Spent a most enjoyable week in November 2012 as a family of 2 adults and 2 children aged 10 and 13.

Our family room was excellent – large, clean, brand new with excellent fit and finish. Patio doors gave immediate access to pool area and sun loungers, just down from the main restaurant. Large choice of food and the restaurant greeter Dinah made our boys feel welcomed and important every evening. Daily newsletter with our evening meal was a nice touch and gave us information on events and weather (reliably warm and dry).

Bar staff were very attentive, especially Hanay who knew our regular order within a day.
Guest reception and customer relations were very helpful at all times. We would particularly appreciated the Dutch lady who sought suggestions on how to improve the resort and actually got these acted on. Our main suggestion was implemented within 2 days.

This newly built part of the complex is built back from the original Reef Oasis hotel . The animations and entertainment is still based in this area, which also has a selection of hotel shops, pharmacy and provides access to a private beach.

The main town area is 10 to 15 minutes walk in the opposite direction, where there is a pedestrianised shopping area with the obligatory McDonalds, Starbucks, KFC, Costa and Pizza Hut.

Overall, we felt this was a super hotel and really enjoyed our stay,

Room Tip: We enjoyed our room adjancent to the pool and beside reception, near to Mo's restaurant.

Stayed at the Sentido this year Christmas eve till New Year's Eve , what a hotel, clean does not come close to describing the place, their was not one spec of dust anywhere to be seen. The staff are fantastic, Mahmoud the room cleaner ( 2116) was a star ,every day we has a towel art sculpture on the bed and the room was always very clean. The beach was brilliant and Walid the beach bar man was very attentive to our every needs. The snorkelling is the best I have ever done, and the reef is so clean and full of fish, water temp 28 degrees , weather 30's every day. However the food side does need looking into, great choice, but just about warm and certainly not hot, watch out for the wine menu it's expensive, make sure you know the conversion from your currency to Egyptian pounds, I did not take much notice and paid £62 for a bottle of Chilian wine ......do! But all in all a great experience and a brilliant hotel.

This is a very nice hotel,we stayed here 15 Dec to 29 Dec. The rooms are of a good size and standered however they do not have flat screen tv in as stated and our tv was very old and did not work properly and the one in my daughters room did not work at all,but hey who goes on holiday to watch tv ? It is a very clean hotel in all areas and service overall is good however you do get just an handfull of staff who are a little rude and idle and just can't be bothered at times! I do think they need to look at the cocktail menu as there is not much choice and it is the first hotel in Egypt i have been to where there is not even a tequila sunrise on the menu and somtimes they all seemed to have the same in them and were quite poorley made!! The food was good and can't complain the only thing was that they were all buffet and i do think it would have been nice to have had proper a la cartes the Cactus bar was nice but you only had a few things to pick from and had to pay for anything a little nicer like steak but we have had this before in 5* resorts so i found a bit of scabby chicken and old very chewy beef a little poor. The indian was nice but buffet again and no indian starters it would have been better as a la carte. The pools were very cold but i bet the aqua park is great in summer. I think the resort would benefit from patio heaters at night as it is cold in December. Just a quick mention to Abdou and Ahmed at the Colombus pool who were exellant and really looked after us.

Just got back from a Christmas week break at this hotel with my daughter, cant rate it as 5 star. Was welcomed very well by reception staff. Our bags were taken to the room by a member of staff who was in such a rush, we were practically running to keep up, he informed us he was due to leave work! Went to the bar to order a drink, member of staff looked at me and said 'what'? Both issues were reported to reception. In the dining room we were shown to tables by a very pleasant members of staff, the tables often were not laid properly i.e. cutlery, cups missing, hot food was warm, not hot. Salads and desserts were good. The arena situated a 5 min walk from our room was noisy by night often 1.30 to 2am finish, because balcony doors dont close tight the noise level was high. The hotel is clean, most staff are polite. The beach area is pleasant, but would not stay here again.

We stayed for a week over christmas and can highly recommend the Sentido. The staff are attentive and friendly at all times and Erna who greeted us on arrival, always stopped by for a friendly chat throughout our stay. The hotel is kept spotless and is certainly very classy. There are numerous pools, but not being heated are really more water features at this time of year. There is 1 heated pool which is crystal clear and a real joy to swim in, adjacent to Mo's restaurant. The restuarant food at Mo's is more than acceptable and the service excellent. The animation team, including Keishia and Serena, are 1st class and dedicated to their work, and even on chilly evenings put on a good show at the adjoining resort. By way of advice or critique, I would suggest that there is little by way of evening entertainment aimed at the typical Sentido guests, who after the pianist has left are more or less left to sit with their ipads etc.before wandering off to bed. The 11pm to 1am disco, avilable in the connected resort, simply pumps out trance music, which judging by the attendance is clearly not suited to most if not all of the guests. Sentido would do well to consider a music (60s,70s, soul , motown, salsa, abba etc) bar format through the evening where guests could drink, dance and socialise. The all inclusive drinks are a little limited and stepping up to normally moderatly priced wines is quite a hike. Outside the resort is quite an eye opener. I never knew the egyptain gods were so big on ash trays and LEDs. By way of guest advice I would suggest that the the wind can be a bit chilly and the sun sets early so packing an extra jumper is a great idea. The aqua park looks amazing, but again unheated, ie pack a shortie type dive suit for the kids and then they can really make the most of this and the sea.

