“What a wonderful hotel!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 October 2013

Just returned back from a fantastic holiday at this luxurious hotel. You can't fail to be impressed the minute you arrive and it certainly has the WOW factor. We couldn't find fault with the hotel at all and it is immaculately clean, well designed and attractively laid out. The bedrooms are spacious and extremely comfortable and we were very happy with our room which had a great view over the relaxation pool towards the sea, nice. There is no problem at all in booking in at the Al a Carte restaurants and the food was of an excellent standard although we also found a good food choice at the main buffet too.

All the staff go out of their way to make sure you have a good time, they can't do enough for you and work extremely hard, all with a smile. We had a great holiday and it wouldn't have been the same without the special customer service you get here which is completely genuine. We won't be staying anywhere else when we return to Sharm! Thanks again. The Johnson family

This hotel is encouraging all guests to submit reviews which is why there are so many 1st time reviewers. It did make me a bit suspicious until I spoke to another guest who told me what was happening.

Our flight time was changed because of the recent unrest so we arrived at 9am. Reception couldn't have been more helpful and, unasked for, gave us a temporary room so we could shower, change and have a nap if we needed to.

The best asset this hotel has is it's staff. They are hard working, friendly and polite. After our first breakfast Faruq made sure we had a large teapot on the table each morning. Mahmoud from the beach restaurant was excellent, as were the beach attendants and all of the younger members of staff. Paola is an asset. The place was spotless and there were always members of staff cleaning something. It would be interesting to know if they can keep these standards up when the occupancy rate is higher.

15% occupancy while we were there but still impossible to get on the internet in the afternoon.

The building work is still going on on the lower level and is sometimes noisy when you want to sit on your balcony in the early evening for a drink. We stayed in Mangolia so it probably isn't a problem if you're on the higher level.

The food is not 5 star but it's fine. I guess because of the low guest numbers at the moment there are only 2 restaurants or the buffet restaurant to choose from. You need to book thorough the internet in reception so you need to get in quick. Through lack of choice we ate at the French restaurant twice, the same limited choice each time. That said my husband enjoyed his beef and the sea bass was nice, the creme brûlée was awful though, more like scrambled eggs and we couldn't eat it. The Thai was nice but vegetarians will struggle as there was only one main of vegetables in oyster sauce, though it was well done. Our favourite was the Indian, nice choice well cooked, we also ate here twice and my clear favourite. We both liked the breakfast and deliberately tried new things each day. Some of the offerings seem strange to British tastes but I guess some people out there fancy French fries or rice pudding for breakfast.

The location itself is lovely. Top of our requirements was the ability to snorkel each day and the fixed jetty makes it really easy. We suggested to the hotel that they increase the area you can swim under the eyes of the life guard. We watched an eagle swooping into the sea for fish and tiny hermit crabs wandering up the beach. There is a really interesting selection of shore life and the fish come in really close to the shore.

We travel a lot and have never returned to the same hotel twice but this time we might just do so.

Room Tip: If you book, for example a sea view room, and you're not happy with where they put you, say so a...

The management and staff at SUNRISE Grand Select Arabian Beach Resort take all the guests reviews very seriously and would like to advise that action will be taken in the areas that you pointed out in your review. As with most hotels we wish to know where we are performing to a high standard and the areas we can improve, therefore as stated in your review we kindly ask our guests to write any reviews when they return back home. Not only that our Guest Service Center staff are always asking our guests during their stay for any comments or suggestions they may have.

With regards to the Internet connection, our IT team are working constantly on improving the connection wherever they can and are always happy to visit our guests should they experience any problems during their stay.
We are currently working on completing the lower level rooms near to the beach and also the villa however we try where possible to keep the noise levels low so as not to disturb our guests during their stay, our security staff are also present in the areas in order to try to help maintain this.
We are sorry to hear that your experience in the French restaurant was not as expected, our staff are committed to try to give our guests the best possible service and food quality as possible. Had you have bought the Creme Brulee taste to the waiters attention they would have kindly exchanged this for a fresh one. This has been passed to our Food and Beverage Director to improve the taste of our creme brulee.
Despite the areas which were not as expected we are happy that you enjoyed your stay with us and hope that you will return in the very near future so that we can host your good selves once again and make your stay an improved and more enjoyable stay.

