“A great hotel, if you don't want to do much”
Reviewed 16 November 2011

A great hotel, if you don't want to do much. There is very little nearby and many of the tours and day trips leave at 2am or thereabouts.

That aside, the hotel is lovely and the staff generally are very pleasant and helpful. The food in the buffet is good and the entertainment is excellent. All inclusive drinks are free flowing by the pools (which are big and well maintained) and always served with a smile. The rooms are big and comfortable and the televisions show a decent range of English channels.

One slight drawback, for me at least, is that the place is full of Brits abroad. This is good news if that's your thing, but if you prefer less tattoos and swearing with your sunbathing, I'd recommend choosing somewhere else. As long as you are OK with that, it's an excellent place to go and do absolutely nothing for a week or so.

went to this hotel for a week in november. 15 minutes from airport, drinks in reception on arrival, suitcases taken to room for us. rooms very clean and modern, mood lighting in bathroom, jacuzzi bath, also hairdryer, iron, cleaned everyday if leave cleaner light on, huge bed could fit 4 people, tv with a few english channels and movies (extra fee). swimming pools a bit too cold to go into in november but plenty of pools about looked clean. very comfy sunbeds although unless you got up at 8 o clock everyday there wasnt many left, alot of sunbeds in shade, im sure the hotel thinks everybody comes to egypt to sit in the shade and the beds are very heavy to keep moving about (although the staff do help if they see you trying to move them). waiters constantly bringing you drinks/icecreams. beach towels provided. public toilets by pools very clean. food was good but not excellent, dined in marhaba (middle eastern) food came out warm but not hot, tiran (american diner) nothing american about it apart from one burger option although was still nice but dont go when its windy its a nightmare, casa bianca (italian) definatly the best out of the all inclusive option resturants very nice, stonegrill- good food and relatively cheap too, fountain view (main buffet)- plenty of variety, some food cooked infront of you, issue with people who wernt english not queueing (and getting away with it) you could be stood there for a while for someone to just push in, obviously just english who know how to queue. wine wasnt the best in the free resturants. whoever designed the hotel got the decoration down to a tee, it was amazing. entertainment good, plenty going on in the theatre and piano bar again constantly being served drinks. did a trip to naarma bay ordered taxi through hotel taxi man made us pay for a return trip luckily he did turn up to pick us up but naarma bay is the worst place ive been to in my whole life put us off anymore trips the whole holiday. now onto the service of the waiters/cleaners etc i could not believe the service we received never been any other hotel and received such fantastic service if i could have tipped every single person that worked there i would of done! 7star service! completely made the holiday that alone. the courtesy room service was definately not 5star however, rude at reception (the only time they were rude), had to carry our suitcases to a room the complete other end of the hotel, no towels provided to have a shower and another couple were coming out the bathroom of the hotel room as we were going in without it being cleaned was pretty disgusting. only saw the fountain go off once all holiday but was very spectacular when it did. overall though i would definatly return to this hotel, few little issues but nothing major, would recommend going.

Travelled from Belgium with Jetair. Paid 1000 euro each. Quite high compared to what our British and Italian were paying.
Although the all inclusive didn't foresee dining in the restaurants a la carte we didn't have to pay for the visit we had at the arab restaurant.
The hotel was very well kept except for the beach which was disappointingly dirty in some spots.
Hotel staff was generally speaking kind, although some of them were rude.
I was disappointed by the Clubhouse bar which had a bad aura and bad service

We think we could be back because we had a wonderful holiday

Room Tip: The room above 4000 are not very close to the restaurants and lobby. Might be annoying to walk 4-5 m...

We spent a week at the Sensatori Sharm, and enjoyed every minute of it. I was a bit worried after reading some of the previous reviews but found everything to our satisfaction.
We spent most of our time during the day on the beach and had no problem finding sunbeds at any time.
We booked 2 excursions through "Sharm Life" and they were fantastic, they were over £100 cheaper than Thomsons and the service they give is first class,Mido and Mahmoud came with us on the stargazing trip and they arranged for a cake that was iced with our names on and Happy Anniversary it was these personal touches that made it so much better. We also went to Cairo with them to the museum and the pyramids and had guide all day.
At night we went to the piano bar for our entertainment and one night we had two comedians which were very good.
Our rom was comfortable with a sea view moodlighting and jaccuzzi and the cleaner made our beds and decorated them with towels in the shape of hearts it was really nice.
Everyone in the hotel couldnt do enough for us the were always polite and smiling.
I cant imagine anyone being disappointed with the Sensatori.
We did tip some of the staff but it wasnt compulsary.
Most of the guests were British.
We were glad we chose this hotel and would recommend it to anyone thinking of going to Sharm.

Room Tip: Block 2 rooms with a sea view

Just returned from Sensatori Sharm El-Sheikh, fabulous week away. Short airport transfer, arrive at hotel and greeted with fruit juice and cool towels, shown to main restaurant while our bags were delivered to room. After dining we were met by a hotel rep who took us on a golf buggy to our room giving us a commentary and guidance as we went. Our room was brilliant - jacuzzi bath on balcony sea views quiet area, very clean, comfortable bed, mood lighting and music in bedroom all great. Never any problems with obtaining sun beds, pools are lovely, beach great, snorkelling best ever don't miss, staff (hotel and Thompsons) could not do enough for us, we felt like royalty. Food was excellent, spoilt for choice, all looked good and tasted good, no stomach bugs at all unlike previous visits to Egypt. Did trip to St Catherine's monastery, well worth it. We intend to return next year this holiday was so good.
