You'll either love it or hate it...but you'll more than likely hate it.
We visited Naama Bay on a Sharm El Sheikh City Tour with Sharm Smile.
Our guide Mohamed (the nicest guy in Sharm) dropped us off outside and gave us as long as we wanted, to go and check it out.
Before we had even got onto the street, we were approached by a guy who seemed genuine and somehow persuaded us to 'sign the guestbook of his new shop'
He tried to take us into a (what looked empty) building when we then politely...refused. All of a sudden he showed his true colours by getting quite angry and shouting at us, telling us that we were rude and what not. Don't know where he was trying to take us, but luckily that was the end of that and we were on the strip.
It didn't get much better. We we aware that were going to be hassled a bit coming to Egypt...but we weren't ready for this.
Constant, in your face, up your a*se, shouting, staring.
5 minutes passed and we were ready to leave.
I know it's their job...but it's horribly uncomfortable for those just passing through, wanting to simply see what the place is all about.
If you know what you want from Naama Bay (smoke/drink) and you know exactly what it's like here, I'm sure you could have a good night once you're settled somewhere.
However our experience wasn't at all pleasant and I wouldn't trust anyone there let alone recommend anyone to just pass by.
Luckily we text our guide after 10 minutes and met him, we moved on to our next stop...the peaceful grounds of the mosque which felt very calming. By all means do the City Tour, just ask Mohamed to accompany you and you'll feel much safer. Or just ask to skip Naama Bay completely.