I've been to 8 different hotels in Sharm including 2 other Sunrise hotels, this hotel definitely ranks the best among them. This hotel definitely deserves to be in the top 10 hotels in Sharm, #21 rank at the moment is an understatement.

Luxurious rooms, fantastic food in 7 different restaurants serving Indian, Thai, Mangolian, Italian and French managed by foreigner chefs from each country. All included in the all inclusive package with prior reservation required. No extra costs for drinks, you can also order espresso almost in any restaurant all over the place.

Great animation team where English is the main entertainment language, lots of nice activities.

The hotel is not just about friendly staff that would do anything for you to serve you at their best, but also friendly and nice guests where you actually enjoy the company and doing activities with!

Well if you are willing to pay a little bit extra than other Sharm hotels and get much more than what you paid for and enjoy a fantastic romantic vacation then this is the place for you.

Love the friendly stuff there, Mr. Alp, the Turkish hotel manager is a very nice and decent man and is doing a great job. Karam is the best front desk person i've seen before, i checked in while seated in the lobby using the wet towels and enjoying my welcome drink. Oksana, was a really beautiful person who is very passionate about her work in the animation team and was a great company. Ghany makes the best iced cocktails at the pool bar with fresh juices and fresh mint, lemon, no sugary syrups. I can't remember every name but all the restaurant managers where nice guys too...

Make no further research and book your room right away ;)

Room Tip: Swim-up room with a shared private pool.... or if you want to avoid the stairs take a room by the ma...

Before I describe this perfect Hotel, let me start by telling all you folk silly enough to avoid going to Sharm el Sheik because of the Cairo situation that Egypt is a huge country, 4 times the size of the U.K. & the distance between Cairo & Sharm is a 6 hour 500km journey. You WILL NOT see any trouble what so ever in this BEAUTIFUL Red Sea holiday resort. Because of the Cairo situation, most European countries have stopped their tourist boards from selling Package Holidays to Sharm and other Red Sea resorts. Because of this, at the moment the majority of tourists are from the U.K. and the few that aren’t Brits are other Egyptians, a few Russians & Italians who have sorted their own travel arrangements. The German tourist board are opening their gates from 30th September 2013
My Experience of this hotel, was nothing short of excellent, it is by far the finest hotel I have stayed in, more than worthy of its 5 star rating. I have stayed in Sharm twice before in top rated hotels, but nothing matches the Sunrise Grand Select Arabian Beach Resort.
From entering the hotel grounds, past security into the hotel lobby, we never touched the reception desk. Instead we were told to take a seat at a table in the lobby, and were offered a cold drink & cold flannel to freshen up. Our details were taken and within 5 minutes, after leaving our baggage in reception we were given a guide on the hotel on our way to our room. The hotel is built on 4 levels which run from reception down to the beach so there are steps between each level, but don’t let this concern you, because a phone call away is a porter driven golf buggy that whizzes you to where ever you want to go via a sloping path that runs down the side of the hotel.
Our room was a swim up room (read later in review); it was air conditioned, huge, high standard & spotlessly clean with 2 double beds, a patio with 2 comfortable sunbeds. It had a large flat screen T.V., ample storage space, 2 Bathrobes & 2 pair of slippers.
The Hotel has more than enough pools & you could claim sunbeds anytime of the day, although the hotel was only 25% full due to the political drama in Cairo.
The Hotel has a fully equipped air conditioned gym, it’s own diving centre for those who want to try a scuba dive and 6 “A la Carte” restaurants all that can be booked from your mobile phone when you log onto the hotels FREE Wi-Fi network or you can either reserve via a touch screen monitor at reception or through the concierge service.
I was unsure at first on the issue on how/when or even if I should tip the staff. I can say you get treated better if you just put an English pound coin their way every now and then. We spent a week here & between us we spent a total of £45 in tips, (the Egyptians wage is next to nothing). Some advice I can offer is catch your room cleaner early in your holiday and offer them a small tip and ask for fresh water to be put in your fridge daily. You’ll get some nice sculptures made from towels made on your bed sometime during your holiday. Oh yes and no more hanging flimsy paper “do not disturb” signs over your door handle which can be removed by anyone, there is a button you press near your bed which illuminates a light outside your door. Remember to press this after a busy day relaxing round the pool, otherwise you’ll be getting a knock on the door from staff wanting to turn your bed sheets back & offering you a chocolate mint early evening, while you’re getting ready to go out again!
One thing you must do if you stay here is hire a Cabaña on the beach for a day (about £20) which has your own fridge and lockable storage, 2 comfortable beds in the shade, & 2 more beds in the sun, waiter service & unbelievably Wi-Fi on the beach! ……. "Livin' la Vida Loca"
If you can navigate through Trip Advisor, then you will find out (last time I read) that this Hotel is rated 21st out of 230 hotels in Sharm, which is a remarkable achievement seeing though it has only been open just over 12 month and is competing with hotels that have been open 3 & 4 years. Given a little more time it definitely will be a top 5 hotel, when more people take the time to give this place the excellent reviews it deserves.
The Hotel is positioned 25 minute drive from the hustle of Naama Bay & 10 minutes from the modern enviroment of Soho square (hotel do a free shuttle bus to Soho)
All the staff work tirelessly to make sure you enjoy your stay, so it’s hard to single out any individual, but have to mention the staff that stood out when we was there.
From the animation team, the beautiful Russian Anastasia, always stops and has time to talk with you whether you want to join in the exercise/games or not and can speak English excellently (you can’t miss her, the first thing you see is her ear to ear smile. Next Randy (from The Philippines) – Food & Beverages manager, It seemed which ever A la Carte restaurant we chose to eat he was there directing the smooth operation of the staff. Next A.Ghany the poolside waiter at the main pool (Man United fan – so give him some stick), who made sure you always had a drink by your side (he could knock up some pretty neat cocktails). And finally Mohammed (wears glasses) who worked tirelessly sometimes single handed in the Churchill Bar.

