From the moment we stepped in to the moment we left the service we received was beyond 5*. We've stayed at many 5* hotels but the service we received from here was exceptional. All staff were very attentive and friendly, esp Hossam, all the Ahmeds, Mohammed, Mahmood, Kamil Ayman.. These are the names which I remember but overall all staff were amazing. They catered to all our needs. The rooms were spacious and very clean. Whilst my stay I did not see a single mosquito which was something I was dreading. The only one issue we had was one of the reception staff who was being rude to us on our last day but Hossam dealt with this very efficiently. Overall we had a brilliant stay and would surely go back again.

Thank you

My wife and I stayed here for a week and overall we had a good stay. The room we had picked was garden view (which we did have a view of) but we had excellent view of the sea as well which was nice. Rooms are not really 5 star but are more than adequate and the hotel entrance and foyer doesn't have the wow factor of a true 5 star hotel but it is nice enough for what we paid. The service could be hit and miss. Sometimes excellebt and at other times inept; I guess it depends on which employee u happen to be dealing with. For example the waiter wandering the beach was very friendly and promptly brought us our orders of food or drink whenever we asked. And the service in restaurants was always very helpful and prompt. Other tines room service would miss things like not giving us fresh cups for our tea and once a towel that had been replaced had a horrid smell coming from it.

Food in this hotel isn't great as they do have to cater to all tastes so it is very bland.

The beach was not as good as I hoped for either as it is on a small cliff so there are rocks between the beach and the water and the sand in between is quite rough with twigs and what not.

Overall the experience was adequate and it is cheap hence overall 3 stars.

My boyfriend and I stayed here one night. The food was so terrible that we had to move to another hotel the next day, which wasted a whole afternoon of our holiday.

We arrived in the evening. The hotel looked lovely and our room was to the standard we expected, as we know a 5* in Egypt isn't quite a 5*. We headed straight to the buffet for dinner after a long day travelling and were very surprised with what we found. We had a bread roll each for dinner! The choices were very limited and made school dinners look nice! The buffet looked very grubby and just put you off eating anything! We didn't expect gourmet food but having stayed in many all inclusive hotels (both 4* and 5*) where we have always been happy with the food, this food was just shocking!

We then went to explore the hotel bars. We first went to the pool bar, where we asked the barman for our order. He told us to sit down and we were expecting him to bring our drinks over to us. But, he disappeared from the bar and came back about 10 minutes later with no drinks for us. We asked again for our drinks and shortly after gave up waiting and went to find another bar. The bar in the lobby was not included in our all inclusive, so we didn't stay there. We did find another bar where we managed to get served. The hotel was empty and there was hardly anyone about. But, yet the service at the bar was still apalling.

The next day we woke up and really enjoyed our morning at the beach. It was nice and quiet. The barman at the beach bar was excellent and served us at our sun loungers. You couldn't fault the beach.

We then went to get lunch and ended up having to pay for it from Acapulco Joe's. We could not find anything that looked edible that was included in our all inclusive. What was included in the all inclusive was so poor that to have anything half decent you would have to pay more!

Straight after lunch, we went to speak to the manager. The first manager was a lady who offered that we could have either lunch or dinner at one of the a la carte restaurants for free each day. She agreed that there were problems with the food at the hotel and said that she had been working at the hotel for 3 weeks to try and improve it. When we said that one meal a day was not enough, she told us that we could pay an extra $15 a day each to eat both lunch and dinner in the a la cartes a day. We felt this was not right as we paid to be all inclusive, yet the all inclusive included nothing and it was as if you had to pay extra for anything half decent! The lady then got her manager to speak to us. He totally disregarded what we had already been told and told us we would have to pay $15 each for lunch a day and $15 each for dinner a day to eat at the a la carte restaurants. He didn't want to listen to us so we requested they called our rep. The rep arranged for us to move to another hotel, which we were very happy with.

