Well we were very disappointed to hear that tourist busses had been stopped for the last few months, from Sharm el Sheik to Cairo. The only choice now is to fly or go on the ordinary public bus. Flying would have been ridiculously expensive for 3 of us, yet there was no way we were going all the way to Egypt without seeing the pyramids! So public bus it had to be. Go to the bus station in Sharm (any taxi will take you there) and book your seats in advance. Best busses are run by Superjet and GoBus! Cost is 80/100 £E. Air con. Takes 6-8 hours each way. Views and scenery along the way are amazing, but ultimately boring after so many hours! And then you get to the centre of Cairo, dumped onto the hot street in the middle of a vast traffic nightmare! Take your life into your hands just to get across the road! Eventually, when you get there, the pyramids on the edge of town are quite awesome, worth all the hassle and trouble to get there!
