomson rip you off. The reps made very little effort and didn't bother to mingle with anyone, not like the Russian rep who was always chatting to her guests.
All in all this hotel is 'ok', not sure I would stay here again, I probably wouldn't recommend it unless you are travelling with kids.

The Tropicana Azure Club. Me and my family stayed 14 to 22 May 2013 . I cant really fault the hotel. The staff are all polite and for a £1 tip at the start of your stay they will do anything for you. The drinks are from a never ending supply all your bottled water is on supply and free of charge. Water is left in your room daily by the maid service. The hotel was clean, you can see the cleaning and maintenance being done 24 hours a day. Food is on offer most of the day somewhere around the hotel with a vast variety to suit all tastes and appetite. The food is nice but has the Egyptian taste, what more would you expect your in Egypt not in England! The pool was clean but was to deep in parts not for the none swimmer and children should be kept around the sides that have been roped off. Entertainment was at a minimum but was still nice. The only thing I can fault the Hotel on was the constant pestering from one hotel shop keeper in particular he was a nuisance all the stay and would not take no for a answer. Something else that's not anyone's fault is the Mosquitoes lots of people were getting bitten really bad, OH AND THE DOCTOR IS A REALLY GOOD INSURANCE CLERK! Going out of the Hotel you get pestered to go in shops and ride camels, If you want to go on a camel then do it but if you don't want to don't give them eye contact.
All in all we had a nice holiday and enjoyed it hope you do the same

This was our 5th stay in 6 years at the Azure Club. As always we had a lovely time. BUT sadly it seems that Thomson are determined to ruin the resort. As far as I am concerned turning it into a Family Resort was a big mistake. The complex is compact and although it may have the largest single pool in Sharm it does not have the space nor facilities for the hoards of uncontrollable brats that the "Family Resort " tag has attracted to it. During our stay very few parents kept control of their children and I doubt that many knew where their little angels were for most of the time. The Thomson Annimation team were all but invisible except for a couple of hours in the afternoon in the pool. They were never friendly or helpful and if you didn't read the notice board several times a day then you didn't know what was going on because they never put themselves out to let you know. They also made no attempt to control the kids running across the stage etc during the odd times that they did decide to organise evening shows etc. The Russian Annimation Team on the other hand were always friendly and helpful all day and were the only ones we saw mingling with the guests and they always had smiles on their faces. The hotel staff as usual were friendly, helpful and would do anything to help. We only had one problem and that was with the drink waiters who changed in our second week. The first crew bent over backwards to make sure you were never without a drink and always had a table. Those during our second only seemed interested in collecting empty glasses. On one occassion when we asked for a coffee for our wheelchair bound mother, we were told to go to the bar ourselves, from that moment on we didn't even bother asking the waiters for help. I have read reports that the pool and grounds are dirty or poorly maintained. All I can say to this is that in 5 stays at the Azure Club the pool and grounds have been spotless and well kept. The food at the Azure Club has always been good, but this year we noticed a great improvement in variety and quality.
To sum everything up, I cannot fault the hotel or its staff,(except for a few drinks waiters). BUT I do think Thomson should reconsider the "Family Resort" tag and seriously look into its annimation teams enthusiasm for their work outside of the pool. The Azure Club would make a superb adults resort. The Grand Azure across the road with all its extra facilities should be the "Family Resort".
My wife and I dearly want to return to the Azure Club for a 6th time next year. The only reason we are hesitant is the "Family Resort" tag may have ruined the hotels charm by then. When inconsiderate parents allow their kids to ruin other peoples enjoyment and think that it's funny then staff members should step in and take control. Many who read this will sympathise with what I have said and those that don't will be the parents of the brats in question.

Room Tip: If you want sun on your balcony from mid morning onwards go for a pool view in blocks 1,3,5,7,9 or 4...

We've just returned, had a brilliant holiday
Clean hotel, friendly staff, food not to everyone's taste but lots of choice and all well cooked, I'm quite fussy but had no problems finding something every meal time.
The kids club staff were great, really enthusiastic, my 4 year old loved the kids entertainment in the evenings.
The main pool got very busy but the smaller pool was much quieter, we spent 2 days at the beach at the sister hotel which was lovely, you need something on your feet though as the sand is quite grainy and hard.
We had a fantastic week, the only thing that would put me off going again is the location, it's really hard to go for a stroll outside the complex as the local shop keepers will do everything to get you to go into their shops including giving gifts to children which can be quite uncomfortable of course this is no fault of the hotel.
I would also recommend the English bar which is literally just outside the complex gate, it's really reasonably priced and great food!

We stayed in May 2013 the Hotel was brilliant nothing was to much trouble were at first put in a room up two flights of stairs with a toddler and pushchair was not ideal we asked the next day for a low floor room and were allocated one with no problem and also helped to move!! The staff were really friendly and all the waiters especially the one at the pool bar. The food was really good and even the fussiest of eaters will find something to eat. The rooms a spacious with good air conditioning. Would recommend this Hotel. The only thing that spoilt the holiday was the 38hr 40 min delay flying home to Birmingham we were treated like a herd of cattle by Thomsons and moved to Jazz Mirabel Hotel not a patch on the Tropicana Azure in our opinion and this is supposed to be 5 star! James the rep at out hotel was so helpful in total contrast to the one at the Jazz Mirabel where everyting just seemed to be to much trouble. I would recommend the Tropicana as we had a great time.

We stayed here in August 2012. As soon as we arrived we were impressed with the level of service from the hotel. The room was ready, large and clean. We didn't have a great view, but we hadn't requested that, and we didn't feel it was a big deal once there. The pool was very large , on our 3rd day is got rather dirty but we noticed it was being cleaned (it did take 2 more days to be completely clean again due to it's size) there was an other pool on site and slides too. Buffet restaurant was basic, but there are 2 other bookable restaurants on site which were both nice. We did eat out a lot to be honest. Try the Pub next door and tgi fridays - both very good. We booked with Thomson and took advantage of there entertainment and kids club as well on going on many of the trips they organised. All good standard.
* Check the dates of your holiday - we stayed durning a holy week which meant there were alot of Egyptians there at the same time, they were loud and took over the reception area durning the day, the buffet restaurant became over crowded, so the hotel opened a separate area for the brit pack.
