We returned from a week at Sultan Gardens on Monday and people who rate this hotel as terrible obviously have it confused with somewhere else. The hotel is amazing but without a doubt it is the staff who make the hotel, there was a gentleman who cleaned around the main pool (Mohammed) I believe and he was so friendly he played with the children and never failed to tend to you needs. There was also a gentleman called Eslam who worked in the quiet pool and you could not wish to have met a more attentive and caring gentleman, he worked tirelessly to ensure that all of our needs were met and we never went more than 30 seconds without being bought a new drink.
The animation team do all that they can to ensure that your time spent with them is an enjoyable one, I personally did not like the attitude of the senior team member (Alex) however all of the other team members were so friendly and willing to just sit and chat if that is all you are wanting to do.
The food is varied and neither my partner or I were ill. (which is very common when eating in Egypt).
Having travelled in Egypt before my partner and I have previously received different treatment from the staff once they realised we were a gay couple however this was not the case in Sultan Gardens and we are grateful for this.
If we return to Egypt it will definitely be the Sultan Gardens we stay at.

Well done to all the team and thank you

Our first trip to Sharm, and our first package holiday, let alone our first all inclusive. I must say we were delighted with Sultan Gardens.
Ok - so its not a typical 5* hotel - the rooms for example arent really of a 5* standard. Im a regular business traveller and am lucky enough to stay in a fair few 5*s, but the Sultan Gardens was brilliant in so many ways that we really didn't care. its also fantastic value so there really is no cause for complaint on that front.
The hotel itself is attractive and clean. The gardens and flowers are kept beautifully and the whole place is well looked after.
Food is varied and really tasty considering how many people are catered for. My girlfriend is an incredibly fussy eater and she loved the food every day. The option to eat in various restaurants (italian and fish market) was really great. The drinks (local alcohol of course) are more than drinkable ;) and of course being all inclusive you can drink as little or as much as you like.
The best part though is the staff. I don't know where they find them, or how they train them; but each and every one are lovely. From the cleaners, to the gardeners, pool attendants, bar men, you name it. They are polite, friendly, fun, cheeky; but have an amazing ability to judge if you are looking for a quiet uninterrupted meal or looking for a bit of banter, they really did make the holiday.
The snorkelling from the beach is a fabulous plus and a great way to break up spells of sun bathing; some great fish to see. The beach itself is clean and... well, beachy. very nice. not stunning expanses of powder soft white sand - more course coral sand, but a perfectly nice beach none the less.
There was a little building work going on at the hotel when we were there; it didnt impact our holiday really, apart from one massage in the spa which was ruined by the noise, which is a shame.
All in all a great experience at the Sultan Gardens. If i do go back to Sharm (which given the guaranteed sunshine and reasonable flights i probably will) then i will definitely stay there again; i wouldn't be tempted to try elsewhere. On excursions we did meet many other holiday makers staying at other hotels who were not happy for varying reasons. Everyone i talked to in Sultan Gardens was happy and smiling.
In short... .highly recommended.

Room Tip: rooms closer to the beach seem quieter. Rooms closer to the main pool/reception are probably a bit noisier.

Stayed at Sultan Gardens 24th to 31st March. Group of 11, 1 couple 3rd visit, 2 couples 2nd visit, remaining 5 people this was there 1st visit. All stayed in various accommodation from standard rooms (248, 249), family suite (576) and 2 suites (can’t remember numbers).

The hotel was a lot busier than last year at least double occupancy. The Russians are back and yes they are extremely rude and don’t understand the concept of queuing (airport immigration). Enough said.

Much has been said about the location, food, service etc so not going to repeat or go into great detail.

Check in: Smooth and quick despite 10 arrivals all at same time!

Food: Was plentiful, hot, varied and replenished quickly. The daily specials were delicious especially the rack of lamb and the salmon en croute. Food at the pool and beach bars is also very good.

Location: The location for us was great, close to airport, Naamba Bay and Soho Square. Preferred the quiet location to the noise and hassle of other hotels in Naama. Grounds are spotless and continually tidied. Snorkelling of the jetty was brilliant (couldn’t do this last year).

Rooms: All bar the family suite had been refurbished, our room was clean, tidy and had great view. Robes were a nice touch. TV now include several English channels including a couple of movie channels not that we saw the end of any of the movies!

Service: Well what can I say that hasn’t been said. Its excellent from room boy to bar staff to reception to chefs. Service is very good but if you don’t want toworry about getting drinks then tip (took 100 x $1 bills) its worth it especially when in a group as you never have to worry about getting drinks. If you do go to the bar they (Abo and Ahmed) would come straight over take the order and bring it over. Saves queueing!

Animation team: Work really hard, yes they do try and get you involved but do get the message if not interested. They will still stop and chat, nice touch. Saw a couple of the shows Chinese acrobats were amazing as was the Fakir fire show.

Beach: still amazing. Snorkelling was allowed off the jetty which was amazing. Bought a disposable camera from shop (go for the Kodak 400 ASA) pictures are very good. Looking to get cheap digital for next year!

Trips: at least 2 companies operate in the hotel, 1 out of the dive centre (Mido & Kimo) and some other company who we managed to get “removed”. Apparently the operators do different trips and aren’t allowed to “sell” other companies trips.

Can't wait to go back!

My partner and I arrived at Sultan Gardens on the 16th May and had a fantastic weeks holiday. Our flight was provided by Thomas Cook and we were quite shocked that there was no entertainment on board (very old plane), and this made the 5.5 hour journey quite uncomfortable! However, once we were ushered through the airport at double quick time (no need for a visa as we werent going out of sharm), we had our transfer provided by holidaytaxis. If only we had known sultan gardens does this for free if you contact them before hand!! Never the less, transfer time was quick as the resort is only 10 minutes from the airport.

