We stayed at the Royal Savoy for 1 week in mid February 2010. The holiday was meant as a relaxing week just to chill out and this hotel more than exceeded our expectations. Whoever is responsible for customer service training is doing a very good job as all the staff we encountered in the Royal Savoy were excellent, very friendly without being too obtrusive and could not do enough for you. The whole experience was one to be savoured and if you're looking for a hotel where the customer really is number 1 and you are made to feel like a VIP for your stay this is the place to be. We didn't leave the resort apart to walk the 5 minutes up to Soho Square where there are a cinema, ice rink, nice shops & restaurants. We found the restaurants at the hotel to be the best ( as opposed to those in Soho Square) and the manager at the sea food venue Essmet was particularly good. I am a coeliac which means I have to eat gluten free food and Essmet took great pains to make sure what I ate was safe for me - his manner was professional, courteous and friendly. at all times. I was also pleased when the Royal Savoy Manager, Natasha, organised for the pastry chef to bake special gluten free cakes so I did not have to miss out on the treats. Another advantage of this hotel is it has its own sandy private beach with pontoon access to the wonderful snorkelling. In this vein I would mark out the services of Ahqmed (who is studying sports science) as very helpful & friendly to my wife and I in supporting our attempts to snorkel which is well worth doing as the sights of the multi coloured fish are fantastic. This hotel deserves its number 1 rating on trip advisor and I would not hesitate in recommending you to stay there. We will certainly be going back again and we are very particular in what we expect to merit this praise from us!

From the moment that my friends and I arrived we were treated so well. On arrival we were given hot fannels to wire our hands with and a lovely refreshing drink. We were shown our rooms and our luggage was taken care of, just what you need after a flight. The care that we were given continued throughout our stay, I have never wanted to return to a hotel before but I can't wait to return to the Savoy. Just hope that I get the chance. I felt like a princess.

My second trip to Royal Savoy and it was brilliant. The staff make this hotel what it is - Carina, the 2 Hanny's, Ehmad, Mina, Hamdy, George and the many many others that contribute along the way. Its a hotel for relaxing in, if you want clubs and nightlife then this is not the spot for you. Very comfortable rooms, fab swimming pools...what more can you ask for. The spa is fantastic, well worth a visit.

Only downside to this trip were a bunch of rude, loud, arrogant Russians that seemed to think they were royality! The staff at the RS had to put up with them and i really dont know how they managed to keep calm. We did have to complain in the end as they were out of order! Other than that is was a great holiday, we meet some lovely people and came home relaxed and ready for work ... :((

Just returned from a weeks holiday from the Royal Savoy and i have to say what an amazing hotel. Wasn't sure what to expect as this was our first trip to egypt and heard conflicting info. Choosing the royal savoy was the best thing and i would absolutely recommend and return to the hotel. We are already planning our next trip for later this year. The weather was great mid 20s even early 30s some days. The hotel is a luxury, the attention to detail is great, rooms are brilliant with great views. We went on all inclusive option and i believe it was well worth it. We had about 11 restaurants to choose from and the food was excellent at all. You get little extras with all inclusive package like a de-stress massage- lovely, culturama voucher, laundry service-great!!, ice skating/banana boat, etc. The snorkelling at the hotel is brilliant, the beach is very clean but so is the whole resort. Soho square is well worth a visit and is a great place at night. The best best thing about the RS is the staff, absolutely amazing, cannot do enough for you. Brilliant service with a genuine big smile!!!! Peope are just brilliant, well done everyone!! Cannot wait to return, see you soon!!!

Following all the wonderful reviews on Tripadvisor we booked into the Royal Savoy looking for an ideal place to swim in the sea that had excellent room facilities and a la carte dining.

From the moment of our pre-arranged pick up by George at the airport to the taxi drop off we had a fabulous time. Remember to email the hotel to book this - it saves all the queuing for visas!

Our room was magnificent - a king sized 4 poster with marble bathroom and wonderful patio area leading out to a garden and then on to the private Royal pools.
The cakes left in the room each day were a real treat - it was a highlight of the afternoon to sit on the patio listening to the birds eating the treat of the day.

The Royal Lounge was a real luxury - we stayed B & B so took advantage of our private breakfast dining and a light canape lunch. The evening meals were delightful, especially at Morgana, EEST, Sea Food Island and Rosmarino (where the steak was divine and we ate there twice on our 5 night stay.)
From Morgana, EEST and Sea food Island, please keep an ear out for the Kanoon player Emad Hamdy - he was an inspiration and the magical instrument he has mastered is a true sound of Egypt.
Also try the local Egyptian bottled wine - both the Chateau Grand Marquis Red and White were superb when decanted.

The main aspect of the quality of the Royal Savoyis the friendliness of the staff - everyone that we encountered was genuinely pleased to see us and wanted to be of assistance. They went out of their way to help in any way possible and were always ready with a smile.
Please be as generous to them as they are in their effort to try and please you.

The snorkeling was out of this world - you can buy a mask and snorkel in Soho Square if you don't want to pack one, or you can hire on the beach. Not to see the brilliantly coloured fish would be a crime!

In summary a fab get away from it all winter break with warm friendly staff and fantastic facilities - we are sure to return to the Royal Savoy again for winter sun and luxurious surroundings.
