“Better late than never”

My wife and I stayed in this lovely hotel back in May this year.
After reading some negative comments we thought we should say how much we enjoyed are 10 nights stay,the staff are amongst the friendliest we ever come a crossed and are a asset to the company.We can not wait till February when we will be returning with other family members.

What a marvellous holiday – we had 3 rooms and ages varied What from 30’s to late 60’s
And we all had a fabulous holiday .. the rooms were upgraded on arrival . (bathroom needs upgrading – and hairdryer was less than usless ) but the room for fit for purpose
we have great location in block 6 – the main pool on one side and
The quite pool on the other side – bars also all near. The main reception area and the beach both in very easy reach .
The food was excellent , but we did use the Alcarte restaurants most nites, we went to the Italian twice , the Egyptian twice and the fish restaurant once
We used the buffet for breakfast and sometimes lunch , but the best lunch was always at the beach . big thank you to Bebo and Mohammed for making the best pizza’s ever 

The Animation team - Gemma , Danny and crew - kept everyone going around the pool, but only if you wanted to , they were not pushy,
And put on some good shows, the hours these guys work has to be admired.
All the staff were excellent , not looking for tips .. even though we did , but not until the end of the holiday

the only down side was the spa ... the people became quite annoying for the first few days until they realised they could not wear us down... why would we pay £50 for a massage in Egypt when we would not pay that in the UK ??? they came down to £25 ...sorry but for 1 hour ,,far to high, we offered £15 each but this was refused !! .. .. but i dont blame the staff... I blame the management .. for that ..they are to greedy !!

We will be coming back to this hotel

We went on the 7th Nov. for a week it was our 15th time in Sharm and we were not disappointed . on arrival we were upgraded to a suite .The room was very nice and spacious . The waiters in the bars and restaurants were excellent especially Hamd .The only crittism we had was the lack of glasses and cups at busy times in the main restaurant .And the very rude russians who if allowed would push in and demand glasses to be filled to the brim even though they had babies in their arms and were clearly drunk. We would certainly return to this hotel.

We went for the last 2 weeks in October with seven of us in the group, my 3 children aged 5, 7 and 9, my parents who are in their 70s and my 19 year old niece. We had a fantastic time. On arrival, I asked if my parents could be close to us, so they upgraded them to a junior suite which was closer. The rooms are large and spotless, especially as the cleaner comes every day. The lobby is beautiful with waiter service from the bar. The Wifi in the lobby is fairly frustrating unless you go early in the morning.
The main restaurant, the Marakesh, is very nice. I was a bit worried as we were staying over half term but there was lots to chose from and replenished as soon as something ran out. The staff in there were lovely. Our waiter, Korany, who looked after us for most of the holiday, was so polite and went out of his way to make sure we had a table that we could all fit on every day. His team were all so helpful and really made the restaurant friendly. Nothing was too much trouble for any of them, from the chefs and waiters, to the cleaners.
The A La Carte restaurants were all nice too, although they do use too much salt in there!

The grounds of the hotel are beautifully kept. We spent most of our time at the pool nearest the lobby. The pool staff were brilliant, carrying our towels to our sunbeds for us and were also active lifeguards. One jumped in the water to rescue my 5 year old (Ben if you remember him!) who was unfortunately pretending to drown! Sorry guys! As has been mentioned before in some reviews, the bottom of the swimming pool is a bit rough in places and could probably do with a touch up soon, but nothing major. The barmen at the pool bar were also lovely, regularly coming to see if we needed more drinks and are so friendly and polite.

My mum and I had a treatment in the Spa and to be honest this was overpriced and not something we would do again.

We booked a couple of trips, with the men who come around the pools, not the ones on the beach, and they were great fun, especially the boat snorkelling one.

The shops in the lobby aren't too expensive if you haggle well, but there is a supermarket as you turn right out of the hotel which is cheaper.