The hotel is stunning from both inside and out. The gardens of the resort are beautiful with flowers and trees everywhere you look. Check in was quick and we were happy to find we had been given a refurbished room with a pool view (Room 156). We had emailed them before hand to request this so we were very happy! In my opinion, we were in the best block as it was close to the restaurants, pools and bars. It was the furthest away from the beach but its only around a 5-10 minute walk down quite a steep hill. We always used to go and visit the beach on an afternoon for the amazing snorkelling!!! This is a must when visiting the hotel, so many tropical fish!!! The room was a good size, although we had booked a double room with travelrepublic but it was a twin room. This was not much to moan about though and one of the staff moved the beds together for us. The shower was nice and powerful, and there was a big mirror with hairdryer. Bathrobes were provided, and even had some weighing scales which were handy for weighing our cases for the way home (I didnt dare weigh myself after all the food and drink consumed!!) There was a plasma screen telly too which had some really good movies showing in English!

The food was of very good quality and there was always something you could eat. We only ate breakfast a few times as we found we were too full to eat dinner afterwards, especially in the heat! Breakfast consisted of hot options, although i must say i was not keen on this due to the fact that the pork items are subsituted for beef alternatives and im not a fan of beef! I know this is due to the fact it is a Muslim country and pork products are not used. There were so many other nice things to eat though such as the egg/omelette station, fresh pastries and croisants, yoghurts, fresh fruit, french toast, crepes, cereal, etc. Lunch and dinner times provided hot options of food, along with salads, burger or hotdog station, pasta station, fresh bread, soups and a carvery on the evening. The desserts are lovely, although could be a little too much after a large meal so we used to stick to the fresh fruit (Watermelon - yum!!) and icecream (Only provided at dinner). The waiters were noticibly pushed a lot of the evenings and we sometimes found we were only served one drink per meal. We also found a few times that when we came back from the buffet, there would be another family sitting there!! But this only happened a few times and could not be helped due to the sheer volume of people wanting the delicious food! We sometimes also used to eat at the al shalal bar for a quick snack, this was always chips with things such as hotdogs, kebab, fish fingers, beef satay, chicken wings etc, with a small salad and cake bar.

On our first day, we stayed around the main pool but I must say, i did start getting annoyed with people trying to sell me massages, facials, boat trips, quad biking etc. But i had been warned about this already on tripadvisor and so we decided to try the quiet pool instead the next day. This was a lot more suited to us, and the bar staff were excellent! If you tried to get up to the bar to get a drink, you were told to sit down and they would bring it to you....we ended up being so lazy as the drinks just kept on being brought over - excellent!! Sunbeds are comfy and towels are provided by handing in your towel card given on arrival.

I like to relax when on holiday so dont like to get involved in activities and games, but there were plenty to do if you do! Night time entertainment was quite low key, we enjoyed the chinese acrobatics and egyptian dancing. The kareoke was unitentionally hillarious around the quiet pool!! Some bars stay open till midnight, such as the al shalal and oasis bar but some nights we fancied staying up a bit later so we went into soho square the one evening for a bit more drinking and dancing and had a great night! (Not such a great day the next day though as i over did the all inclusive vodka and cocktails before we went!!) The taxi was arranged at reception and we were given a mobile phone to call them to pick us up when we wanted to go home, this made me feel very safe! There was a 'white party' put on by the animation team the one evening down in the nightclub underneath the lobby. This was £10 in, and all inclusive drinks.....however, the music was not to our taste (electro pop/ dubstep) but other people seemed to enjoy it!

All in all, this was a lovely holiday and well worth the money we paid! We would definitely return in the not so distant future! We are a young couple (25, 34) and enjoyed ourselves, but families of all ages would also have a fantastic time at this beautiful hotel! Thanks Sultan Gardens!

Room Tip: The rooms in the 100's are closest to restaurants, pools and bars!

We went end of last year and after going to Egypt many times now this is by far one of the better hotels. The food the staff and just in general there is little fault. The only down side is the sales people round the pool , they drive you up the wall. There is a quiet pool which is fab as they are not allowed up there so we landed up spending our days there. The beach has sharp rocks so buy beach shoes but if you go off the jetty its fine. If you go to the quiet pool 'Mo' is the greatest there

Room Tip: all the rooms are pretty much the same , we have been twice now and there is not much differnce

Dear Sam M,

Thank you for choosing the Sultan Gardens Resort and for posting your review. We appreciate your feedback and are very happy to read that you think highly of our Resort and our services.

We appreciate your feedback regarding sellers and will take extra care to insure that they do not affect any guest holiday in a negative way. The sellers in question (health club, diving) are not employees of the hotel but they are required to maintain the same level of professionalism as hotel staff and they're numbers and hours of operation are tightly controlled by the hotel management so that they have the opportunity to make guests aware of the services they offer without creating a disturbance. Additionally they have instructions not to persist if a guest politely says that they are not interested in a service. Nonetheless it may be possible that some sellers are trying to bend the rules when it comes to these instructions and we will readily take whatever action is needed to correct this as we know full well that the satisfaction and comfort of our guests is far more important than any revenue that can be generated by such means.

On another note, please be advised that the beach front is not sharp rocks, this is actually the top of the coral reef, and we ask all guests to avoid walking on it.

Thank you again and we hope you will return soon.

Best Regards
The Management
