“Typical Naama Bay Hotel”
Reviewed 17 November 2012

This is our fourth stay here. Usually first weeks in November and March.Having tried a number of all inclusive options elsewhere in between(all too much family orienentated and overwrought for us- and usually no decent beach). The staff here are cheerful and the rooms well kept (you have to like hard beds in Egypt!).They have a sandwich and pattisserie/cafe. Four restaurants and beach BBQ They are priced as in the UK. Breakfasts are as good as any of the six or seven other hotels where we have stayed in Egypt.Drinks and food service at the pool is very good as is the provision of towels.
There is a pleasant central walkway and well kept grounds.
There is little interest in the entertainment provided and no bar culture. If you want somewhere quiet to stay with plenty of sunbeds, out of school holiday times, this is it.

Room Tip: Always choose main hotel - not annexe or other. If you like to stay at the room(ground floor) there...

the hotel all in all is in a great location just beside Nema bay so you will not be needing a taxi which will make you pay loads and has it's own private beach which gives you some sort of privacy, restaurant for breakfast is okay but it needs to be a little bit arranged and you will be looking for some silver wear, I kept looking for a dessert spoon for a while it was not with the table cover. but the food tastes good.

rooms are nice and you don't worry from the place of the room there is a club car to aid you, but try to refrain from the palm area as it's good for check in near to the reception but about 50 meters or more from the pool and about 100 meters to the beach.

In the room, the room was supposed to contain a tea & coffee tray and i found the boiler, the mugs, but no tea or coffee or even sugar.

the room amenities is there and they are all branded with the hotel brand.

the animation team is kinda quite i haven't felt their presence except one of them I saw her on the beach

the beach is a great sandy one, unlike other hotels in sharm "some of sharm hotels have a rocky beach"

In general the hotel needs a modernization touch, it feels like it's stuck on 1998 or 2000

The internet is for an extra charge

there is a shuttle bus for free from the airport to the hotel "that's about 15 minutes"

P.S: the hotel has nothing to do with Maritim chain at all, everything in the hotel states it's Jolie Ville hotel & Casino even the room amenities are all Jolie Ville, Maritim is just written on little things and a big sign on the main entrance.

Room Tip: Try to be as close as you can for the pool area, if you are there for leisure or staying more than o...

Ok, i agree with some of the comments up there. THIS IS NOT A FOUR OR FIVE STAR HOTEL!!!!!! Anyone who says this hotel is amazing obviously lives in a cave. First the beds are hard and there is NOTHING in the mini-bar. There is NO internet. We bought a 100 pound internet card that did not work!!!! The staff is paranoid and rude. We actually checked out and found another hotel after being harassed repeatedly by the security guards on the hotel grounds!!!!! Also, watch out because the staff will run you down in those electric carts!!!!!! They go 50 miles an hour at night with no lights around the hotel!!! The towel boy at the beach was extremely rude and said NO! he had no clean towels left for us. You will not be allowed to order any food from outside the hotel.

Room Tip: Choose another hotel!!!!

This hotel catered for all our needs, the staff are excellent and make you feel so welcome, the disabled accessible room (one of 2 on the beech side) was very clean and easy to get around in a wheelchair, the wetroom is manageable, our room was very near the pool and restaurants, the dining room had a section for wheelchair users. The beech is private and has c.6 disabled stations which have decking for easy access. The spa is good however, the treatment area has c.3 steps up to it they could improve this by putting a ramp in. The pool area is great but it does get very hot, there are steps into the pool however, I managed these by taking the wheelchair to the edge then with my husbands help sat on the side and used each step to aid me to enter the pool, the attendants were always there to help in anyway the could. Seagulls bar & restaurants has disabled toilets accessible by ramps (nearest tiolets to the beech) only disadvantage there is no ramp to the actual bar. We visited the casino once but this is across the VERY busy road and it's not worth it in a wheelchair. We did experience some aircraft noise but this hasn't put us off going again. If you have a stroll out of the complex you will experience a lot of annoying street sellers but don't let this deter you, it can be good fun if you like to barter. There is a carrefour supermarket nearby which has all prices marked and is up to 75% cheaper than the other supermarkets.

Room Tip: There are only 2 disabled rooms on the beech side, do what my husband did and contact hotel direct t...

My partner and I just returned from the Martim Jolie Ville resort in Naama Bay, we travelled for two weeks from September 20th, 2012.
This was our second time to Egypt after previously staying at the Golden Beach resort in Sharm, but we liked what we saw from Trip Advisor reviews of the Jolie Ville and wanted somewhere more central so decided to give it a go.

Firstly I will start with the positives:

- Hotel beach: In front of the hotel there is a private beach just for hotel guests, we went there every day and had no problems getting sun loungers, and lots of options if you want to sit in the sun or seek shade. There is also a beach bar that serves half price drinks between 12 and 1 which comes in very handy. There is also loads of water sports going on and a good ‘vibe’ generally.
- Weather: The weather was glorious for the whole two weeks and you really do pay for the weather when coming to this resort. The duration of the holiday the daytime temp didn’t drop below 37.
- Location: The location is ideal if you want to venture out into Naama Bay during the evening for food and drinks, there is also a pharmacy very close by as well as many shops, and a great supermarket for picking up your essentials.
- Hotel staff: Really helpful and friendly, no pressure to sign up or purchase things you don’t want – all have a great sense of humour and will do what they can for you. It’s a shame that not all nationalities of guests treat them with such respect as the English guests did.

On to the negatives which I don’t want to hammer home too much but really think needs to be said:
- Flight: If you are travelling with Thomson airways then be prepared that there is no entertainment on board anymore (I hear due to cost savings??), and the flights have become a bit ‘easyjetish’ with their selling methods on board. To me this is not a problem when it comes to short hops across to Europe but if we are talking about a 5 ½ hour flight to Egypt then I think this is a bit different, and a lot of people struggled without entertainment.
- Hotel in general: Thomson classes this as a 5 star hotel but I would put it closer to 3 stars at the moment. The hotel is in a dire need of a refurbishment, not necessarily in the rooms but in most public areas, the hotel looks very dated and am sure when it was first built it was amazing but not as much now.
- Hotel food: We stayed B&B so did not sample any of the dinners in the restaurant but the food at the beach bar and pool bar was not great, they have a great menu but the food did not live up to the promise.
- The pool: The pool area was ok but I am afraid has succumbed to a similar fate as the rest of the public areas of the hotel, many tiles are missing and a lot of the tiles on the steps are coming loose.

I think if you stay in this hotel you are paying more for the hotel location rather than 5 star quality luxuries like you probably get with hotels further afield in Sharm. This hotel has got the opportunity to show much more promise but seems to be fading due to the popularity of the all-inclusive hotels in Egypt.

Room Tip: Always request a room in the 'Preferred Area' - this is closer to the beach and pool areas...
