Great hotel Amar the pool guy and brad the animation guy are so nice and that is the reason we come to this hotel. Shame about the Russians rude drunk not a hotel to bring kids no respect for staff and they pay less than we do.

Just returned from a 2nd holiday at the Grand and it is still as good as the first time.Don,t believe the bad reports, these people must have stayed in a different hotel!! The standard of food and cleanliness is very high and worth the 5 star rating. The staff really do know how to make you feel welcome from the reception to the waiters. Dee the duty manager was fantastic, helping us with a couple of personal problems, nothing was too much trouble, she really is a star!!
We will be making another booking for this hotel, don,t need to say any more!

This is our 2nd visit to Sharm and by far the best, 1st week the hotel less than half full which made it a perfect relaxing time. The kids happy in pool or at the beach though not really anything else to do for them but filled in spare time with trips. Buffet food as expected for all inclusive but always something to eat however highly recommend booking the fusion, olive, beach or Mexican restaurant which we did most nights. A short walk away is a local market and shops which compared to the manic hustle and craziness of Namma bay is better for families. To all the moaners and whingers go to Benidorm and waste your time taking pics of ants on the balcony and lime scale on the taps, this is most definitely not a Euro break but pound for pound much better value. Tip everyone for great service and drinks by the pool all day followed by much better service in the bars and restaurants just a £2 tip here and there will make your stay even better. Only negative the whole family got stomach upset for day or two and DO NOT BOOK SWIMMING WITH DOLPHINS ITS A RIP OFF !!

We arrived at the Grand Hotel on the 12th July, was disappointed with the room, but nothing too much trouble, they changed our room immediately, and the room was fabulous.

The staff were amazing, and looked after us the whole holiday, which was 2 weeks of BLISS !!!!! Moamen was fabulous in the bar at the lobby bar at the Grand Hotel, and looked after us so much. Ahmed, the housekeeper, well what can I say, such a character, and he was so, so lovely,.

We found the relaxing pool just near our room, and Abdul the waiter, with the gorgeous smile and eyes could not do enough for us. Drinks constantly, care, and a nice chat, which made our day. What more can I say for service PERFECT and with a smile, he was wonderful, cannot wait to see him again. Sorry Abdul I gave you a kiss when I left and it was Ramadan, my fault, but could not help it, you were the best waiter ever in the world.

With regards to the food, this was excellent, buffet for breakfast amazing, you have so much choice, and the restaurants were amazing. We loved Fusion (OMG their beef fillet was to die for), and Olive Restaurant was also fabulous. We had lovely lunches at the Cliff Top Restaurant overlooking the fish and people and snoorkling in the Red Sea. Tuna Salad, Burgers and chips, kebabs yummy and a fabulous breeze to make your lunch perfect. We had as fabulous night at the Oriental Evening (Eygptian evening), which was great, food amazing and the entertainment great.

I HAVE TO SAY THE FIRST PRIZE GOES TO DEE, OMG she looked after me so much. I burnt my feet and she stalked me until I would see the Doctor, and she was right, I have burnt them and had an infection. OMG this lady DEE is unbelievable, a true valuable asset to the hotel. She was amazing and I cannot thank her enough for all she did for me. and will never forget her kindness. Not forgetting Sha who also was very helpful when I was poorly.

We love you all at the Grand Hotel, and really I don't want anyone to know how good you are as they will book and we might not get a booking LOL XXXXXX

Once again, Grand Hotel, and DEE and not forgetting the BOSS !!!!! we loved it, and will be booking again over the next month or so, once my feet have recovered.

Love to all the staff a big smacker to Abdul, Ahmed and Moamen, and the biggest Kiss to DEE I love you

Judi (the one with the burnt feet LOL) and Mark xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

A great hotel. Travelled with my two sons. No probs with finding things to eat. Restaurants superb. Service fantastic. Only downsides were rooms tired and a bit smelly and got bitten to death so buy there off spray from pharmacy there. Also my fella and I had tummy bug for prob 3 days which kind of spoilt the hol as didn't want to venture far. Think it was a bug and heat as my two boys were fine but again go to pharmacy at first sign for their strong pills. One last thing the Bedouin nights trip was amazing and a must to do while there as is snorkelling. I would def recommend this hotel maybe not in July tho as really is a little too hot and that's from a sun worshipper.