If you are brave enough to book a week before you go & build the holiday yourself and don’t do the package holiday with the major travel agents, (think only Thomas Cook do this hotel) you can save yourself a packet. We booked a flight only with Thompson Airways, a private transfer with A to B airport taxis (only £24 return, it saves you doing the rounds of Sharm dropping all other passengers before yourself) and then we booked the hotel accommodation via Expedia.co.uk. We booked an upgrade to an Adults only Swim up Room with Expedia which cost an extra £27 per night per room. The price at reception is £38 per night per room. The swim up rooms are 3rd level down from reception and can be a hike up the steps for some folk, but there is the porter driven golf buggy if you want it. All the different blocks of apartments in the hotel are named after flowers We stayed in the Mangolia block (sure it should have said Magnolia). The Mangolia (I’ll say it their way) block is a 3 tier block which is North facing and our patio was out of direct sunlight all day.
All in all if I can get this at a near similar price next year “I’LL BE BACK”

This was by far the best holiday I have ever been on! Came on the 15th June 2013 with my mum. Had a room which was right on the edge of one of the pools, beautiful! Animation team, especially Ushe, were so helpful and fun! Looked after us very well. Didnt get the chance to eat in all the restaurants which was a little disappointing. The staff would do anything to ensure our stay was the best ever.
Cant wait to return! Zoe and Doreen Potter :)

Me and my girlfriend travelled to this hotel in July for 2 weeks and had the best holiday!

1. We loved all the restaurant especially the Indian being our favourite, the main buffet was okay however not much of a choice (in our option)

2. The rooms were amazing! The beds were really comfortable and there was loads of space. We had a beautiful sea room which was close to the beach which was lovely.

3. We would like to say a massive thank you to the animation team for making our holiday extremely fun and interesting! They are all so lovely and worked so hard, when we read the bad comment about the team we was shocked, they are amazing and couldn't do enough to make sure we had a great time, we really enjoyed the shows of an evening and always joint in.

4. The cleaner of our room was so helpful and did an amazing job! We was so thankful for all the wine and cake that was given to us when we got back to our room.

We recommend everyone to go to this hotel we had an amazing time and couldn't of asked for a more relaxing holiday, we will defiantly be coming back!
