“Best holiday”

We visted the hotel on the 23rd June and I could not fault it at all. We were 15 mins feom the hotel. as soon as we arrived someone took our bags and kept them safe while we checked in. checking in we found out we had been ungraded for free which was amazing. There was a great choice of food and the Chinese restaurant is a must eat it's amazing. The staff are fantastic, there is one bar man called kemo he is brill, friendly and always making people laugh. Entertainment staff were fab aswell. Amy and Joe from the group were always getting people dancing and keeping the vibe up there. we had a small problem with a shower and by the next day it was fixed and working so it showed us how quickly they deal with their problems. The hotel is located in a nice area there are a choice of English bars, restaurants and shops within 2 mins walk which is good. This hotel is amazing and we are going to book for next year x

We've just had our first ever holiday there ,the staff were all very helpfull ,our room was lovely .the meals were good ,just all together great , I realy want too return next year 15 ,but seem unable too make a booking ? All I get is no dates available !!!!!

Room Tip: Ask for a pool view ,near the lobby area .

See you Friday cant wait our 3rd time there looking forward to seeing the lovely staff brilliant weather good food, bar staff are very welcoming restaurant staff cant do enough for you, anyway see you all Friday

Room Tip: Yes a little dated but how muxh time do you actually spend in the room

Having stayed at Tropicana Grand Azure three times now and twice in one year..it has been just like our second home..we abolutley love it..we have booked to go again this November and take our friends..but having read lots if reviews recently it does not soubd good at all!! and are niw worried about going..we'v raved about how wonderful it is to be there to our friends..we knew changes were taking place when we were there last November/December but reading about it closing down for its referb is a worry!! We boiked with Thompsons as always but not heard from them regarding this..we dont want to get there to find we have to go to another hotel as we soo love the Azure..has anybody that has booked to go during this year heard anything at all? As we are counting the weeks to return to our favourite place ever with our friends..

We stayed here in June 14 really good welcome at reception we arrived late but still got food then we got our room which was really good next day we looked around found staff excellent with main restaurant plus four al carte you where spoilt for choice food brilliant yes could do with upgrade but it didn't spoil holiday for us yes would go back

We took our 4yr old son on his first foreign holiday from 11th May 2014 for 11nights. We have been to Egypt many times, each time staying at a different hotel so have a reasonable basis for our thoughts and opinions on this holiday. Egypt was chosen for its guaranteed weather, the excellent service the Egyptians always give and most importantly the outstanding standards a 4/5 star resort provides.
What a let down this was. Where to start? On arrival we were upgraded to a junior suite...how lovely....NO it really wasn't. The upgrade was to all Brits and was because the hotel was close to closing and massively under occupied. A vast resort and they simply didn't have the staff to keep it going so the solution was to have us all close to the lobby in the suites. The suites are old, tired and run down. They were filthy dirty, bathroom tiles broken, grout black and mouldy and the shower was rarely hot. The kettle was broken, the balcony furniture thread bare wicker which was dangerous to sit on and out room lock was hanging off leaving our little adventurer free to open the door and walk out. The staff were excellent...when we reported the furniture it was replaced in the blink of an eye. We were offered a room swap but the suite we were offered was identical in every way so we stayed. Needless to say that was wasted hours or our holiday.
Our son was given his own bed in an alcove in the suite....sorry no not a bed.... a mattress on the floor...i kid you not, no bed base just a mattress on the floor! I have never in all my years of holidaying seen anything like it, a pull out sofa bed or camp bed would have been more acceptable.
The hotel has the potential to be very grand, beautiful setting, vast resort, lovely beach etc etc but it has quite clearly not been maintained over at least a year. The pool floor in the main free form pool is rough, so mush so it bust the lilo after only an hour. The kids pool is much better with a tiled floor. The edges however are nothing short of a death waiting to happen. Broken concrete, missing grates, holes in the kids slide and so list goes on. These matters were reported but the hotel simply didn't have the staff to fix these things.
Management were lovely and appeared quite embarrassed over the hotel. They confirmed that bookings to other nationalities were stopped many many months ago and that the hotel was taken over back in Feb/March. The new owners are going to shut and completely refurbish but have kept the bookings from Brits for now. A disgrace to Thompson and First choice who are aware and should be cancelling or at least telling their customers the truth before going.

This was our 5th visit to this hotel, the hotel has changed a lot and was very quiet we think due to the closure in october ???Due to refurbishment. The staff havnt changed and will do all they can to help you.We were upgraded to a junior suite which everyone gets on arrival,we were able to use the aquarium restaurant as a matter of course no need to upgrade !! The annimation team were ok althogh bingo is hillarious in a foreign language haha. Amy was a little ray of sunshine every day, and did her best to get people together organising quizes etc. thompson and first choice are being very cagey about whats happening in this hotel we are due to return in september and are a bit worried as to what will be available to us and if the beach will be open, we do not like to sit by the pool as it is too hot.
