“What a fabulous holiday we had”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 July 2014

Holidayed here for two weeks during the late Bank holiday in May. I have only given 4 stars for the room because we had a few problems with the water, in a few occasions it was either running hit from the cold tap or running in a trickle. It was put right each time within half an hour if informing the staff and they were always very apologetic.
We didn't go into the restaurants which were not included in the all inclusive package - there was no need to as we were more than happy with the other restaurants. Apparently they are very expensive though. The staff are excellent, particularly Saide who was on the outside bar near the Italian restaurant. Mahmoud in the Fountains restaurant was also excellent and very attentive. In fact we did not have dealings with any member of staff who wasn't very pleasant and accommodating, they were all excellent.
I can highly recommend this hotel.

the holiday started well at sharm airport. very quick through arrivals straight to coach which was for sensatori guests only. cases had room numbers put on them at this point did not see them again until we got to our room. check in very quick and efficient directed to main restaurant which had been kept open for late arrivals. then taken by golf buggy to room. the room was very good standard and very clean kept this way throughout our stay by KHALEB a really nice lad. FOOD. the quality of food in all of the restaurants was to a good standard we had no problems finding things we liked and enjoyed. special mention for fountain Italian and tiran which was very good for lunch and evening meals. POOLS 8 o clock rule is observed for putting out of pool towels which is no great hassle but did observe towels laid by pool staff for guests were not removed draw your own conclusions on that. all pools and surrounding areas were kept very clean at all times. we had an excellent waiter AHMED around main pool area keeps you going with anything you ask for. also brought cartons of fruit packets of crisps and cold towels on a regular basis. ENTERTAINMENT very good throughout the hotel.piano bar good on evenings gets busy quickly. overseas acts also good well worth watching. resident staff also pretty good and they certainly work hard at what they do. we had room 1107 swim up with sea view. swim up about 3 meters wide lovely and warm. beach just10 meters from room really good sea views rooms from1102 to1119 well positioned for sun most of day. once again good service by waiters to swim ups who also tend to people on the beach these men work really hard all day.beach is good with plenty loungers and a pontoon jetty which is excellent for snorkelling. I would really recommend this hotel and will return in the future

I'm going to give a really long and detailed review which is of course based solely on our opinion which is formed by our experience of other resorts and personal preference. Some people wont agree with what we say, but I have tried to be fair so people can make an informed decision. We loved a lot about this hotel, but also disliked a few things that for us are key to a good holiday.
We traveled with 3 children age 7 months, 5 years and 10 years.

Airport:

Its military, its slow and they will try and get you to buy a visa which is only needed if you are heading out of Sharm. Head to the right once in the building to avoid visa's and get out as quick as possible. As long as you know its not top class and go with this in mind, its really not that bad.

Arrival at hotel:

Fab arrival, On getting to the hotel we were greeted with cocktails for kids and adults while we waited to check in, Beautiful lobby, the music from the piano bar wafting our way and plenty of smiling faces. Once our room was allocated we were told to go for dinner (arrived 9pm) they took our bags and directed us to the main restaurant. We walked through the top bar and were able to see the hotel at night for the first time. Stunning! The restaurant was easy enough to find and the staff were quick to seat us and serve drinks. After eating we used the map we were given at reception to find our room. Our bags were there and a porter not far away who rushed over and took our bags in.

Room:

