“Abject luxury”
Reviewed 13 July 2010

We arrived at this hotel as refugees of the volcanic eruption at Easter. The hotel had never been at capacity before as it was only a few months old so the staff could have been like rabbits caught in the proverbial headlights - but they coped with a professionalism that I cannot praise highly enough. The garden room that we were allocated was wonderful - I have never slept in such a comfortable bed, it was like floating on a cloud!! The food in the restaurant was out of this world - hot, plentiful and extremely tasty. There were sometimes queues for tables, however, I put this down to teething problems, and it certainly was never a long wait. Around the pool, each sun lounger had an individual canopy to offer additional shade, on the man-made beaches the sunloungers were shaded with parasols. Towels were provided every day for use around the pool or on the beach. The touch that I especially liked was the "spritzer man" - he came around the pool each day giving you a little spritz of icy water to cool you down!! Lovely... The pool is very deep, I am only 5ft so that may be why - but I couldn't touch the bottom! There is a wonderful reef just off the hotel, accessed from a short jetty. The fish here rivalled those that we saw on a full day snorkelly trip out to the national park - we even saw a sting ray!! There was free WIFI connectivity, which was a god-send for us and the Thomson rep was the best holiday rep I have ever dealt with. She was professional, experienced and happy to speak to every customer. Overall, both Thomson and the hotel deserve the highest of praise. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you are looking for something a little bit special, but with a most friendly appeal.

It was my first time in sharm and I am so glad that my stay in stella di mare truly meet my expectation of a five star hotel. Location is very close to the airport, has its own private beach, close to naama bay with shuttle service. Hotel is very clean, take note housekeeper come to clean the rooms 2xday. Most importantly very friendly and helpful staff. I will definitely stay again in stella when i go back to sharm. Recommended for people who are looking for pampering and relaxation. Just try to book for all inclusive if you want to spend most of your time in the hotel.

From the moment we walked into the lobby we were treated special. We were called by name (how did they know?), given a wet cold hand towel to refresh ourselves and a tasty glass of fruit juice. That pretty much described our entire stay--being pampered. Top notch service. The meals far exceeded our expectations--lots of variety and everything was fresh, no matter what time you ate. The internet service needs improvement--there is only one computer for guests and the wireless is slow. Also, it would be a nice service to use the shuttle to take guests to other places (like the malls or the old market) instead of just Naama Bay. One more comment is regarding the dress code for the restaurant (La Terrace). My husband was told he needed to go put on long pants one night, but then we started seeing many other men wearing shorts. Did the dress code change?? I think perhaps it should.

Stayed at Stella Di Mare for 1 week in June with my partner on a half board basis.
The hotel has only been open since January so is very quiet, but it's lovely.
We had our room upgraded on arrival by the friendly reception staff.
Everything about our stay was fantastic, from the plush rooms, to the staff that look after you so well.
This hotel has fantastic food. Sharm's hotels' are not the best for food, but this was fantastic. Breakfast had it all, Eggs Benedict, fruit salad, pastries, you name it. Was the same for dinner, Steaks, Duck Fish, Pasta, there was always something for every one and it was never repetitive. If you have a sweet tooth you will love their desserts too, mini crèmebrules, chocolate soufflés.... and the list goes on. It was all presented to a high standard too.
As the same with most hotels in Egypt the entertainment in the evening is not great & finishes around 10pm, there is a club, although we didn't try it out. The Hotel does have a very modern shuttle bus that goes to Naama Bay if you want a more lively evening.
There are a few shops in the hotel, Jewellery, clothes & a general shop. We brought some snorkels from them & I had a good barter with them, so make sure you do too.
The pool and beach areas are clean and tidy, the sun beds around the pool have a head shade attached to them, which is handy. The staff around the pool and beach will be on hand for drinks & hand round fresh fruit in the morning & afternoon.
As the beaches are surrounded by coral they are man made, so you need to walk down to the jetty's to get in the sea. The snorkelling at the hotel is not bad, we went on a snorkelling trip & didn't see any different fish to what was at the hotel.
Staff at the hotel will do anything for you. They are fantastic and can not praise them enough.
Drinks are not the cheapest, around £4 for a beer. We brought water from Naama Bay and took in to the hotel in our back pack.
The Spa looked lovely but it was very expensive.
My partner had a dodgy tum while we were there & I had one when we come back. But this is nothing to do with the hotel, it's just Egypt for you and should not be blamed on the hotels.

Overall I think this hotel was spot on & would go back tomorrow

The hotel was beautiful! Slightly quiet at the beginning of the week as it was opened only 3 months earlier but it picked up after a few days. The staff were incredibly friendly and made a real effort to make sure we had a great holiday. There are two restaurants which are lovely but it is worth not going full board so that you can try different things in Naama Bay. The rooms were cleaned to a high standard every day and thankfully the air conditioning was very powerful as it is extremely hot, even at night. It was too hot at times but there are plenty of options at the hotel to get away from the heat! Two large and lovely swimming pools (one with a bar in it!) and an amazing snorkelling area. There are many sun loungers (and towels are provided with them) all with parasols. We hope to go back to this hotel as we had a fantastic holiday and would recommend it to anyone!

We stayed here for 1 week (Bed & Breakfast) and had a great time. Couldn't find a single fault with the hotel, it exceeded our expectation. The rooms were cleaned every day to a high standard, the restaurant was lovely with a great variety of food for breakfast and the waiters are so attentive.
The gardens, beach and pool areas are immaculate. The pool and bar staff were brilliant, especially Ahmed and Mohammed, they are young guys keen to talk and learn more English they couldn't do enough to help and made us feel so welcome.
You must try the beach restaurant at the hotel called La Scogliera, it's oriental type food and is brilliant, but not that well advertised so you have to check it out.
We made use of the free shuttle bus to Naama Bay a couple of nights. It's worth making the trip but twice was enough for us.
All in we had a great relaxing holiday.
