“Happy to use this hotel again”
Reviewed 30 September 2013

Just returned from a 2 week stay at this hotel. Having stayed several times at the sister hotel Fayrouz across the road, I was anxious particularly after reading some of the recent reviews. However, I was very happy with my choice. My request for a room close to reception was arranged in Block 300 however, as previous reviews have reported, these rooms are located very close to the open air bar with very noisy music which goes on till midnight every night. I had a large very spacious room which was kept immaculately cleaned with regular linen changes and plentiful supply of good quality towels. The room was definitely in better condition than the Hilton Fayrouz rooms which are sadly tired and in need of upgrading. I did not use any of the Dreams facilities such as the many swimming pools but used the beach at Fayrouz on a daily basis and it has some fantastic snorkelling straight from the beach. The beach was very quiet. I stayed on a B and B basis and the breakfasts were very repetitive and not quite of a Hilton standard eg no fresh fruit juice or selection of fresh fruit.
I was happy with my stay at this hotel and I'm looking forward to a return visit in January 2014.

Great food, good pool and pool bar, abdel chef in fish restaurant is great. Made best sea bass ever. Staff great with kids.
Clean pool towels available all times. Bed made daily. Menu in room is not the best at night but staff is happy to help.
Changed the pillows on request.
Now comes the food bit. Breakfast is well laid and the omelettes are good, at the same counter you can have pancakes and waffles.
They allow to take yoghurt and fruit with some bakery items to be taken to room when wife was not feeling well.
Fish is amazing and abdel knows how to tickle the taste buds.
Pizza place is average to good but evenings are good to have a beachside meal.
Ice cream man kept my 3 year old happy.
Beware of the camel man outside as he can charge you too much.

all in all great holiday.

We really disliked this hotel and it was a huge disappointment. At best it is a 3* hotel and I would strongly recommend against it. If you want cheap food which is badly cooked and tonnes of cheap cocktails then this is the place for you, otherwise I suggest you avoid the place.

FOOD. In terms of the food, it is the main restaurant which is the problem. I am a vegetarian and I had bacon added to my omelette one morning (the frying pan was not clean from the person before me). My partner found ceramic tile added to the home-made muesli one morning. The food was badly cooked and tasted quite horrible. A real disappointment. The cocktails didn't taste great either (unless you paid extra and had the cocktails which are not on the all-inclusive menu).

STAFF. A number of members of staff (although not all) had a real attitude problem. I particularly disliked the "chat up" lines which some staff made towards me. I am on holiday with my partner and I have asked for a coffee please, I did not ask for a coffee and a number of chat up lines. Perhaps some guests like this (and I get the impression they did), but for me I found it inappropriate and annoying. Some Staff lacked basic English and couldn't answer even simple questions about the opening hours of the restaurant for lunch. On one occasion I asked the pool attendant to please find me an umbrella as it was busy and all seemed to be in use. The attendant was quite rude to me and I waited in the 30C+ heat for about half an hour and an umbrella never materialised. I had to go to reception to speak with the Guest Relations Manager just so an umbrella could be found. The staff from the spa came to us about five times daily, for a week, trying to sell us massage. We wanted peace and quiet, not to be hassled about massage day after day.

POOLS. The pools are well maintained, but the "jacuzzi" I am told had been broken for the last 6 years. The "jacuzzi" is used as another regular swimming pool.

ROOMS. Lack character and are more typical of a 3* hotel like a Travel Lodge. The resort is on a large hill so we had to walk up it every time we wished to get to the restaurant or reception (or to call a buggy car to collect us - we weren't lazy but just didn't want to walk in the heat). Alternatively, we had to walk down to the pools and then catch a lift up. We had to complain about the cleaning as sometimes the rooms were not cleaned until late afternoon.

We certainly won't go back to this hotel. Overall it felt like it was catered for the masses and hoards of people who want to eat and drink to excess. I didn't want to drink the alcohol and couldn't even get a fresh fruit juice on the all inclusive menu. Additionally, I didn't want a tonne of food, just a small quantity of something edible. Disappointing.

Stayed in sept 2013 room was great, pools were great, entertainment during the day and evening was fantastic
The staff were friendly and helpful at all times
The only negative thing I would say is the food was very tasty but no variety the same thing for lunch and dinner everyday....breakfast was fine and if your taking kids then they can have burgers hotdogs from the snack bar if you wish......The hotel is all inclusive however they have a Mexican restaurant and an Italian and Lebanise restaurant but these are not all inclusive and you have to pay not overly expensive so take extra money and then you can alternate the food then I would say you'll have a perfect holiday Egyptians are wonderful people and we would go back.xxxxxx
