“Dont believe what other people say...its fab!!!!”
Reviewed 24 June 2010

We stayed at the Concorde Sport for 2 weeks and it was lovely!!!,

Rooms
We had a double room which was very nice and spacious. Huge bed, loads of storage space 2 double wardrobes, but not many hangers. The bathroom was clean with loads of little bottles of toiletries, even shoe polish!. Included in the price was air-con, fridge and safe. Tv had a few english channels including 3 movie channels. We were near the reception which is nearer the airport but had no problems with noise but if your a light sleeper ask for a room away from reception.

Staff
The staff are all lovely. They majority of them speak very good English and are always trying to learn more. The room guys made towel sculptures for us and would do anything to help. You get 1.5ltr of water everyday in your room. The waiters are always there to get your drinks, the cocktails can be a bit strong but the non-alcoholic ones are very nice aswell. They all seem very proud to be doing their job and will do their upmost to help you, they do talk to English more than the russians but the russians are rude and ignore people!. We tipped the room maids LE£20 (about £2.50) and the waiters about the same for each week. £2.50 isnt much for 7 days of great service!!

Food
Anyone who complains about the food is hard to please!! There really is something for everyone. They usually have a local dish and other dishes from around the world. There is always burger buns, hot-dogs, fries, salad, pasta etc. They also had things like fajitas, canneloni, cottage pie, steak and kidney pie, we even had roast beef and yorkshire puds for sunday dinner. Every night there is a bbq which usually has chicken of fish, roasted veg, jacket spuds etc. If none of that appeals they make individual pizzas for you and there nice. Breakfast there were pancake, waffles, sausages, beef! bacon, tomatoes, they also make fried eggs or omeletes while you wait. Usual cereal, fruit and french pastries ect. Breakfast boxes are also available if your going on an early morning excursion, cairo, luxor etc. they dont cost anything just order the day before.

Location & facilities
The hotel has 2 sides and the hotel runs a shuttle to the front every 10 mins. The front isnt as friendly as the sport and it also get very busy with people not being able to get a sunbed-no probs with this at the sport. The hotel is only about 10 min walk from Soho Square which is a lovely place. No hassel in any of the shops. The restuarants are also lovely. the Bombay was very nice ate there twice. Would recommend it not expensive either was about LE£320(about £40) for 3 starters, 2 mains, 1 rice, 2 breads and 1.5ltr water. Go to the Ice Bar aswell its an experience...-5degrees!! You do get coats and gloves and a drink is included which includes international spirits costs about £17 each. The hotel also runs a shuttle 3 tiimes a day to Naama Bay. Do go as there are loads of shops and bargains. We went to egypt 2 years ago and found thid time that they dont hassel you hardly compared to what it was like. The hotel also has riding stables we did 1 hour for about LE£420 for both. We had never ridden before and a stable hand walked out for the full time we were out.

Excursions
We used a company called Sharm Day Tours, they have a website(www.sharmdaytours.com) and you can book before you go and a rep will come to your hotel to collect money. We cannot fault them they sent a text to say welcome to egypt during excursions they text to see if everything was ok, we had a slight problem with trip to cario but 1 text and 5 minutes later and everything was sorted. They communicated brilliantly and they even text to say they hoped we had have a nice time when we were going home. Would highly recommend.

Overall we had a fantastic time and would recommend this hotel to anybody.
Go and enjoy your holiday is what you make it!!!

We just returned from a 2 week stay at this hotel and the holiday went so quick, we enjoyed ourselves so much and the customer service is excellent (apart from one department*).

Big big thanks to Ashraf (cleaner) who added a nice touch to the holiday when he gave us flowers as I was ill, and also checked if we was ok and if needed water etc and also to Wahleed (Pool) excellent customer service from both of them.

The restaurant service is great - plenty of staff and they all work really hard, they could do with menus displaying the exact contents as sometimes you had to guess what you were eating which is not good if you had an allergy.
There was just one department that spoiled it and that was the staff in the Piano Bar, apart from Mohammed, Adel and Ahmed (who smiled no matter how busy they were!) they were all miserable which can ruin the atmosphere.
There is one member of staff in particular that shall remain nameless as I don't want to be responsible should anything arise from the comment but to talk quite happily to your customers one night and then to ignore them for the remainder of the stay and shake your head everytime we tried to get a drinks order is just not acceptable. If you're not happy in your job - leave. Its such a shame that this area let the rest of the hotel down.
There were bar menus but they were for non inclusive drinks, everywhere we've stopped before we have had a cocktail menu.

Snorkelling is a MUST from the Jetty, so beautiful.
Would travel before mid June as it reached 47C when we were there and that was at 9.30 in the morning, excellent air conditioning.

If we had to be picky..........
We had a late checkout room till 6pm and the room card stopped working at 12pm, so that was inconvenient going back to reception to exchange it on the last day.
Also there was a conference on whilst we stayed which reminded me of work and the delegates were noisy - it would be better if there was a separate accommodation and eating area as this proved annoying when you just wanted peace and quiet.

That being said we would go back, we are not going to let the behaviour of one member of Piano Bar staff ruin our opinion of the hotel.

