“Almost perfect!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 October 2011

After reading about the Sensatori resorts, and previously enjoying a nearby resort in Sharm, we decided to try this resort not knowing it wasn't even built when we booked.
We were wowed by the entrance and the layout and position of the hotel along with the decor is fantastic. the swimming pool is spacious and right n the beach with plenty of sun beds and sun shades. There's lots of water activities available with scuba diving school in the hotel and snorkelling right on the jetty with a superb view of amazing coral and variaties of fishes.
The staff were courteous but this was also the biggest let down as many times had to repeat requests for drinks etc as they often forgot. I'm sure this with improve in time.
The rooms were very clean and swim up rooms very worth the extra.
Restaurants were good with the main one full of huge varieties of foods but difficult to book the specialist restaurants so book as early as poss!
Event entertainment was very good with Kylie look a likes and entertaining acts after the children's shows.
Overall very pleased with this holiday and would recommend and confident the service issues will improve in time.

Room Tip: Pick a swim up room for ultimate enjoyment.

We chose this hotel having had fantastic holidays at the other Sensatoris. This hotel has a few tweaks to make to beat the others, especially Tenerife, but I'm sure these will come in time.
We opted for a sea view whirlpool family room. Much has been made of these rooms not being worth the money, but ours was fantastic and also private. My toddler had her bath in the whirlpool every evening, overlooking the beach and sea. Heaven!
The same Sensatori issue remains in all of the hotels. People who sit in the family areas and moan about children. Even if the child has not walked a step or said a word, some people looked terrified. That is why Sensatori created adult only areas - use them!
The children's splash pool area was awful. It was like visiting a different hotel altogether. I would have hated a room round there.
The food was great. Lots of choice and we particularly loved the Maharaba. The stone grill was good and we got a cake for my husband's birthday celebration. The booking system wasn't open as long as in the other hotels, thereby creating a desperate stressed queue on the days that we went up at 10am.
Most of us got tummy upsets but there was alcohol gel and attention to hygiene everywhere. Unfortunately , people lifting food and sniffing it, poking fingers in food and not using tongs probably didn't help.
What sets the hotel apart was the service. With the exception of the stone grill, the service was amazing. Such lovely staff who kept drinks flowing and smiles coming. We tipped because they deserved it, not to buy service.
My one year old went to a couple of evening sessions in nursery and the staff were great. A lovely touch was that our daughter got a special folder with drawings and poems to bring home.
Oh and much has been said of tattoos. Yes there were tonnes and it made no difference to anyone's behaviour at all ( I have none!). Far worse were the child haters or the man that showed off about having a mega mac from McDonalds rather than the hotel food!
Altogether we had a fab time, relaxed and met some lovely people. We will definitely return.

I have just returned from the Sensatori Sharm El-Sheikh with my daughter who is 20; we had a great week the weather was excellent. We enjoyed the food very much. We didn’t bother with the ‘pay’ restaurants, even if we had managed to secure a table, however we did try the Italian and Asian restaurants and we were pleased with both. The pool area was great, we spent most of our time near the pool restaurant and the waiters there ensured that we were never without a drink. We never had any problem securing our sun beds even though we didn’t appear until well after breakfast. We got the impression that the hotel was full, we ourselves booked only three weeks prior to travelling, that said we never felt that it was overrun with people. We did however get a room in block 4, the family section. This initially worried me but actually it was fine, admittedly travelling in late September there were very few school age children. Our room 4112 overlooked the pool and was very nice and kept very clean, the room however does require some ‘snagging’. The shower was pathetic it delivered not much more than a weak trickle and I’m a gal with a lot of hair; in fact the best shower of the week was in the toilets under the pool bar on our last day! The bathroom mood lighting is a bit of a gimmick, however I did use the bath because the shower was so awful, sadly we couldn’t get the plug to ‘pop-up’ and spent the week using a knife to lever the plug out! We saw the George Michael and Michael Jackson tribute acts who were both entertaining and also enjoyed the comedy night. Sorry to say we didn’t partake of any of the trips, the purpose of the week was to lie in the sun, but we did venture onto the beach and enjoyed looking at the many different fish you could see from the jetty. Definitely considering returning again, and did think about booking a swim up room, but on reflection I don’t think they are worth the extra money, after all who is going to deliver your cocktails?

My husband and i went 7 Sept to 21 September.
The hotel is fabulous, the staff make the whole experience in our opinion!

We booked a standard double room with a pool view. However, we didn't have a pool view! To be fair we didn't complain as overall we were quite happy with the room and really couldn't be bothered to change and it didn't affect the value of our holiday what so ever. The bed wasn't comfortable and i did spend quite a few sleepless nights, but upon talking to other people they found the beds really comfy!