We believe this hotel has only just become all inclusive. They are really not yet getting it right. What is included in the all inclusive is awful and when you have gone on an all inclusive holiday, you do not expect to have to pay for reasonable food and to be served a drink at a bar. My boyfriend and I are not fussy and we don't even eat very much.

We moved to the Hilton Sharm el-Sheikh Waterfalls Resort, which we loved. The food, service and ambience was great. We ended up having an amazing holiday and we were so glad that we complained (as we never usually do) and moved hotels.

We should have guessed by the price, and I agree, you get what you pay for, but if you advertise it as five star, then I expect five star.
Rooms tired and in need to refurbishment
Buffet meals yuk! Three days into a two week holiday I'm so ill that the hotel doctor has me on a drip and antibiotics - which I remained on for the duration of the holiday.
Beach - not really a beach. A man made cove with grubby sand.
Wifi erratic
Service and staff - fabulous
Full of Russians and Italians
Loads of steps - not for those who can't manage them - there are loads, I'm fairly fit and healthy and they are knackering
Great if all you want to do is sit in the sun and do water sports as there's nothing else to do
The evening entertainment was dire!
Ok but never going back

The most bad service I ever found in a hotel.
It takes 3 hours from the room service to make my room ready for check in because of a default in the room door.
Very bad staff on the pool.
Staff is no cooperative at all.
Staff is very low class people from low class citizens.
All inclusive package is a fake .
anything u want they have to charge u.
Staff is very sad

Not a great start when the car we booked with the hotel to pick us up from the airport (a tip we learnt many moons ago was a major stress-reliever) wasn't there. When we did get to the hotel the staff seemed more interested in working out whose fault it was than anything else.

We were offered a room upgrade to a full sea view (I think we were booked into a room with a bit of a sea view before) although I am not sure what difference there is. We were also offered a free car when we left, so that kind of made up for it guess.

Two important tips (1) you do get what you pay for and this hotel is inexpensive at present and (2) this is Egypt so you will get hounded in many places when you were out and about. Really nobody should be surprised by these two things.

As others have commented the Renaissance falls someway short of a 5-star hotel. The food is basic at best and adequate in quantity. The hotel is a little tired and could do with more touching up in many aspects (room decor, bathroom, cleanliness, painting, minor repairs) but as I said you have to keep in mind the price - right now it's very cheap.

What makes the difference at the Renaissance are the staff. Without exception they are fantastic - enthusiastic, helpful, and genuinely care that you are enjoying your stay. To be honest without this it might be a whole different experience! And that word genuinely is important. It is not uncommon for people in to be angling for tips which we have seen a lot in our travels, but that's not the case here - they're very much trying to help. I don't know how the management have instilled this in their team but it deserves a "well done" in my opinion.

So don't expect the luxuries of a 5 star, world class hotel and bear in mind the price you are paying and there is no reason you won't have a good stay.

This is a solid three star or at best a good 4 star and never a 5 star. We booked and paid for a sea view room and i telephoned a week before to make the staff aware this was our honeymoon. When we arrived we were made aware that we had NOT been given a sea view room which was strange as thats what we had paid for !! This was soon corrected and we were given a decent room which was clean tidy and acceptable. The resort needs some maintenance as the paths / walkways are crumbling in places , the toilet flush handles in the reception area were broken, some areas need the paint touching up ,there are rope bannisters up many of the stairs which are loose and look in poor condition.and for some strange reason very few of the light fittings are level,The food was really good and the staff try so so hard to please however the mosquitoes are horrendous and we witnessed some people with upto 25 bites per leg which made it not worth going out after dark. All in all an enjoyable holiday however we would not go back again. Shopping outside of the resort was a nightmare with people hanging around outside their shops hassling you at every possible chance , an initial hello from them quickly changed to ' hey i am talking to you ' if ignored. Egypt as a country has gone nowhere but down since they built the pyramids and out side the resorts its just filth upon filth . Decent resort fantastic staff but no return for us

Room Tip: Higher floored rooms are better for views if you get a sea view room