I was really sceptical of booking this holiday - but I have to say I really did enjoy myself and it was fantastic !!!

The best feature of the hotel was definetley the pool - it was amazing, it was great to get up first thing in the morning dive in and then swim to the ledge and watch the sea - it was great !!

The service in this hotel was also good - especially in the main restraunt - although its hard to get a table on the outside if you go after 7-8 o'clock.

I really had a fab time and the food was great too although only the buffet restraunt included in the all inclusive, but still so much choice with themed nights.

Overall Great Holiday in a lovely location. Would definetley recommend egypt for a getaway during the winter.

I recently stayed here and was pleaseantly surprised and very impressed.

Cleanliness
Couldn't fault the maid he was fab, very polite really friendly, did a great job.
He went on holiday half way through our stay so we got a different maid for the second half of the week and he was just as good. (if a little quirky he wrapped our tooth brushes in new face cloths and hung my sunnies and jewelry off lams and folded my knickers =s)
The hotel itself was incredibly clean with alcohol hand cleansers dotted about for you to use.
There were always cleaners cleaning the floor or the windows in the main recpetion, was really impressed, it really did sparkle!

Service
Brilliant, they couldn't do enough for you.
Occaisionally you would wait a while before they asked your drink at dinner but this was only because at 7pm when it opens everyone turns up.
Apart from that staff were polite and friendly and seemingly proud to work there.
They all spoke english some better than others, some amazingly good.

Location
Beach wise the location is fine.
Short shuttle bus to the main sister hotel and then just a short walk down to the beach.
the beach was brilliant, plenty of shade, private jetty over the reef to snorkle off the end, worth taking your own snorkelling kit.
To get to Naama bay it takes about 15 mintues in a crazy taxi ride that you should expect to pay about 60 egyptian pounds for (we bartered to 50)
But it's not really with in walking distance to anything.

Value
Value for money indeed, I have never been AI before and was expecting it to be terrible, for the price we paid I expected to end up in a room that looked nothing like the brochure and be shoved at the back end of no where!
Not at all it was the complete opposite, rooms were fab and in great location!
The food was amazing lots of choice and breakfast was the best! Waffles and pancakes were always on offer =]

Rooms
The rooms were so impressive, massive comfy bed, massive room, drcent balcony, plenty of spare cusions and covers if needed.
The safe, air con, and remote were all included no deposite needed.
The bathroon had a hair dryer in and loads of little complimentary soaps and shower caps etc...
Showering just before dinner is a bad idea because everyone else is so you will get a hot and cold shower. We tended to leave it until 7 to get ready and go to dinner a little later.
Weighing scales in bathroom, extra phone =s, bottle opener =S, non slip mats and bath mats.
LOADS of cupboards for clothes, not too many hangers though.
Air con was a bit noisey but a heaven send!
Water bottles were provided everyday
Overall the rooms were just so impressive

Sleep Quality
Slept like a baby.
Unitl 4 days into the holiday and we got new neighbours. They were very noisey, but one quick trip to reception and that was all sorted. The offered to move us to a better room, but that meant re packing and un packing and we wanted to be close to our friends so we stayed put and thanked them for offering.

You honestly are treat like royalty. We spoke to other couples on the trip who were staying in the main Concorde El Salam hotel (Concorde Sport is the smaller sister hotel) and they said the preffered the sport, the staff were friendlier and the pool scene was better.

The pool was big and clean, small kids pool and small and big slides, pool bar in the shade, plenty of loungers!

Brilliant :)

A suburb hotel with an even better pool. Hotel split into 2 hotels... Front and Sport. We stayed at Sport which is less busy and smaller. Shuttle bus every 10 mins thought to Front hotel where Infinity pool and beach is so really easy. Nice to have choice to be honest!
Great view of sea from Front hotel and pool.
Service great- staff very helpful and friendly. All Inclusive food good although could be a little bit better but then i do have high expectations. Talked to 2 other english people who also stayed in Sharm but at a different hotel they said their food wasn't great so actually i think we did pretty well!
Free bottle of water in rooms everyday which makes a real difference plus room had fridge, tv, hairdryer and air con. Room good size and clean.
Beach good fun..... lots of activities, watersports, games etc - we're 25 and liked the mix of chilling out plus having fun! Has stables on site too which is good.. about £20 per hour which i think is pretty good!
Very hot- went up to about 45 degrees i think so could barely be out in in.
Overall, i had a great time would definitely stay there again if the chance arose!

I went to the Concorde El Salam Hotel to celebrate my 40th birthday with my Husband and another couple and i'd just like to say we had the most fantastic week. I had read the reviews before we went and couldn't believe what people had said about staff being unfriendly and lots of other things.
I have to say all staff were just fantastic, always there for anything you need. The food was the best that i have ever had on holiday, always fresh. The Italian restaurant was superb. We got upgraded to a 2 bedroom suite which was fantastic and the cleaners were great and always leaving us with animals made out of towels, we even came home one day and they had made us a man sitting watching tv, it was fantastic.
I cannot say enough about this hotel and the swim up pool was the best as soon as you swim up they already had your drink waiting for you...
I am definately going back next year..