Our family room was a good size, but be aware most family rooms are actually pretty small! They have 9 family rooms near the kids pool 4101-4109 which are bigger then the rest of the family rooms in the complex due to the way they are laid out. They generally reserve these (we were told) for larger families. With 3 kids I guess we were classed as a larger family.
We had the bathroom to the left with a jacuzzi bath and mood lighting (colour change bulb) above it. The bathroom is an okay size and comes with shampoo, conditioner, body wash, soap etc. so no need to take your own. There is also a hairdryer in the bathroom and weighing scales. Main room as said was a good size with a huge and very comfortable bed. It had a comfortable chair and small table, then a long dressing table with TV and tea and coffee making facilities on top and an empty fridge inside. In the main wardrobe there was an iron and ironing board, 2 dressing gowns, slippers and a safe. After the main room there are sliding doors with a small room on the other side. If you were a couple staying in this room you would find two small couches, if you have kids they are made up into beds... there was no other furniture in this area. We also had a baby with us and had a cotbed in the main room beside our bed. Beyond the kids room is the patio doors. For some people it might bother them walking through the kids room to get outside, but it didnt bother us at all, mainly as our kids sleep like logs there are also heavy curtains on the patio doors that blocked all light and sound, so they really were not disturbed if we sat on the patio at night. The patio was small with a table and four chairs. we were on the ground floor and had no barrier between us and the pathways which initially bothered us. We also found the view was of deck chairs and the kids pool and pretty dead and boring and we seriously considered asking to be moved. We changed our minds in the morning when the kids wanted to run out to the pools for a swim but we needed to sort things out, because they could still play in the pool while we were in the room as we could see them with the curtains open. We decided to stay in the room for the first week so they could get the kids pool out of their system and then we thought we'd upgrade the second week. It didn't happen though, as after looking at 2 jacuzzi rooms we realised our room was a fair bit bigger and while we could have had a better view and jacuzzi we would basically be paying more for a smaller room! Plus as the bath is a jacuzzi, we didn't really need that!

cleanliness:

They clean your room every day very well and never came too early or too late, they changed all towels and replenished shampoos etc as needed. It was always clean and, as an added bonus they also come every evening and turned down the beds.
No towel art though which was mildly disappointing: apparently some of the staff can do it and some cant.... ours couldn't but he did tuck in the kids stuffed animals and made simple designs with clothing which was nice.
Hotel all areas are very clean with spills cleaned up very quickly and bins/tables cleared frequently. Very clean.

Food:

It was fine. Not amazing but not bad either. BREAKFAST - lots of choice including toast, cereal, eggs and salad. You could have sweet pastries in a good variety or eggs and waffles made to order daily with a variety of topping. However the kids found the cereals all tasted bad even the chocolate rice krispies which is usually a real treat for them and the cold cut meats were largely all cheap reconstituted meat. The beef bacon however was actually pretty good and the salads were in my opinion very tasty. They also had quite a lot of fruit available, but if you wanted bananas you had to ask. LUNCH - You can eat in a few places for lunch: At the kids pool they make food to order and must say it was very nice food, but small portions. This was not a problem however as ordering more is no trouble for them. The main restaurant serves a variety of foods... a good variety no need to eat the same thing twice in a week really, but again it was good not great. Only occasionally were there really tasty dishes. The salads again in my opinion were the highlight. Lots of choice and very tasty. They did different stations here again so you can have Indian food, or British food or panini's for example. The Tiran on the beach serves burgers and chicken in the day and it was good. Big portions and a salad bar. I believe you can eat by the main pool also and in the sports bar but we never did so I can't comment on them. DINNER - ALL MALES OVER 16 MUST WEAR LONG TROUSERS TO DINNER - lots of people didn't seem to know this so be warned. There are 3 specialty restaurants which are free: American, Egyptian and Italian. The American does great chicken wings for a starter and good fajita's but bad steaks. My husband and I love steak and were very disappointed at the soft tasteless steaks we received on two occasions (tried different steaks in case we got it wrong). The Italian had reasonably nice food but the kids didn't like the pizza... not sure why as they normally love it. The Egyptian was overall good but my chicken was really dry and the service was painfully slow. Slow is fine to a point as we did enjoy chatting, but it was too long, it took over 2 hours to get to course number 3 and the dishes were not complicated and came out quick once ordered they just didn't seem to want to take our order for each course. However they did ask us, we were honest and they were very apologetic about it. The main self serve restaurant. Has a good variety with various options that seemed to change every few days. chicken, beef, salads, veg, breads, cheeses, and soups... There was plenty of choice, but again food was good, not great. desserts were plentiful but good, not great. On a Wednesday night they do a special meal night where they have cocktails available on entry to the restaurant, the tables are laid with different table cloths and napkins and they have a few different foods, like Sushi. We enjoyed that night.
Service overall (Apart from the Egyptian) in all areas was very friendly and quick, They are never able to do enough for you. The staff work long hours and really do a great job.
We never went to the pay restaurants, but were told that while the food is good it is very very expensive averaging £100 for a couple and £150 for a family of 4.