I had an amazing time at the Grand Hotel! The staff were attentive and couldn't do more more us. Sha one of the hotel managers was extremely kind, I told her it was my birthday during my stay and she arranged a cake to be delivered to my room with extra special decorations which was a lovely touch. The pool area was lovely and clean and you didn't have to fight for a sunbed. I had a lovely experience at the grand -the staff made you feel welcome and at home. Will definitely be returning!

We have just got back from our second visit to the Grand Hotel and hope to return again soon. There are ups and downs to this hotel, as there is with most places, but the ups certainly out-weigh the bad!
The Good:
The staff really are an asset to the hotel, they're absolutely lovely, nothing is too much for them. Particular thanks to Sobhy and Mihir (forgive my spelling) at the pool grill for making us feel special, doing everything they could to make us happy, and making us laugh every day. All the staff are so hardworking and always smiling. Again thanks to staff at the sharm restaurant and the terrace bar.
The hotel is clean and looked after well, we couldnt ask for a nicer place. The grounds are kept to a high standard, and fumigated for bugs often! The sunbeds are comfy and spacious, and we didnt have to get up early to secure a bed.
Lots of cold drinks all day, the staff at the pool bar even brought us drinks without us asking for one, constantly asking us all day if we were ok.
We got henna tattoo's done, and the man came and checked every day for 14 days that they were still ok, as I said, couldnt ask for better service.

The downsides:
The rooms themselves are in need of a revamp. I emailed the hotel prior to arrival asking for a hotel room nearby to the other family we were travelling with, which was sorted and we were grateful for that. However, on day 3 of the holiday there was a leak in the bathroom ceiling. We called reception and told them and they said they would send someone to look at it (it was really quite bad) an hour and a half and 3 phonecalls later (this was 11.30pm) the leak stopped and we rang and told them we were going to bed, although no-one had been to sort out the leak. We then got a knock on the door from the maintenance man after we had called reception to say we were going to bed, to which we told him it had stopped and we were in bed, so he left. The next day the water stopped working in our room, so we told reception again. They sent someone to look at it, which he did, and then he told us he would be back in 10 minutes. An hour and half later, he still wasnt back and we had a dinner reservation, (having had no shower) so we walked up to reception to ask what was going on and we were told we had to move rooms. I know it's just one of those things but it was a bit annoying that it wasnt sorted or noticed before we checked into the room. Luckily we showered in our friends room, and then after dinner, moved to a different room. The night after, however, our friends air conditioning broke in their room, and after a similar experience with the maintenance man, they too were told they would have to change rooms. There was no rooms left near us, they said we could move with them but after we had already moved rooms once we didnt want to move again! so we were then no longer near each other. Again, this couldve been sorted or noticed earlier but I know it does happen.
We had no hot water for the entire 2 weeks. We did mention to the guest relations manager, who was lovely and always around, talking to everyone to make sure they were ok, and she said she would get it sorted. We got a phone call asking if it was sorted, and we said no, but it still was never fixed.
The wifi never worked for the 2 weeks we were there either. Last year when we were there it did work, but for some reason it didn't. Again a little bit annoying.
We were all ill also. A lot of people in the hotel were also really ill. My mum was in bed for 24 hours and I had severe stomach cramps for the whole time I was there (and am still suffering). I don't know why, but I suspect it's something to do with the Egyptian heat and probably a virus!

Remember, this hotel is Egyptian 5 star. The food is ok, nothing amazing. There was a good choice and always something you could find to eat. The best restaurant is fusion, although we also loved Mumbai and the Mexican. The food in the buffet restaurants are more aimed at the Russian people I would say (who at times, seemed to take over the hotel, and I often cringed at their attitude and lack of manors to the staff, beware!)
As mentioned earlier, the staff really do make the hotel, what a friendly, kind and loving group of people. If you keep an open mind, and remember its Egypt 5 star, you will have an amazing time.

Room Tip: If you can, ask for a newly renovated room.
