Just returned from a fantastic stay in Jolie Ville and the main reason was the entertainment team! The whole group were such a great laugh, all working extremely hard to make sure everyone was enjoying themselves! The activities provided were very good and the entertainment didn't pressure you to join in either which is fantastic! My son really enjoyed spending time with Loka who always had time for the kids which was fantastic!!! Would return just to see them again!!!
Food and service around the hotel was very good and overall was great value for you money!!!
See you all again soon!

My fiancé and I have just returned from a week at the Maritim Golf & Resort where we had a truly fantastic time. As we usually stay at the Maritim Royal Peninsula, we'd grown accustomed to a very large room size therefore when we arrived at this resort and were shown the sea view room we were disappointed at how small it appeared, this wasn't a problem as we mentioned this to the receptionist who arranged for a room in the Royal Wing - these rooms are highly recommended as they are more like bungalows which are within a minute walk from the pool. The staff, cleanliness and professionalism of the staff were on a par (no pun intended!) with the Royal Peninsula and the food and service in the Jolie Bistro were beyond expectations. The beach is a short walk away and is where we spent most of our time relaxing and snorkelling. Again, we received excellent service with staff regularly asking if we'd like another drink and hiking from the jetty, up around 30 wooden steps to the bar and back again, this is no mean feat in temperatures reaching 45 degrees and was really appreciated. We experienced massages in the spa and I had additional treatments such as a coconut scrub followed by a coffee scrub which prepped me perfectly for tanning. The only unfortunate thing about the spa is that it looks more like a public pool/changing area and was also quite tired therefore it wasn't the kind of spa experience that I'm used to.

The entertainment was excellent and we watched all manner of acrobatics and new and traditional dance acts through the window in the bistro. The on-site nightclub La Luna is good for a giggle and the shisha café is also very good.

My only real criticism is the "all-inclusive" which wasn't really all-in therefore we spent additional money on meals both on-site and out of the resort. The all-inclusive at the Royal Peninsula has the edge here, particularly for lunchtimes as the golf resort pool restaurant charged for meals although drinks were free. The meal at the beach bar consists of a buffet with usual salad offerings and then 4 other items to choose from which ranged from sausage rolls, mini pizza, chicken wings and so on. I personally did not like the buffet style as I do like to choose from a menu however it was so hot that we didn't eat much. The drinks are not inclusive at La Luna nightclub and you only have one inclusive meal at the Jolie Bistro. We did not visit the main restaurant at all during our stay as this was very busy with families with children and isn't the kind of dining we enjoy.

All-in-all, this was an excellent holiday and we were very sad to leave. I can't give enough praise to all the staff at Jolie Ville, including Mohammed the pool guy, Eid the lifeguard, David at the main pool bar and many more who really went the extra mile. We enjoyed it so much that we are about to start booking to go again at the end of September for another week.

Our heartfelt thanks.

Jasmin and Richard

Buffet breakfast and dinner was chaos. Rooms were rarely cleaned properly. Just about everything is over priced or of poor quality. You have to pay $80 per week for wifi which is also so slow and only available in the lobby.

We have been holidaying at the Maritim Jolie Ville for many many years, we are never disappointed with the cleanliness of all of the hotel public places and the excellent bedrooms. So much choice to sunbathe either by the many pools, some for families some are quieter plus the wonderful beach areas and piers. The many restaurants are all of a good standard, although on our last visit, October 2013 some restaurants were closed and some on shorter hours due to lack of clients. Yet the Chef was able to produce a special Lebanese meal for a birthday celebration.
All of the staff from towel boy to Director are absolutely lovely and nothing is too much trouble. The golf course is brilliant, but a little too hot for us!

Room Tip: Mountain view rooms are among the best

A wonderful relaxing stay. Friendly attentive staff, lovely food in a beautiful setting. I stayed in the royal wing which is lovely and would recommend it, also pay extra for the upgrade package. You get to eat in all the al a carte resturants, get a free massage and even a cooking lesson. True value for money. I also played 3 rounds of golf, 2 of them with the pro. He is a great coach and a really lovely guy. We had a lot of laughs and some great golf. I can't recommend this hotel highly enough but I would stress go the whole hog and get the extras it is well worth it.

Room Tip: Go for the royal wing, they are very large well equipt rooms. All set around a quiet pool with a lov...

I recently stayed at the Maritim Golf Resort from the 31st May until the 7th June. I had emailed the hotel several times before the arrival as it was my friends 30th birthday.

I had emailed to see if they may have done something like a room upgrade or even a cake or something to make his birthday more special. They seemed to suggest by the numerous emails back that they would but they didn't. This was disappointing due to the fact we were told by a member of staff that the hotel was only 14% occupied as well which was very apparent, the pools were more or less desserted and main restaurant barely full. The hotel itself was clean, however I would not agree with the 5 star rating, the rooms were standard although large. We went with the all inclusive board option, not realising the hotel had only just gone all inclusive. We were disappointed when we arrived and given the map where that we could eat, that we couldn't eat in all the restaurants mentioned on the website in fact half of the restaurants weren't open and when we asked the manager he came round the pool what we thought of the of the hotel, we said we were disappointed that half the restaurants were closed he said it was because they had just gone all inclusive and as the hotel wasn't full they had been closed. If we had known this before we went, we would have probably chosen another hotel, we paid more for this hotel because there were supposed to be more choices for bars, and restaurants and do not feel we got what we paid for. I have stayed at Hilton Sharks bay before and at the Laguna Vista for the same price there were more options for both food and drinks and cost less.

We went snorkelling one day which was good but the current was very strong and not much to see which was nobody's fault, however we tried to go two more days and the dive school was not open. When we went the first day the member of staff said he was going away the next day for 15 days and I assume that's why it was then closed when we tried to go again.

On the plus side the staff were amazing, the rooms were made up impeccably each day, the entertainment staff were always trying to get people involved in activities despite the limited number of guests in the hotel and the service couldn't have been faulted by anyone in the hotel.

Overall the holiday was relaxing and enjoyable but improvements needed to be an all inclusive hotel and to compete with other hotels in the area to warrant the 5 star rating.

Whilst we were there we did the Quad Biking with Sharm Life at sunrise which was amazing, I had done it before at sunset on a previous visit but was well worth doing for the different experience.

We also did the trip to Cairo by plane with Sharm Excursions which I would recommend to anyone, its a once in a lifetime experience it was a quick plane journey, which was well organised. The tour guide was brilliant, he recommended seeing the pyramids and getting better photos by riding across to them on a camel I have to agree we had some amazing pics. There is a lot of begging near the pyramids but although it sounds rude if you do ignore they will leave you alone.

I hope the review is useful for some.