Pools:

The kids area and pools are separate to the rest of the pools. I must say it feels a little like the kids are pushed out of the way so as not to bother anyone. You also have plastic deck chairs here with no cushions while at the other pools there are solid wooden deck chairs with comfortable cushions... while I think this might somehow be health and safety related (not sure how) it does make you feel they don't take the same care to make families comfortable as they do couples. The kids pool has 2 slides open from 10am until sunset,. there is also in the same area a small splash pool with a big bucket that tips up water every few minutes. It has a small slide and various wheels you turn that makes water splash or squirt. It was fun but badly maintained as there is in one part a fabric bridge to walk up that has a net over it to help prevent slipping. The net was falling apart in several places and the fabric bridge had a large kid sized hole in it with various frayed ends. I put my hand on one section and it fell apart. I reported this as its an accident waiting to happen and they said they would fix it, but 5 days later it was not fixed and not even blocked off. They easily could have just blocked off the bridge as there are stairs also so it was still accessible. There is a bar at the kids pool and they serve you at your seat. kids can also get ice creams from a fridge by the bar until I think 2pm, there is also a snack bar open until 4pm at the kids pool. If you like the area there is no need to leave it. We did enjoy this area a few times but did feel very separate and kids got bored of it after a few days.
At the main pool there is also an infinity pool an activity pool and a toddler pool. At the activity pool they played water polo everyday at about 11am and had water walkers (hamster ball) every day at 12-1245. The main pool has aqua zumba from 12 - 1 and this is the only time of day they play music. The rest of the time it is either silent or there is low piped music playing in the background. You really need to know this before you go as some people love the silence while others hate it... we didn't like it, there was no energy until the zumba music came on and then everyone seemed to wake up! We spoke to several other couples who all said they would have liked music even if it was just for a few hours a day. We thought that maybe if they just had music at the kids pool this would be good enough as kids don't need or want silence and then adults can choose what they want.
There is also an adults only area and pool. we never used this but it looked good.
There are bars near each pool and staff coming round to serve you. They do a great job remembering what you like, but can be very slow when its busy, so you may want to consider ordering 2 drinks at a time. In the afternoons they bring round cool towels for your face and later pots of fresh fruit which was a very nice touch.
We found all the guests very friendly near pools and while initially we were worried our kids breaking the silence at the main pool would annoy people everyone smiled at them and chatted to us and them. We soon relaxed into it.
There were lots of kids at the kids pool but the average age was probably 4... there were almost no kids at the main pools or toddler pool but those there again were about average age of 4-5. We saw some kids that were older but they never seemed to be where we were even when we went in search of kids which meant my 10 year old daughter felt a bit bored and lonely at times. we think maybe they were all in swim up rooms. However lack of kids may have been due to us being slightly out of kids holidays but even when Scottish kids holidays started just at the end of our holidays and the number of Scots jumped up, we still only saw a few more older children. I did notice some mold on the tiles in the infinity pool and several missing tiles. This is just a point. It didn't affect our enjoyment but I know some people care about this.

Beach:

Really nice sand. Lots of sunbeds, they will still serve you drinks there. water is shallow for a long way and there is a sand island in the water when the tide is low that is good for a play or sunbathing. can see several fish in the shallows, a few tiny crabs and various other sea creatures.

