“Exceeded my expectations”
Reviewed 28 November 2012

Having never been to Egypt (but everyone else had) i didnt know what to expect, some had a great time, others not. But i could not fault this hotel, the room was large, clean and the beds comfortable, the staff very helpful and our luggage was delivered direct to our room. Being such a large complex we were glad of this as it was quite a walk, i would advise anyone with a disability to let the hotel know before you arrive (as others found out). The food choice was fantastic and i can honestly say i did not have one bad meal at the main buffet or A La Carte restaurants, the choice for lunch was equally as good. Yes you do get asked 20 times if you want to book a trip, but once you have said no they do respect it.
Lindsey and Samantha in guest relations were so helpful and friendly on the do 's and dont's within and outside of the resort and had great tips! It was great to talk to people who lived there and clearly loved it. The animation team including Rikky, Alex and Uka were entertaining without being too annoying and you could either get involved or not. If you wanted a quieter pool, there were two others to choose from. The evening s were quiet, but you could choose from a variety of bars, and all inclusive really was, the cocktails were great!
It certainly is a good idea to talk to people and ask questions, many we met were on their 7th or 8th stay at the hotel. If people think it needs a lick of paint, the reality is - Its Egypt - and my expectations were exceeded at this hotel, my sister had stayed at another previously and she also thought it was wonderful. The waiters were friendly , respectful and somehow knew who you were within a day, and would provide your drink before you had got back to the table, nothing was too much trouble and they did not expect a tip or change their service in any way. A very relaxed enjoyable stay at this hotel of which i would recommend.

Room Tip: Try to get near the pool main restaurant and beach, although its a walk to the main lobby it was ide...

We have just came back from a week here after paying £1250 with Thompson for a week for 2 thought we would be in a nice hotel I was very wrong! Upon entering my room I was confronted with a very mouldy bathroom with stinky cracked tiles and fan falling out the wall and a bad leak all over the floor from the toilet. In the main room towels ,rug and sheets were stained and dirty. Outside on the balcony the plaster was dropping off on the siting area so was not safe to sit out there. They could not upgrade us or move our room as the hotel was sold out. They tried to repair the toilet over two days so our bathroom was not in use and very dirty one day they were working in the room till 11.50pm when we said with no apology. Outside the hotel is in very bad disrepair the pools no paint on the bottoms cracked tiles around broken brickwork ECT ECT. Everyday around the pool we were hassled by sales reps that won't take no for an answer. Only good thing was the food verity was good. But they was never clean tables available and most days they had run out of cutlery, to tip it all off our 3 bags were lost on the return flight! We complained to both the hotel and thompsons no apology from the hotel reception was very rude. Thompsons I emailed complaints and still have had no reply, so thanks for fleecing me thompson.

Me and my husband av just returned from 2 weeks at this hotel and were quite wary due to some ov the reviews... But we had no complaints the hotel is a little tired in places and 1 ov the pools especially but there are 3 more and the beach so it's really not a issue.
The food is lovely and there is so much to choose from the Chinese al a carte is beautiful we ate there twice.
All the staff are amazing and can not do enough for you we did tip some ov them and so never had to go to the bar or get up early for sun beds they were saved for us every day.
All in all a great place and we would highly recommend it

Thomson flight ok but found we could only load our cases on their transfer coach by tipping the guy. Hotel 3 star at best, and decor tired. Eating in their main hall was like stepping back into a 1960's holiday camp. Fortunately we ate most nights in the al a carte restaurants which were very good. Men MUST wear long trousers to dine. Staff good and excellent if tipped. Beware mozzi's take plugins and spray. Try the'Glass bottom boat' with Desert Rose on the beach only £15 each and avoid Thompson excursions being poor value. Hotel shop wanted 500LE one day and 200LE the next for same souvenier, so beware, and ripped off in Soho Sq shopping centre were we had to wait 2hrs for a Chinese meal as the staff watched footie. Hotel grows on you but so does mold like the pool. Outside the hotel is so very dirty and sadly you are endlessly pestered and hassled.

Room Tip: Stayed in room 22105 very close to reception and the best restaurants. You can catch the hotel trai...

Spent a very relaxing all inclusive week here in November!

This hotel is huge with 880 rooms, 5 restaurants, and 3 swimming pools. It is on the Peace Road in Nabq Bay with its own private beach and jetty leading out into the Red Sea where you can swim and snorkel and see all the beautiful tropical fish along the reef (finding Nemo was so easy!)