The entertainment was good, although we didn't go to much of it. My kids didn't enjoy the kids club. They went one morning and said it was very babyish and boring. The kids there were a wide range of ages and I guess it's difficult to please them all!

There are a lot of Russians at the hotel and are very rude, greedy and unable to queue anywhere! Stand your ground!

Take mosquito stuff with you, especially the plug in type.

All in all, it was a really lovely hotel and holiday and we will certainly be going back!

This has to be one of the best holidays we have had. Every member of staff - front of house / bar/ restaurant / cleaners and even the graden staff were excellent and certainly made the holiday. Hotel is set in lovely gardens but hotel bathroom could have done with a touch up. Food was great with lots of choices. We have looked to go back but Thompson do not seem to include this hotel now so unsure how to find out the tour companies that go to this great hotel.

The hotel was beautiful and the service was great, overall a great experience. The animation team Danny and Lewis were great and really made our holiday showing us some lovely bars around sharm full of english people. The staff were all polite and helpful, we got given a junior suit it was lovely and clean. Food was nice too we liked the al e carte restaurants. would defiantly come back here!!

Stayed at the TGA from 28 Oct to 4 Nov and this was our 3rd or 4th time to this hotel, but the first time to Egypt and this hotel for our 2 boys (15 and 18). You will be able to find a much more in-depth review of this hotel from my 2009 report, but I will just update for this visit here.
Nothing has really changed here, it’s still a first rate hotel with fantastic staff that really make your holiday special. Yes, the hotel is looking a little tired in places (as everyone has already said), especially around the main large pool area where there is cracked cement and little stones everywhere that are hard to walk on. The rooms are kept very clean, as always, with the room cleaning staff going the extra mile to be friendly and helpful in every way.
The problem with the hotel is that it’s open all year round, so any extensive re-decoration is difficult, but we did notice 1 or 2 whole cluster blocks screened off and they were being completely gutted and renovated. We were told that each cluster would take up to 3 months to complete and would be ‘very special’ when finished with ‘Royal’ suites etc. I think that the TGA is going to do the same with each cluster until they have completely renovated, but obviously this will take some time. In the meantime, life goes on there, with the staff really trying hard to make your holiday as good as they can.

It wasn’t at full capacity when we were there, but we still had a great time and were welcomed back as ‘old friends’ by everyone from the reception desk, to the pool/beach guys, to the restaurant guys – it was a lovely genuine welcome and the boys were surprised at how friendly everyone was.
The sun beds on the beach really could do with replacing, but hopefully the TGA will get round to that with all the other upgrades.
All 4 Al la carte restaurants were open and were as good as always. The main restaurant was the same, with the odd nutters queuing avidly to get in the second it opened and fighting to get food – just leave it for half an hour after opening and the queues are gone and you can select your food and eat in peace!
None of us had any problems with the food and no upset tummies – this is another reason why we always choose this hotel in particular.
There didn’t seem to be quite as many fish in the shallower areas of the sea as normal, but perhaps I’m just becoming more blasé about it! The boys were gob-smacked as this was their first real snorkelling holiday and were totally overawed by all the fish species they saw and are still talking about it and hoping to return for 2 weeks next time!!
We had booked interconnecting rooms with Thomson’s and I e-mailed ahead to the front desk to ask them that if interconnecting rooms were not available, please could we have rooms next to each other on an upper floor, somewhere quiet. We got our rooms next to each other, on an upper floor, but were right by the animation pool (which can be very noisy if you want to sleep in later than 10am or have an afternoon nap – luckily we don’t). The room was also very near the front of the restaurant where there is live music some nights and I did have to put ear plugs in one night – but it was finished by about 12midnight, so no real problems!
Most of the people I spoke to were on their 3rd or 4th visit to the TGA – so it really can’t be bad can it? Yes, there is some TLC needed in a few areas, but they are trying very hard to do this without closing the hotel. I wouldn’t hesitate to go back to this hotel and would highly recommend it for the staff and the food and as a really good place to have a holiday.