Kids clubs:

Baby club in amazing. We booked our 7 month old in every afternoon for the 3 1/2 hour sessions to get him out of the heat and give us some time to relax. They did paintings with him most days. He tried lots of snacks and seemed happy whenever he went.
Kids club goes from age 3-13 years so my 5 years old and 10 year old went several times. They have odd times, with a 2 hour session each morning from 10-12 and a 1 hour session from 130-230 and another 1 hour session from 3-4. They have unsupervised sessions where you watch the kids colour etc. and they have Thursdays off so no sessions. It means you only as adults have the chance to relax or snorkel without kids in the morning. We found the times really silly. Again most kids were about age 5, although in the second week there were two 11 year olds who went also which helped my older daughter feel less out of place. They do a variety of activities but my 10 year old said it was usually only good for about 15 minutes while they actually did the activity and then they would draw or read stories about 'forest animals' (as she put it) which she said was very boring. She said the leaders were very strict and it was often a bit like school. She also said they insisted on shy kids talking and would say ' well we are all going to wait now until you speak as its very rude not to'. In my opinion thats out of order, its a kids holiday club and should be relaxed and fun!! However saying that my shy 5 year old really loved kids club.
They do a chocolate party one week and a sweet party another week which both my kids loved.
They do a sleepover which you have to pay extra for, but kids go from 8pm-8am and watch a movie and have hot chocolate and a few games. Its on a Monday night which coincides with the adult only comedy show. We were going to book our kids in and enjoy the show with our sleeping baby... but they will not let in any under 16s even if they are babies and fast asleep!! We did say we would leave if he woke up, but they still said no. Officially its adult only due to the content... so we really couldn't understand why a baby couldn't attend. Anyhow the point being that for us the sleepover then became pointless. We did however hear good reviews of the sleepover and kids apparently had a great time.
They do a couple movie nights which was nice and meant we could enjoy the piano bar.
Overall as parents we thought kids club was great for kids under about 7 years of age but too kiddy really for 7-13 year olds.
There is a teen room with pool table, computers and some games and an Xbox... its unsupervised and there never seemed to be anyone in it however it was right near our room and my 10 year old enjoyed going to play a game on the computer there. I think she felt quite grown up going to the 'teen room' even if noone else was there. We spoke to a family with teenagers who said they had expected some organised activities for them and found there were not any.
It was mixed emotions for us overall. Great baby club, well worth paying for. Good kids club for our 5 year old... but disappointing for our 10 year old.

Entertainment:

In 'The Venue' there is a variety of shows on most nights. Playhouse live its the kids show which is on 4 days a week. Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. The first one we saw was very disappointing as we quickly realised it again was aimed at very small kids. The average age here being about 3! They did a bit of a dance then had 'grandma' talking about the importance of bees, another little dance and then a bedtime story was read to the kids. My 10 year old who had been sooo excited for the kids show as this is usually her favorite part nearly cried! However we did find the shows improved over the two weeks (maybe we just started with a bad one or maybe our expectations dropped). The animation team can not be faulted as they work very very hard and really try to get the kids having fun... its just the content is sooo babyish for the most part with people dressed up as bees and flowers and then reading the 'three little pigs' at the end. If they got rid of the silly outfits and bedtime story and focused more on dance party moves it would suddenly have become appropriate for all ages and my 10 year old would have loved it. She did try and get involved but you could see she felt embarrassed dancing with 3, 4 and 5 year olds. We went to several though as our 5 year old loved it and was totally in awe of Ben and Anna the two main people. After the kids show they have another show, often a tribute act... these were good but not my personal cup of tea... the Jessy J tribute however was interactive and she got the kids on stage which was great. The Wickedly Broadway show was really very very good... we all loved that one. The Rock show was also really good. The rest in my opinion were okay but nothing to write home about. I get bored of singers and would have liked a magic act or something a bit different.
We went to the piano bar twice with the kids and twice without. We loved it there. The guitarist and pianist are excellent however not really great for kids. We played cards with ours to keep them from getting bored but they didn't really like being there and we saw several other bored kids there stuck on ipads and the like. Were able to go twice while the kids were watching movies at kids club and both loved that.

