You'll either love it or hate it...but you'll more than likely hate it.

We visited Naama Bay on a Sharm El Sheikh City Tour with Sharm Smile.
Our guide Mohamed (the nicest guy in Sharm) dropped us off outside and gave us as long as we wanted, to go and check it out.

Before we had even got onto the street, we were approached by a guy who seemed genuine and somehow persuaded us to 'sign the guestbook of his new shop'
He tried to take us into a (what looked empty) building when we then politely...refused. All of a sudden he showed his true colours by getting quite angry and shouting at us, telling us that we were rude and what not. Don't know where he was trying to take us, but luckily that was the end of that and we were on the strip.

It didn't get much better. We we aware that were going to be hassled a bit coming to Egypt...but we weren't ready for this.
Constant, in your face, up your a*se, shouting, staring.
5 minutes passed and we were ready to leave.

I know it's their job...but it's horribly uncomfortable for those just passing through, wanting to simply see what the place is all about.

If you know what you want from Naama Bay (smoke/drink) and you know exactly what it's like here, I'm sure you could have a good night once you're settled somewhere.
However our experience wasn't at all pleasant and I wouldn't trust anyone there let alone recommend anyone to just pass by.

Luckily we text our guide after 10 minutes and met him, we moved on to our next stop...the peaceful grounds of the mosque which felt very calming. By all means do the City Tour, just ask Mohamed to accompany you and you'll feel much safer. Or just ask to skip Naama Bay completely.

Thank Lewis C

this was horrible until we went to tgi Fridays!! firstly I need to warn anyone especially young couples aged 18 to 21. we go out of our hotel taxi and straight away a non private taxi man tried to talk to me and my boyfriend we are both 19, he asked us to come and write something in English for him in his shop but first he was telling us about namma bay so when he said this we were a little confused, then we realised it was a con as someone else on this site has wrote about the same thing! we just said nope go find someone else we have read about this before go away and he was saying no misunderstanding which we just ignored and walked away as we knew it clearly wasn't as the shop he was taking us too looked abandoned shopping mall. then we was harassed by every shop keeper possible it was horrible some were friendly and some not so much! didn't feel safe at all as we had came before dark so not many people were out. men were really rude and would look at you as if you were a piece of meat if you are a young girl, also they would say things that my boyfriend found inappropriate! we found tgi Fridays and stayed their the whole night! it was amazing its not pricey and it was just amazing the food the service, everything!!! wouldn't ever go back their again worse than anywhere iv been and iv been to turkey which you get a lot of harassing from! the beach their was also horrible! its jus a terrible place and I wouldn't ever go back.

Firstly the bus drops you off right in front of a row of shops and before you can get off people are trying to sell you there cheap, tacky stuff.

The best part and the part I felt most safe was McDonalds the meals are much bigger than they are in UK!

Wouldn't go back in a hurry, horrible, smelly places full of Egyptian con men!

Naama bay itself has no culture but is just a strip of bars and shops purely there for tourists. Me and my partner did not enjoy the strip the staff would hassle you and rip you off unless you haggled with them before buying anything. The staff were rude and would even grab you. it's dirty, smelly and dare you go off the beaten track you feel unsafe because of the men constantly trying to get money off you in any way possible. I.e showing you somewhere they will demand a tip to the point where you feel scared. If you step in some shops your basically not allowed to leave unless you buy something. We decided to have a drink at one of the bars we bought two glasses of wine at £2 each which we
Settled before agreeing to go in when it came to paying at the end we gave the man £10 of egyptian money after waiting 15 minutes for our change we went to the bar to ask where it was to be told by the rude staff they didn't know what we were talking about and denied serving us! However if you are going to go for a drink go the montys bar as they don't hassle
You. We also went for a meal at the beach front to give that a go but sat there covered in flies watching cats sit on the counter where your food was being prepared! would avoid this place at all costs I don't know how it's even got one good review!! It's everything you would want to avoid in life! The only good thing about this place is the KFC and McDonald's which at the start of the holiday you think you will avoid, but after being toilet bound for pretty much the whole holiday you will no doubt enjoy it as much as we did!!!

Had an awful experience here. We had used our hotels taxi service to go here, when we got out of taxi man welcomed us and told us to remember our taxi driver as he would pick us and that we should meet him outside the police station which is at the entrance of naama bay. He told us he was part of the tourism board and worked with the tour operators he said he just moved into a new building and if we would write a note in English for them to put on display in the room. This is a trick beware, do not make the same stupid mistake we did. He was not an official person what so ever and just wanted us to buy his stuff and got very abusive when we said no, this man ruined the holiday for me and I did not feel safe to go in any shops after this. Beware of this man!
