We stayed in this hotel for the second time in March 2014, having stayed previously in September 2013. The only real difference to last time was the temporary restaurant set up and we didn't think that was much of a problem.

As a returning guest we were upgraded on arrival to a suite, which was very big, and very nice. A couple of days later, the hotel sent a thank you card and small platter of dates to the room, which was nice too.

The hotel is still in a great spot - snorkelling in the sea is brilliant - and the grounds are lovely. All of the staff were really good and could not do enough to help.

We thought the food was fine. We have stayed in All Inclusives in the Caribbean and the food there is much better, but the price there is also much higher. Drinks from the bars were good too.

We will go back!

The hotel is great, the staff are amazingly friendly and helpful. I was presented with a beautiful surprise birthday cake on my return to my room. The many pool areas are lovely and clean. The waterfall seating areas are well worth stopping at and taking a few moments of sheer beauty. The beach area is idyllic very quiet (plenty of reading and sun bathing with plenty of drinks including great milky coffees)and easy access to swimming and snorkelling. The mexican restaurant free meal choice was really tasty and very filling. The main restaurant food was grand after the first day, the temporary restaurant was ill equipped to keep flies out. The first room 5006 was disappointing overlooking roof tops with faded furniture but thankfully we were moved to a sea and pool view room 1409 which was beautiful.

Spent 10 days in this lovely resort at the end of March. The grounds are immaculate, the rooms excellent and the location superb. The reef just off the beach was amazing - no need to go on any of the boat trips as the best snorkelling was right off our beach!! The waiters and bar staff are very helpful. The ambience in the conference room where breakfast and dinner was served was lacking so we look forward to experiencing the coast restaurant when it's refurbishment is complete. The food, however, was better than we thought it was going to be. Plenty of choice and usually good quality when you consider how many guests they are catering for. We had a really good meal at Acapulco joes, a Mexican restaurant on the resort but a very disappointing meal at the resort's Italian restaurant. Do not be put off by any negative reviews as this really is a lovely hotel and we hope to return there in October.

Just spent a week here with my wife and we had a great time. The staff are very attentive and certainly contributed to how much we enjoyed our stay. We dived with the dive company Divein based at the hotel and they were very professional and we would certainly use then again. The food wasn't anything special but it was perfectly acceptable considering the money paid for a weeks all inclusive.

Stayed here for a month from end of February with Saga, it is new in the Saga brochure. The hotel itself, the grounds and the general ambience of the hotel is good. Sadly it all falls apart when you enter the restaurant.
The usual restaurant was being refurbished, but that should not affect the quality of the food nor the attentiveness of the waiters, which with one notable exception, was poor.
Some of our party did have a meeting with the Executive chef, Max (from Venezuela), and to be fair things did improve a little but not enough to affect my rating. I'm giving 5 for the hotel itself, but 1 for the food.
Breakfast was ok but lunch and dinner left a lot to be desired. Once a week there was fish, 5 out of the 6 dishes fish. Too much. Every single day, indeed twice a day, lunch and dinner, chicken, now I don't mind chicken but not every day, twice a day.
I'm not going to prattle on, just to say the hotel itself great, but unless they sort the menu out, to appeal to a broader spectrum of guest, more varied international dishes, then judging by the Brits we spoke to, and I believe at least 60% of the guests were Brits, the Marriott Renaissance is going to lose it's British following.
I see below that I've got to rate "service", I found it was quicker get my own place settings than wait for it to be done for me! Thus a 1.

Have recently returned from a 10 day stay in this resort and was totally satisfied. The staff are friendly and attentive. Mohammed Ali who looked after our room was so helpful. Ahmed who works around the pool area, at the Aqua Bar, could not do enough for us. Also Zoltan at the Aqua Bar makes the best milky coffee in Egypt. Thank you. The furniture in the rooms is a little worst for wear but the cleanliness is second to none. The main dining room is being refurbished so meals are being taken in I assume a conference room, once this is completed I am sure the hotel will be back up to its required standard. At the moment meal times can get a little hectic, but the food is fine, lots of choice. We will definitely be making a return visit.

Stayed here with friends from 15th march. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Not an all inclusive package like other sharm hotels. Some parts of hotel, rooms and dining area need some tlc and cats in the dining area and on tables. Would not stay here again for saga folk great but too quiet and little entertainment was shocking!