Activities:

They do have many activities you can sign up for like archery, early morning runs, yoga, scuba diving taster session, bowles on the beach etc.
Archery was great, they do some practice shots and then you play games in teams... we did that with our 10 year old several times and all loved it although be warned the area is really hot so bring water!
I did the scuba diving with my 10 year old also and the free taster session was great fun. (we also did it properly later).
My husband used the gym several times and said he loved it as it faces the sea and the view is amazing.
We did the water walkers and water polo but none of the other activities.
There is a lot to do and you can stay busy all day if you want to. We are not sun worshipers so having lots of choice in activities was a highlight.

Snorkeling:

The snorkeling is amazing!!! You can walk to the end of the jetty, jump in and are immediately surrounded by tropical fish! there is a section they rope off which is the hotels area but the coral around the end of the jetty is dirty and scummy looking and initially we thought it was very poor, but the further you get from the jetty the better it is. Also for great snorkeling swim to the right of the jetty outside of the roped off area. You can swim from Sensatori Jetty to the next one (another hotel) and it is so worth doing. We saw all sorts of fish including 'nemo' and 'dori'. The coral is amazing to view and the sea is both warm and water clear. About half way from our jetty to the next we were suddenly surrounded by fish swimming around and under us... amazing experience.

Excursions:

At the moment the Uk gov. is advising people not to go into the dessert due to the political unrest and some incidents that have occurred. This meant we were unable to do several we wanted to do... now you can still do them, but through operators outside the hotel. We decided not to risk it after seeing the bomb sniffer dog at the hotel gate, all the checkpoints with armed guards etc. We felt totally safe where we were but couldn't risk it with kids... so no quad biking, no star gazing, no st. catherines monastery. Very disappointing, however we found other things.
Tiran Island snorkeling trip was great we made 3 stops for snorkeling and saw great fish at all stops even the kids who hate the sea due to how salty it is loved it and got very excited. The food was also good and unlimited soft drinks were available. We didn't get up close to the ship wreak which we were expecting and that was a disappointment but they explained that too many other boats were there that day and it would mean the fish were scared off... good reason I guess, but i had promised the kids they'd see it and really they didn't. That didn't dampen our spirits, but I tell you this because the ship wreak is in the photo for the trip and if you expect to see it close up it is annoying not to.
We did parasailing and a tube ride. Parasailing was only okay as we have done paragliding before and after that sailing behind a boat for 7 minutes is pretty lame. The tube ride was great fun for everyone (baby didn't come) and would have liked to do it again.
Aqua Blue water park which we booked on the beach as Thomson only go to Cleo water park which is much smaller. We had a private transfer so we could leave when we wanted to and this worked very well for us. The water park has two areas that are excellent for very small kids and then lots of big rides. Not sure how many but we didn't get to do very many more than once. We all enjoyed it. They do not allow food to come in though... but we took some anyhow and no one stopped us or told us not to eat it when we pulled it out. It is part of a hotel but was not too packed and was very clean. Very good day out.
We also went to Nama Bay and Soho square. Nama bay was sooo hot and almost nowhere is covered!!! DO NOT go in the day... we were virtually the only people there as no one else was dumb enough to go in the day and it has to be said we nearly melted! Evening from about 5pm seems to be the right time to go. WARNING don't go near camels there or perfume shops, they WILL put children on camels and then walk off with them and demand money to get them back!!! If it does happen call out for police and for help as this is not considered acceptable by them... we did not have this experience on this occasion but do know people who did and it did happen to us the last time we were in Egypt.
Soho square is very pretty with many statues and pretty seating areas but again not good to go in the day, wait again until about 5pm when it picks up. There is a dancing fountain there that I believe goes off every hour and plays a few songs that the water 'dances' to. It was not overly impressive but kids liked it. Lots of restaurants and a few shops here. The shops do not hassle you here... they are not allowed to so its a much nicer area to shop in than Nama Bay... but also more expensive. Apparently some restaurants here make you wear long trousers to eat (if you are a man over 16 years old) we didn't experience this though. You can get Henna Tattoes and hair braiding etc. here, but be warned... they do not wait for the henna to dry before moving you on and if anything knocks it, it will smudge permanently. My daughters hair caught hers twice and it was a mess. The man did try to tidy it up but resented doing it... it then also happened to the girl right after us... You would think he would warn people to tie up hair! so if you get one... tie up hair!!
I did scuba diving with my 10 year old also. It was really good fun and booked on the beach front across from the sports bar. Be warned though we were told 30 -45 mins and we worked out after that we were only down for 20-25. The guy was clearly in a rush but still managed to write 30 mins as our dive length. I DO feel ripped off and even more annoyed that I ended up doing nothing about it. My daughter however didn't realise it was short and she loved every minute.

