While we were there we had no problems with this hotel found it clean and the staff very hard working. Cheerful and helpful
Was a very relaxing any enjoyable holiday and looking forward to september

We returned last week from Sharm ,where we stayed for a week. We stayed at 5 star  Melia Sharm hotel . I have to say to all who are saved it is the purity of the very rough level. So if you want neat and clean definitely I do not recommend this hotel. As far as the staff I have only words of praise but it was all very, very dirty. As far as the swimming ... not as I excepted exept  at the pool, because the water was not possible to swim. So everyone who wants a nice beach with a nice entrance to the sea ... Sharm definitely is not for you. Only if you are a fan of diving and fish, I think you will enjoy with a coral reef and fishes that are very beautiful and colorful. . As far as the food ,we've always been disappointed by the choice, except maybe fish which was delicious. Our room was spacious and very comfortable to stay ... which is great , but also very dirty , old and decrepit. Animators are great and I would really praised Misha, a guy from Russia, his efforts are really raises the atmosphere. Guy who works at the pool named Amr was very kind and I commend him because he always found us sunbeds which sometimes was not easy. To summarize, the hotel is not for recommendation because everything is very dirty and the sea is not for swimming,, so if you want spend your holiday in Egypt, , choose Hurghada.

Actually it was a very terrible experience, from the minute you arrives you notice the dirts in all the place (food residuals, unclean beds and sheets, Ants all over the place) and swimming pools having floating dirts.
Complaining to the inexperienced staff has no action at all, however you may receive bad words from the impudent staff.
Our reservation was on 1st of August 2014 for 4 nights, but we cancelled and left the hotel before sleeping the first night. Shame on you Melia.

This is not a 5*hotel only stayed one night it was disgusting

Dirty rooms , dirty bed linen , plates of food left in hallway covered in ants
Dirty dining areas
We arrived at the hotel around 4.30pm didn't get a room until 9 30 pm as there weren't any that were clean enough , at that point we made do and slept in our clothes on top of the beds .
The final straw was finding the public toilets by the pool covered in poo first thing in the morning it was obvious they hadn't been cleaned from the day before
All sorts of things floating in pool
Staff at the hotel were miserable and un-helpful .
Ended up moving to the Baron Resort which is a proper 5* Hotel

Room Tip: Don't go there

We'll start with the the first morning, sun out at 5.30, blue sky, warm breeze, and Russian sunbed snipers out doing the towel run, fantastic! Just like Spain in the 80's with the Germans, so off to breakfast, queue up as the English do, Russians and our very own polish guests from England fed up of 90 years of standing in breadlines just go for it, a polite "back in line comrade" usually sorts things out, usual all inc breakfast buffet and the omelette guy is quick, breakfast is the same everyday so get used to it, to the pool, great, 18 year old wannabe Russian models with burly 50 something Russian wannabe gangsters pose round the pool like its a posh and becks fashion shoot, pool is a bit chilly but you get used to it, the pool bar guys are great, making dodgy cocktails all day cracking jokes are funny, get in with them and you see how mad they really are, now lobby bar, this is where the fun really starts, one guy and his baby Swiss Army knife will have you wanting to shoot yourself, he will be president one day for sure! The rest of the lobby guys are just as good as the pool guys, all top lads, lunch is another scramble but you get the idea, in the afternoon the whole place goes quiet. No music or activities until early evening, the shisha pipe guy is nuts, he looks stoned off his box but hilarious telling jokes and looking crazy, evening meals are the same again, this does get boring but it's part of your holiday, Russians by now have had a few drinks and can get rowdy, you just stare at them like Stalin did and they shut up and walk off. You can't get premium beers or spirits so it's local poison, you have to get a taxi to go out as you are in the middle of nowhere, in house taxi guys will barter for return trip to soho square ( modern, clean, no bartering) or to naama bay ( Gaza Strip, beggars, thieves, cat droppings, and Pizza Hut) go once at night to scare yourself, it's. Like that zero dark thirty bin laden film down there! Should you go down with Delhi belly a chemist is 5 min walk outside hotel don't pay more than 150 Egyptian pounds for medicine, barter it ain't boots!! Now KFC and McDonalds deliver to the hotel. Brilliant, and pizza off room service is cheap and very big. So few dining options there, the pool DJ? Or DJ tool as we called him, he repeated every thing 3 times in 3 languages, time he shut up the song had ended! Watch the camel guys in the beach the have the "rope a dope" scam off to a tee, they will offer to take a picture for you next to the camel, get your wife to sit on it then demand as much as they can get, sob stories about their families etc, the main old guy has a new car in the hotel next door's car park! Entertainment was ok if a little dated, but passable for kids and our eastern euro friends, you will notice the Egyptians don't like the Russians as they get shouted at by them if they don't get the drinks quick enough! So finally to Nicolette the crazy blonde dutchy from holland, she's your go-to girl for any translation or if you need HOT SAUCE or to WHISTLE up a barman!!! As the saying goes, "you've paid your money" good luck

This is my third visit to this hotel and I've always loved this place. But today I was terribly disappointed by an accident happened with me. When I came back from dinner I saw... OMG just under the door of my room... Well... Someone vomited near my door. I could't believe it happened!!! But what disappointed me most was the reaction of Hamada, manager. He promised to clean everything as soon as possible but when I came after 1 HOUR it was just the same terrible dirt under my door. I definitely changed my mind about this hotel... So sad...

Melia Sharm is well located resort in Sharm El Sheikh. It is close to airport and far from city center.
You can find different activities to amuse yourself. Of course the first activity that you can find is snorkeling without a cost. you don't even need to dive to explore the underwater life. However, service is the worst thing in this resort. may be it is too crowded to clean everywhere..