We just returned from a week at this hotel. We decided to spend our Christmas holiday in the sun. It was our first vacation in Egypt so we can not compare to any other resort or area in this country. Our feedback is therefore made on on the basis of our experiences in staying at hotels and resorts in other countries (holiday as well as business) all over the world.

We read the reviews of other guests before booking this hotel and they where all very promising. Now - we do not fully agree with the overwhelming ratings many guests leaves here. That does not mean that we are dissatisfied. It is a good hotel and the management and the staff shows high ambitions. I would rate them as a 4 star hotel. Not 5 stars.

Here are some detailed observations:

The facility: The Sentido hotel is more elegant and sophisticated than the "Beach hotel" (which is part of the big complex). Sentido is calmer and have a much nicer atmosphere. So if this is what you are looking fore - this is the right place for you. The entire facility is very stylish, clean and well kept.

The room: We booked a superior room and we actually expected more than what we got. The size of the room was ok. It was also very well cleaned and surprised us with new creative bed decorations every day (thank you Mahmoud for this). On the negative side is the limited wardrobe space. What you find in this room is ok for one guest. Way to little for two. Another disappointment was sloppy renovations done in the bathroom. Please note that we would not mention these things if it would have been a mid-tier hotel. But now we are rating a resort with high ambitions...

The food and the restaurants: You will find plenty of restaurants to choose between. And they are all included for you as a Sentido guest (except the Moonshine restaurant). You will probably also (like we did) pretty soon have all your meals at Mo's. This since this restaurant have the nicest atmosphere. The others are rather loud and busy compared to Mo's. The food is ok. The quality of the food is more than ok. The buffet selection is a bit limited compared to what we have experienced at other all inclusive resorts. Another restaurant we recommend is Cactus Bar. Here you will choose your own meat for the barbecue. Really delicious. Stay away from the Italian restaurant. It is loud and awful.

The location: There is a shopping mall in a walking distance (about 15 minutes) from the facility. Besides that the resort is quite isolated since you will need to take a taxi to Old Market (in Hadaba) or Nama Bay for some more commerce or entertainment. The entire area with the beach is facing south. The beach is surrounded by cliffs and therefore well protected from the wind. There is a fantastic coral reef along the beach offering you great snorkeling for your entire stay. You can enjoy the reef and all the colorful fish without snorkeling since there is a jetty that crosses the reef. Many boat tours stops just here for snorkeling so if you are looking for this - this is the place to be.

The service: Staying at a place with high ambitions you expect premium service. Unfortunately Sentido does not really entirely live up to this. Everyone are friendly and greets you where ever you are on the area. We asked for a room on ground floor near cactus bar and we also got that. We had some minor issues with the water temperature in the shower and also asked for a thinner pillow. All these things were fixed. But this kind of service we are expecting from any hotel. Premium service is small details above your expectations and things you did not ask for. Whats irritating us is that when asking the front desk or the guest service desk about entertainment program on the area for our stay they doesn't seem to know anything about whats going on. When asking about restaurants same thing. Also when asking about suggestions and recommendations of what to do and see when going to Nama Bay we didn't get anything. Even if this is irritating we are not surprised. Because this is something we have experienced from other similar resorts as well. We would expect a higher standard of service from ambitious resorts.

Finally and on the positive side regarding service. There is definitely heroes at this facility that makes a difference. Individuals that goes the extra mile to make you smile and feel that you would like to come back. So here is really where we want the Sentido management to pay extra attention.

During our stay these individuals where:
- Walid, who delivered refreshments to our sunbeds at the beach. Always remembered our preferences and made sure that we didnt have to wait for what ever we wanted. Fantastic service - thank you
- Mahmoud, who was our housekeeper. He not only kept our room in perfect condition. He also made us curious every time we put the key card in the door to find out what new creative arrangement he had constructed on our bed. Great! Thank you.

Give them a salary raise.

All in all - a good resort. There are still room for improvements to fulfill the high ambitions

just returned from this wonderful hotel, where they spent their holidays.We were very pleased with the level of service and decor of the hotel. especially the staff. On arrival we were greeted by a very pleasant reception manager Karim. He speaks very good Russian. And on the other days of our stay was always willing to help us. Very pleased that the hotel has a guestlist Relations Julia. Julia was always interested in how we doing and gave us recommendations. The hotel has done everything to make guests feel relaxed. And this is reflected in the overall design. Hotel kept clean. I must say that our stay coincided with the period of Christmas. The whole hotel was very nicely decorated.I would like to commend the work of a person restaurant. Sorry, do not remember all the names, but all great thanks. Very attentive and polite. We liked how organized supply system. During our stay we did not uspytyvali any discomfort associated with food. Food is good. Very tasty and beautiful was the gala dinner. We are also pleased with the cleaning of the room, thanks to Emad. Polite and considerate people. Always do a good job. As well as on the beach for guests Sentido a separate zone. Its territory was calm and peaceful. I would also mention the work of the beach bar waiter Walid. Walid very attentive and provides unobtrusive service. My husband took diving lessons from the instructor Paul. Paul - a professional and a wonderful teacher. Once again many thanks for all the well-organized holiday. And we will get back to you more :) Marina and Sergey Simonov.
