Stayed here recently with a friend, we couldn't have asked for a better location! It's very close to the lively part of naama bay and any closer to the beach and we would've been in the sea! The staff were friendly and willing to help with anything, we definitely recommend this hotel.

My first trip to this hotel and certainly won't be my last. Staff so kind and helpful, nothing is too much trouble and always with a smile. Special thanks to Moustapha and his lovely team in the restaurant, Osama and all the bar staff and of course not forgetting the amazing Makram at the pool. All of the staff work very hard all day long and remain happy and cheerful throughout, you are amazing guys and I can't wait to see you again. Thanks also to the management team who are constantly making sure that your stay is happy and carefree. Perched at the end of Namma Bay with direct access to the beach and amazing views, this is truly a gem to be revisited. :) xxx

Room Tip: Noise can be a problem on some side view rooms but I had no problems with my sea view room 126.

Just got back from a week at the Lido and had a great time. For the price it wouldn't be fair to give it less than a 5 rating. For me the absolute strengths were:

- the location - the best in Naama Bay without a doubt - the view is amazing and having the pool on the roof means a lovely breeze which is a life saver! Far enough from the main strip to avoid the constant buzz but close enough to walk in if you're a fan of the bars and shopping.

- the staff - friendly, helpful and determined to make sure you have a good stay. From the cleaners (the towel crocodile complete with bottle top eyes made my day!), the bar staff who work the craziest hours in the heat and are always ready with a smile (Mohammed, Waleed and Osama whilst we were there), the amazing pool guys (not just Makram who was on leave for most of our stay - but also the lovely Mahmoud who was a true gentleman), the waiters and chefs (don't know his name but the big smiley chef who makes amazing omelettes, pizzas and pasta to your personal preferences!) and the reception staff - everyone was great and managed to stay on the right side of friendly without being too in your face!

- the lack of entertainment - as a couple seeking a week of total relaxation, the lack of the usual enforced entertainment you get elsewhere was a welcome relief (with the added bonus that the Lido doesn't seem to attract families with kids!). The bar showed the World Cup in the evenings the the TV in the room had some English speaking channels - and that was plenty! If you want whirling dervishes and clubbing there's plenty on offer in Naama Bay a 5 minute walk away

- the choice of activities (if you want them!) - the snorkelling just off the private beach is great - fab lion fish; a scuba diving centre on site; a massage centre on site (my partner had 2 sports massages and said hey were great); paragliding, banana boats, glass bottomed boats, quad biking, boat trips to the best reefs, Sharm old town, Soho square etc. etc. - something for everyone

- the food - I think this might be a controversial one as it wasn't quite what I've experienced in other all inclusives! For me, a vegetarian who is willing is try most things as long as they haven't got a face, there was always something lovely to eat. Breakfast was fantastic - not sure the meat eaters will feel the same way though - especially anybody who expects a full English when they go abroad(!!) Omelettes or pancakes cooked with your choice of fillings, croissants, juice, pastries, toast, rice pudding (well, why not!) - what's not to love? Lunch was great - soups, salads, dips, breads, mains - and if you didn't fancy any of that, pizzas and pasta with your own choice of toppings. Oh and the house wine was perfectly drinkable. Dinner - was okay (not as good a breakfast and lunch) - similar to the lunch offering - it would have been nice to have had something a little different. I did't feel the need to, but the Head Chef (lovely smiling Mohammed(?)) was always on hand to offer something else if you couldn't see anything you liked.

- the cleanliness - as per the title I'm a clean freak! The sight of a stray hair (and God forbid a used plaster) is enough to make me feel physically sick and want to get the next flight home. I never, ever open drawers in hotel rooms or look under beds for fear that I'll see some stomach turning sight that will ruin my stay! I'm pleased to say that whilst quite basic, our room was spotlessly clean, as were the communal areas.

So, negatives? It seems a little mean to mention any given the above, but in the interests of a fair and balanced review I think it has to be acknowledged that the Lido isn't a 'luxury' all inclusive. It does a really great job at a really good (almost unbelievable) price - but it's not top-end. The bar offered only a limited range of drinks (and ran out of diet coke and soda water at points). The rooms are clean and comfortable but not luxurious (compared with some hotels). There was quite a lot of noise from the bars in Naama Bay - day and night. To be honest it didn't bother me - but I think a number of guests did complain. As far as I could tell, the Manager has tried to deal with noise from one particular bar, even contacting the police, but it persists. I feel sorry for the Lido as it's not their fault. Also, it's nothing a set of ear plugs won't fix - so if you need total silence to sleep I suggest you pack some! But the Lido isn't a haven of peace and quiet - it's on the edge of Naama Bay and right by the harbour which provides a backdrop of activity which I personally enjoyed watching going on. And finally, be prepared for regular visits from Tiger and others selling trips, the lovely man from the Massage place, the newspaper seller, and others hawking their wares! They will try really hard to get you to buy something but ultimately are kind and polite and will take no for an answer. Hey, they are trying to make a living in a market that has been massively hit by political shenanigans!

One thing which wasn't a problem for us but is worth noting is that there are lots of steps at the Lido. I wouldn't recommend it for anyone with limited mobility.

Overall, I loved the Lido; the choice of pool, jacuzzi or beach; freshly made pizza, pasta or tagine; beer (okay a bit weak), wine or cocktail; snorkelling, diving or snoozing! Thanks to all the lovely people who made it such a great stay.

Room Tip: We stayed in 301 which was really convenient for the pool. A sea front room would have been great.

We fully enjoyed our stay at this hotel which is in an unrivalled location .
The staff are genuinely helpful and nice, special mention to Macram, Samuel, Osama and the 3 Mohammad's .

The customer liaison lady Livia comes to see every guest personally every day to take note of any complaints/comments and report back to the management which I think can only improve things.
For all inclusive the food is quite good ( you will never please everyone)! We enjoyed most meals but it was so hot that most of the time we weren't really hungry.
Overall we loved it and will definitely return.
