We stayed at the Fayrouz for a week. Based on our experience the hotel deserves its high ratings. The hotel arranged transfers for us and on arrival we were welcomed personally and given a choice of two rooms including an upgrade to a junior suite (which we declined because the front row chalet we had, room 132, was in a quiet location and only a few metres away from the beach). As a HHonours member we were given complimentary water each day and the servicing of the room was the best we have ever experienced. My thanks and congratulations goes to Shaker who looked after us and was very creative with his bed designs! We stayed B&B as we like to try different restaurants although being off season the hotel did offer us a HB deal at 100EGP per person per night for dinner (about £12.50 pp) which was a good deal but we declined. The breakfast was good with fresh orange juice and a wide choice in the buffet. The hotel has a number of pools one of which was heated and we swam in that every day. We tried the main pool which was nice but very cold, great if you need a refreshing dip. The private beach is the best along the front. Big fresh towels everday and lots of security guys providing assurance. Many of the hotels have two parts one either side of the Peace Road (which incidently is not very peaceful!) so its worth checking that you are beach side.
In the evenings we tried various restaurants.. the best by far in our view are the Pomodoro and Tandoori which are both linked to the Camel Hotel in the centre of the resort. The Hard Rock cafe is worth a visit and The Pirates bar in the hotel was good as well. Local beers are cheap here between 6 and 9 in the evening. For a snack or coffee we would suggest the little cafe that sits on the hotels beach front opposite the Italian. You can also get free wi-fi here wheras the hotel charges 25EGP for 30 minutes or about 120EGP per day for the wired service in the rooms. We went for long walks in the afternoon and often stopped at the Starbucks on the Peace Road which had some very friendly staff. The best supermarket is in the same location (called 24/7). If you want yesterdays British newspaper, there are plenty of hawkers happy to part you with your money - you need good negotiating skills to get a decent price! The hotels grounds and gardens are beautiful and well maintained by what seems to be a huge team of gardeners. In conclusion I would say the Hilton Fayrouz is a great place to relax for a week and what makes it special is firstly its staff and secondly its location. We would stay there again if we return to Sharm