Extras:

Photographer. If like us you book a photo shoot be warned the guy is not very friendly, organised and not even a very good photographer. We booked a 6pm shoot and he took us outside to start leading us directly down steep steps... with a baby carriage, he offered no help, no apology and didn't even direct us to where we could take the buggy down a slope. Our baby didn't always look in the right direction and he was clearly annoyed by this. My younger daughter had something in her eye at one stage and again he was clearly annoyed that she squinted a few times. He also told us we would have an hour, but at 630 it became clear another family was waiting for their photoshoot to start... he then rushed us through more pictures without apologizing to the waiting family who we spoke to and were booked in at 630pm . It didn't feel fun or relaxed and the very average pictures he took reflected this. They were not all straight or centered and not well posed. He seems to do the same thing with every family and couple so I can imagine its pretty boring work for him... but he makes sure you know it! We did buy three but mainly because we really wanted a family pic and a couples pic.
He might have been having a bad day I suppose but I wouldn't use him again.

Buggy paths: These were in my opinion very bad. they were all over the place making everywhere accessible, but they have very little grip to them and were very slippery. I slipped a couple times in both sandals with grip and flip flops but didn't fall as I was holding the buggy. Both my daughters slipped over completely and I never felt 100% safe. Another woman said she also thought they were very slippery and a man passed me another time muttering 'these are s*^& aren't they?' as he passed... so it wasn't just me thinking it.

Managers reception: Every Tuesday at 7pm they have a managers reception on the patio near the restaurants. they serve cocktails and nibbles and there is music. We really enjoyed this. Its nice to have something a little different to look forward to.

Champagne reception: Every night from 7-8pm in the top bar. Again this is a nice touch that just starts off your evening.

So I guess thats it really... there are some excellent things about the hotel, but it was not our perfect resort. We have been to places with better food and much better kids clubs and entertainment for kids and adults. I think though the service was very good and the hotel is very beautiful. I don't think we are likely to return as it doesn't tick all the boxes for us as a family, but that wouldn't stop me recommending it. It really ends up being about what YOU want from a holiday. Some people will think this is paradise and others like us will come away a little disappointed but not sorry we tried it.

Dear Phornixx,

Thank you very much for your comprehensive review, it is very helpful for us to evaluate our performance in each area and I am sure future guests will also appreciate the effort you have made to provide a wealth of information.

I am sorry that you felt the family area was designed in a way that you felt we cared more about couples than families. I assure you that is not the case. The heavy sunbeds used at the main pool can pose a hazard to small children, moreover the family area sun loungers are easier to keep clean. It is not to discriminate families by having different beds. I am sorry you also felt the splash pool was poorly maintained, your comments are noted.

I am also sorry to read about the experience you have had with the photographer. Kodak is a third party operating separately from the hotel and their staff are rotated regularly. We usually do not involve ourselves within their operations but such complaints will be passed to them to take account of.

I hope that overall you have enjoyed your family holiday, although I feel sorry that you have left slightly disappointed. Nonetheless thank you again for your comments and also your willingness to recommend us.

Regards,
Mohamed Shaarawi

I went with my boyfriend for a week away in the sun and I can't say how impressed I was! The service by far was the best service I've ever had at hotels, food was great, pools were great and evening time was lovely and peaceful with a piano- no tacky evening entertainment!

The hotel has 5 a la carte and one main restaurant, we didn't go to the two a la cartes you had to pay for but the Italian, American and middle eastern were amazing and made the evenings so enjoyable!

We stayed in the hotel complex but we went on a camel ride, to the sheesha tents and did some water sports- it had everything at the hotel you didn't need to go out!

