“Very good but can still do better”
Reviewed 14 November 2011

Check in: we didn't get our sea view room and had to wait quite a long time and push things at front desk before getting it.
We had a deluxe superior sea room, it was nice and big. The AC makes a lot of noise despite being on the lowest level and the bed's mattress is very soft.
Staff was pleasant and all described on all the websites corresponds to what you see and get
We were all inclusive but the billing system is a bit weird, you never know if it's included or not as all is written as if to be paid, not a line under saying 0.- or some.
.A bit disappointed as one restaurant will have the same menu all week long for all incl.
The ice cream system is also a bit unfair. Free ice cream near the pool has only 4 perfumes and 1 bowl = 1 little plastic cup. But on the other hand, opposite the pool you have an ice cream stand with dozen of perfumes with nice cones but you have to pay...
The hotel's web site should put pictures of their beautiful tennis court as none of the websites (booking.com, tripadvisor, hotel.com, etc.) says there's one. With better advertising they would probably get more clients who love to play tennis like us. And it's free.

Dear Tubarao74,

We appreciate your recent visit at Stella Di Mare Sharm Beach Hotel & Spa and thank you to have chosen our hotel for your vacation in Sharm El Shiekh.

Sincere apology with regards to the check in.
For information, the contracted agreement with the travel companies for All Inclusive dinning, are at the main restaurant, the pool and beach bar. The hotel provides an AI set menu as a courtesy in the A La Carte restaurants which is not in the agreement terms…
As for ice cream, despite the content of the bowl, one can order at leisure the amount desired.

We hope to have the pleasure welcome you again and thank you for your contribution above.

Denis Dernault

Just returned after 10 days. We really can't fault this hotel. The staff are so helpful the room we had was in a fantastic location overlooking the beach. Our room was kept so clean and bedding and towels changed daily. Special thanks to Boles our cleaner who managed 7 different towel decorations during our stay. Just jump on the shuttle bus to Naama bay for nightlife. Only downside was unable to walk to the bay.

This is a lovely hotel and we enjoyed our minibreak here. Some other guest complained that it was noisy, but we didn't have a problem and I think it is worth asking for a quiet room.

My only complaint would be the location. We chose this hotel because it looked like it was just far enough outside town to be quiet, but near enough to walk in to town for scuba diving and in the evenings. Unfortunately it turns out that you can't walk into town at all - there are two massive hotels in the way, and if they catch you trying to cut though (and they have very sharp eyes!) they will chuck you out! This means that if you spend the morning scuba diving then want to head back to the hotel it is a 10-15 minute walk (in the wrong direction) to the taxi rank and then a taxi ride, rather than the 5-10 minute walk it should be back to the hotel. You get rather good at haggling with the taxis - there is a trick - you need to walk to the other side of the road to the taxi rank and hail one that is driving in the right direction already. It should then only be 10-15 Egyptian pounds. Walk up to the taxi rank and expect to pay 35 Egyptian pounds......

We stayed at the hotel with all inclusive package for one week in October/November. This is the sixth time at an all inclusive hotel (five star), so we thought we knew what to expect. This time it was a disappointment. It was only the buffet restaurant who was included in the price. And this place was very noisy and the food was average. It was difficult to order something to drink because the waiters was very busy (and sweat). If we went at the most busy time we were also told to wait for an half hour (to get a table for two). The local wine was not good and the international wine was very expensive. The drinks was very low on alcohol, so this is the place to go if you like beer. The best food and service: Scogliera the Asian restaurant.

We did not like the dealing at the Spa (special price for you). The prices was also very high.

Anyway the rooms was nice and clean, some waiters was very friendly and some not. Would we go back? No.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your recent stay at Stella Di Mare Sharm Beach Hotel & Spa and for returning your comments.

Kindly be informed that in term of dining, All Inclusive includes the outlet mentioned, an All Inclusive menu at the A La Carte restaurants and as well comprehend the pool and beach bars…

We wish to prove that we can deliver better services, for which we are well known, if given a future opportunity despite your last statement. We would like to express our regret for any service that you have judged below your expectations.

Stella di Mare is just like other reviews have said, staff fanatastic, polite, helpful, could not have been better. However, the reasons that we will not be returning are as follows (we have been to sharm at least 15 times so we will go back again just not here).
The Restaurant - All the tables were just too close together in the main restaurant. We went half board and despite what time (breakfast or evening) we went we just felt too close to those around us so it was not really a pleasant experience. The food was ok but not what I have come to expect from a 5* hotel, some of it was a bit tasteless and if you did not arrive in the first hour sometimes the 'special' ie carved meats were not available.
Around the swimming pools and beach areas. These were very well kept and we were very well looked after by the staff there but again everything was very close together.
We go on holiday to relax and yes I do have my earphones in but the noise (just general talking) from those around was often very disturbing.

Room Tip: Ask for a room level 5 or above

This hotel far surpassed our expectations in customer service and standards. The employees enjoy delighting customers and going that extra mile without being "in your face". We returned to our room at the end of the day to find towels transformed into a variety of animals including elephants and crocs and we were routinely served chilled water and fruit whilst relaxing on the sun beds, without requesting this service. The food offering was diverse and well cooked and neither of us went down with "Egyptian tummy" and to top it all the SPA facilities were great.
The location of the hotel was ideal for us with access to a coral reef, a 20 minute walk into Naama Bay which meant we were away from the noise & bustle, but had access when we wanted it. All in all a great week away and we will return next year.

What a great hotel, service friendly, always pleased to help and "go that extra mile". Its a relatively new hotel and they are improving all the time. Lovely spot, on the edge of Naama Bay - free shuttle in and out - but has its own small beach, pontoon, reef for snorkelling and the fantastic seallife can be viewed without a snorkel from the walkway out to the reef.
They need to improve their beauty salon (bit basic) and the spa facilities/service but that is a work in progress.
Our only gripe was the individual musicians in the evening were far too loud and the rooms above were filled with the noise whether you liked it or not (even with the balcony door shut) - unnessary. Animation/entertainment good, other restaurants on site need to have a more varied menu - compared with other All Inclusive resorts around the world of this standard. Just a comment to help them improve even more.
However, would go back again even just to improve my husband's arabic - taught to him by the bar stewards! Recommend this hotel as it is not in the middle of the frenzy of Naama Bay but near enough. Beware of some of the trips - some take hours and hours in a coach and also hours back. Boat trip great! Soho Square - waste of time!