My husband is an extremely fussy eater, i on the other hand will eat anything! We felt we were spoilt for choice in everything the resort had to offer, no problems with the food great selection for everyone. We spent most nights in the Fountain view as we found it had almost anything we wanted. We did go to the Stonegrill, however, couldn't fault the service or food but it just didn't have the WOW factor, The Tiran was the same for us. Hubby was required to wear long trousers in all restaurants (and got away with 3/4 for a week before he was asked to leave both the fountain view and Tiran and change) but he would put a pair of shorts in my handbag to change into after dinner as its so hot especially if you sit at the adult bar at night. We didn't go to the other restaurants as we were too settled everyday to walk up to the lobby to book any of the restaurants at 10am! I do think the system for booking is a little inconvenient however i wouldn't be able to suggest anything that would work better!

We spent most days by the infinity pool and a big thank you to Rady who waited on us hand and foot, Great Guy. The staff at all bars, restuarants, cleaners and towel boys are so helpful, they work so hard an deserve every tip!

I used the spa three times during our stay, and cant fault the staff or the services. I had a pedicure (view across the sea amazing), massage and facial and felt thoroughly relax and revived after. They also offered discount days at half price which is well worth it.

We did the Thomson Ultimate desert experience which was fantastic good value! Snorkeling was brilliant great value to hire the snorkels £3 gbp for the afternoon.

Neither my husband or I got sick, but we did avoid seafood and some salads. We felt if you keep hydrated an drink loads of water its a good step to avoid being sick! My husband did get a few bad mossie bites which got infected (i didn't get any) but we went to the chemist behind the hotel and the pharmacist was fantastic, just gave us some cream and antihistamines, he was all cleared up in a couple of days! I Dont think its worth taking any medications with you as the chemist seems to have far better stuff and not really expensive.

The only negatives of our trip were, once the bars finished at midnight, it was an absolute struggle to even get a drink, which we were aware of that we would have to pay for and wasn't a problem but they clearly don't want people hanging around in the bars after midnight. We had met a few couples and some nights we felt we could have stayed a little later talking!
We also felt, you are quite a way out for anything. My husband likes to go for walks and apart from walking up the esplanade to the Baron there really isnt anywhere else without taking a taxi somewhere. I would say that the location is quite secluded.
I found all staff and Thomson reps to be outstanding helpful nothing was ever too much for anyone, however i did find the male sports team coordinator to be obnoxious. Too the point that i wouldn't be involved in the activities. but i would stress this did not affect my holiday at all.

Room Tip: Leave a piece of paper in the card slot so the air conditioning stays on! Its not such a shock then...

We stayed here for a week in September and could not fault it. We have been to Eygpt 3 times before and this was by far the best hotel we have stayed at. Previously we have stayed at the Baron Palms and the Hilton.

Neither of us got ill. The food was lovely and we had no trouble with the booking system for the restaurants and ate in them all.

Room was huge and bed so comfy we had a sea view room and it had a private balcony not overlooked at all.

Plenty of room around the pool and always being bought drinks to our sun beds. We used the main pool which was lovely. The hotel was very spacious and clean.

Will definatly return was great.

Just spent 10 days and could easily have stayed for longer - This is our 4th visit to Sharm, 1st at the Sensatori another excellent holiday. The hotel is very modern and contemporary, if you go expecting the opulence of an Egyptian hotel then you will be disappointed, I cannot fault anything about the hotel just that it doesn't give you the wow factor.
The staff cannot do enough for you drinks bought to you on the beach/pool, in decent plastic glasses as opposed to cups. The Fountain View restaurant was excellent, yes some of the food/plates could have been hotter. We ate at the Mahrabra and Stone Grill restaurants which we also of a high standard. The Stone Grill is not part of the A/I package, it was not expensive to eat there but the cost of the wine was ridiculous, however water and soft drinks were available with no cost. If the drinks were cheaper then more people would have wine which would create a better atmosphere.
Rooms amazing very spacious, huge bed, mood lighting in the bathrooms, however some of them do not have a Seaview etc ours faced the Tennis/Archery courts, although the balcony was huge and you did get an amazing view of the sun setting. On saying that we were upgraded (free of charge) to a room with a sea view and to top it off a Jacuzzi.
There is the usual towels on sun loungers which is the norm which is annoying but becomes the "norm" this will never change.
A Sensatori holiday can be as full on or as laid back as you desire, well worth a visit and would thoroughly recommend

Room Tip: Would recommed a room with a Sea View/Jacuzzi for the wow factor

just returned from sensatori and just loved it.I have been to egypt 3 times and this hotel has been the best so far.I stayed in ritz carlton and was dissapointed for supposely 5 star resort.I think it is woth givingthis hotel a 5 star as i felt well looked after and attention to detail for luxury.good tips though bring sea shoes and your own snorkel gear as very dear in hotel. On bad points and there are few there could have been a double bed in the secound room of our family suite as there was only a sofa for my daughter to sleep on so families be wary, but i thought the room myself and husband selpt in was fantastic. There were 5 of us and my daughter was the only one that got sick so great tip go straight to the chemist in the hotel and in 24hrs youl be fine,i also think they should put a free shuttle bus to nama bay as again there was 5 of us and we would have to take 2 taxis but to sum up this hotel i would definately go back but the prices have shot up for next year.

Room Tip: we stayed in top floor 2518 and got lift from looby so it was ok location,i would like to try swim u...