Service was brilliant and lovely staff they made the holiday so much fun!

I NEVER like to go back to the same hotel but this is the first time I have come back and CANNOT WAIT to go back!!!

Such an amazing romantic holiday- couldn't recommend it more!!!! So much more to say but fingers are hurting from typing- TRY IT OUT ITS AMAZEBALLS :-D

P.S- we will be back next year sensatori!!!!!!!!

Room Tip: We had sea view but pool view is probably better as you get the pool and the sea- sea view was quite...

Recently spent 11 days at the Sensatori hotel and it was the first time that we have been on a package holiday with Thomsons. The hotel is a good 4/5 star hotel and we agree with the other positive comments already posted. The snorkelling and SCUBA diving is very good!

The service is friendly and attentive throughout the hotel, but especially in the reception area bar. Although this may be spoilt in the future, as the at the poolside towel hut staff seemed eager for tips and I suspect that in time this will spread throughout the hotel. No real problem with this, but one of the benefits of an all-inclusive holiday is that you don’t generally need to carry cash around… Incidentally, if you need cash there are a few cash machines in the hotel and the exchange rates were better than the UK airport.

We were informed that the hotel was 97% full, but even so we never had a problem of getting sunbeds at any time. We were lazy for the first few days and used exactly the same poolside beds, then tried the ones on the beach. The hotel has a good policy of not allowing unattended beds before 08:00. Another nice touch was that the hotel kept the restaurant open for new arrivals, drinks and bottles of water were readily available.

A negative is that the free Wi-Fi has a very small range; the cost for open access throughout the hotel is very expensive. Included drinks were readily available until 12:00 midnight and the local beer quality was acceptable. Didn’t really need it, but we weren’t informed of the cost of the drinks upgrade package.

If you need to retain your room beyond the 12:00 checkout time, then this is available for about £45.00 - which we were told is cheaper than pre-booking through Thomsons. We retained our room until 18:00, which was ideal for us.

It’s nothing to do with the hotel, but the only thing to put us off returning would be the Thomson flight. I travel on a regular basis and the Thomson seats seem to be the shortest pitch that I have ever known. Officially they say that the standard seat pitch is 28”, which probably equates to the UK regulations that state that the minimum distance between the front of the back support cushion of a seat and the back of the seat or other fixed structure in front should be 26”. I would advise upgrading to have extra legroom, otherwise you will suffer! Also there is no entertainment system as it not classed as a long-haul flight.

Room Tip: We had two rooms: a double room with pool view and a family room. Both were spacious and very clean...

Dear Nix259,

Thank you for taking the time to leave your comments on your recent stay with us.

I am sorry that you felt the recreation team were eager for tips and felt this might be a concept that could spread around the hotel. In fact tipping for service is totally unacceptable by hotel policy and is something we reinforce regularly and act upon strongly when we discover an individual behaving in this way. Tipping is something personal to each guest but service should be of the highest standards to all guests equally.

I am sorry also you did not enjoy the flight. There are now Dreamliner flights running from selected UK airports to Sharm el Sheikh, perhaps you could enquire about this availability at the time of your next booking.

I am glad that overall you have enjoyed a relaxing stay and hope to welcome you again soon.

Regards,
Mohamed Shaarawi

Just back from a week of all inclusive bliss! The hotel is out of this world... Food, service, rooms and pool! All of the waiting staff are so polite and would do anything to make your experience extra special (especially Ahmed at the pool he was fantastic). The only down side to the hotel is the extremely poor wifi but this seems to be a problem everywhere in Egypt! Would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a week for relaxation.

Room Tip: Request block 2 for a fantastic view of the pool and sea

Following a debacle at the Holiday Village. We were transferred here at an extra cost. I have to say, it was worth every penny. Super clean, best beach in the area, food great, loads for the kids to do, spa fantastic, staff friendly and not selling to you like everywhere else in Egypt, The only slight was the kids club was only available at an hour at a time. Great holiday and well worth the extra money.