All inclusive here really does mean all inclusive. You can eat every night at one of the a la carte restaurants either mediterranean, italian, chinese, or seafood though you have to book for either the 7'oclock or 9 o'clock sitting. We would say that the Chinese was the best but the italian was good too. The main restaurant is the buffett style Marrakesh and serves a good variety of food including Beef Wellington and Veal Pie as well as staples such as pasta and chicken nuggets. The breakfasts were good too with plenty of variety including omelettes cooked fresh to order, spicy baked beans and lovely breads and pastries( My husband missed his bacon and pork sausage though!)

In the many bars, there was always a choice of alcoholic or none alcoholic coktails and the local spirits which were included were mostly OK (though my husband did say the whisky smelled of TCP!) Perfectly palatable house wine was always included in the restaurants (and distributed freely) though higher quality European wines were available at an extra cost.

The service was charming and attentive, as other reviewers have said they could'nt do enough for us and always had a smile. The room was kept immaculately clean, we were given fresh towels every day and our tea and coffee was re-stocked every day.

The rooms are very spacious, especially the bathrooms (though ours was a little battered here and there). The flat screen TV was very large and offered a good variety of films mostly in English with sub titles. We were amazed to see that Saudi TV has The X Factor and The Voice, (just like at home really!) The room had an efficient air con sytem and the shower was fine with a plentiful supply of hot water. The was a small fridge and a safe as well as a kettle and a hairdryer and a shaver socket

The only downsides to this hotel were the poor wifi, (only in the lobby and very very slow) and the mosquitos which meant that full length trousers and shoes were necessary every evening to prevent us being eaten alive!

A word about our fellow guests: there were lots of very rude (often very drunk) Russians and lots of very polite Germans- not the best mix!

Room Tip: If you dont like disco music ask for a room well away from the amphitheatre where the kids disco and...

hi this is a nice hotel, its not a 4-5 star by any stretch of the imagination. Rooms are clean and comfortable with plenty of room. the food in the main buffet was good which is why i picked this hotel. The a la carte restaurants were a nice change but had limited menus. the hotel is very clean and tidy. Apart from the reception area which is just splendid, the hotel is showing sings of wear n tear. So if a missing tile in the bathroom ruins your holiday stay away. Although this hotel has the longest jetty it was closed for the duration of our stay. and for our entire 8 day stay we were told it will be open tomorrow. unfortunately tomorrow never came. I would recommend sharks bay for snorkelling until they get the jetty fixed.

Having only experienced Caribbean all inclusives we thought we would choose Egypt as it was not too far and seemed good value for money.
We travelled from Doncaster as £280 cheaper than East Mids and very good. The car parking could not be any closer unless it was in the terminal!
Having read comments on here I was prepared for the Russians, who lived up to their rude reputation. We also took PRO107 from Holland & Barratt to prevent Egyptian Belly, however my husband fell victim to it for most of the week, this then put me off the food a little.
We used insect spray and aftersun with repellant in it from Boots and I got one bite the first night and that was it.
The beach was nice, and the pier was good even though half of it was shut.snorkelling was best left until the afternoon as the tide was out until after lunch.
Breakfast was a little disappointing as no fresh juices and tasteless yoghurt but still plenty of choice. Upstairs in the buffet restaurant was definitely the best as not so busy. Lunch time was always good and the evening buffet always looked good.sometimes wished we had gone there instead of the speciality ones. The Cairo to Sharm night was actually sampled after dinning at the Chinese and was far superior. I highly recommend the kebabs on the outside terrace.
The Chinese was not as good as I expected, the Italian had nice decor, desserts a bit tasteless, the Mediterranean was very good as was the fish restaurant.
The grounds of the hotels are pretty and well maintined and the pools are good. Although it could do with a good paint and our balcony furniture was falling apart.
We got permanently harassed as soon as we stepped outside the hotel even though it had a sign saying 'hassle free zone'.
We felt that the staff could not do enough for you, but our room cleaner was always lurking for a tip.He always appeared as if by magic every time you went to your room which I found uncomfortable. He arrived at just gone eight the first morning after we only arrived at10pm the previous night and asked what time to return, but then never cleaned before 4pm,if at all some days. Our fridge did not wrk but this was rectified and a few times we had to ask if we could have some towels as they had not been replaced by 6pm. On the last day we paid 30ep to keep the room until 6pm only to leave at 5.15pm to find the cleaner stood outside waiting(for another tip).
The bar staff in the lobby worked very long hours and always helpful. The daytime staff were probably better once given a financial incentive. One pool boy approached my husband when he was sunbathing to change money for him which seemed bizarre when he was very friendly with other holiday makers.
If you want a cheapish out of season holiday without going long haul then it is ok, but it was second class to the RIU's we have been to in Mexico and Jamaica.Overall I was a little disappointed with Egypt and felt some of the staff expect tips.
