“one of the best hotels in Sahrm el Sheikh”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 June 2014

the hotel is really good from all aspects and the staff is very helpful. Service quality actually means something in this hotel. the one and only downside for me in this hotel is that it is quite large and you have to travel some distances back and forth between the pool, beach, your room and the reception. This is the reason I gave it a 4 stars rating; we are a family of four with kids and it was a bit hectic to keep walking all these distances everyday especially with a baby. Other than that everything was perfect.

Room Tip: if you are a family with kids or cannot walk long distances, try to get your room close to the eleva...

We have just returned from the savoy and went as 3 couples. We had an amazing time, all the restaurants have extremely good quality food and we all had personal favourites. Mine was the steakhouse. The staff were unbelievable in terms of service especially Zak round the pool and Taha at the rocky pool bar. If you need any help while on the beach the lifeguard Mohammad is always there to help and nothing is too much trouble. We had an amazing time and will return soon. This is our third trip and can't wait for the next one. Thank you to everyone at the savoy for a fab holiday.

Room Tip: We choose the sea view rooms as good location In between beach and soho square.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your “ Amazing ” words. It’s lovely to hear that you really enjoyed your 03rd holiday with us and we are very pleased that you have highlighted some of the staff for specific praise.

We invest a lot of time and effort into food preparation in the Savoy Group and we are renowned for having some of the best restaurants in Sharm El Sheikh. We offer the best quality products which have been carefully sourced locally and internationally to ensure the best finished product. Our chefs are ex-pats so that when you eat at our Mai Thai restaurant for example, the head chef is Thai and so it goes for all the other authentic foreign cuisines available in Soho Square and the Savoy - 14 à la carte restaurants in total. We have never compromised our quality in order to reduce prices and we never will. Our discerning clientele demands the best and we give them just that.

Your kind words and thanks will be passed on to the staff you mentioned and they will receive points towards some nice prizes in our staff motivation scheme. They will be very happy to get the mention on this forum too.

We are fortunate in that we have a lot of repeat guests and their word-of-mouth recommendation is arguably one of our best marketing tools. And now we have another – welcome to this elite club.

We look forward to seeing you again soon.

Kind regards,

Jacques PETER

This was our third stay in four years and didn't disappoint. Wonderful staff, fantastic food served with pride. Added bonus of Soho square right outside hotel with more fantastic restaurants and entertainment. Little touches like iced refreshing towels brought round on a tray at the beach just give it that extra touch. Love !

Dear Reviewer,

A wonderful title for a fantastic review. Thank you for sharing your experiences with the readers on this forum – it provides them with independent comment and it provides us with important feedback.

The Savoy and Soho Square offer guests a unique experience. The luxury of a hotel and resort with its own private beach fronting the Red Sea and the buzz of a square mile of restaurants, bars, discos and shopping. It's the place to be and to be seen. By day, enjoy sunbathing, swimming or the best scuba diving in the world. In the evening, be part of the excitement in Soho Square, the centre of the town's nightlife.

Thank you again, and we look forward to seeing you on your 04th trip to Savoy Group!

Best Regards,

Jacques PETER

Perfect hotel for families and couples. The service is second to none whether it be the bar, restaurants or pool bar.

Our room was a suite, perfect size for the two of us. A very helpful house keeping staff looking after us. Lovely beds, fridge stocked daily. Nice bathroom although a tad dated plumbing.

We were a five min walk to pool/ Soho Square but both young people so not really an issue. Aside from waiting times at some dining areas no issues, every place we ate had delicious food everywhere. I am surprised I didn't return a stone heavier!

The staff here were polite, helpful and some went out of there way to provide us with assistance.

The Thai restaurant was so good, as was the Indian, Hot Rock, Italian, Sushi bar and Chinese!!! Yes we ate nearly everywhere in the 10 days ;-)

We had a few excursions with the sales team in the hotel. All fine except in Egypt being on time isn't top priority with trips. We had a desert safari trip, lots of fun! And water park let us be big kids for the day :-)

The pool bars were lovely, and the rocky one nice and cosy in the evenings, had sheesha a few times.

My other half was enjoying Safari Bar and the cigars! I loved that bar, think we visited every night. Right ambience.

Despite there being a freak storm when we stayed, the hotel managed to keep the guests happy. We were just told everyone had to dine in the main restaurant due to power outages. It meant everyone had one day holed up in their rooms, but you can't control the weather!

Um what else, I used the spa, had a scrub which was lovely, definitely recommend paying for that, also a free massage again very enjoyable. The hot tub steam room etc not all that but I only visited it twice so no big deal. Also a well equipped gym, just needs better A/C.

I think the only negative thing is sales people trying to get you to buy beauty treatments, excusrions, diving etc. I know it's their job but they go around and ask you, then another guy walks around and asks you... I just want to relax without the hassle. I only need to know where I can book these things then can go in my own time. It's not constant, so please don't let you put you off. It's just annoying that they see a new guest and approach with offers.

All in all I would love to return, the grounds are beautiful and well maintanied, the staff very attentive and helpful, the choice of dining, and level of food quality is second to none. The restaurant managers and concierge team are all very proud and it shows. I loved the Savoy, hope to see it again next year :-)

Room Tip: A suite is very well worth it

I have just returned from a weeks holiday with my friend at the Savoy and the experience and service at this hotel are excellent. The staff are the biggest asset to the hotel and work so hard and long hours to ensure the place runs to a high standard. They are extremely friendly, helpful, well presented and attentive. The hotel is spotless and so well run. The transfer is also a plus literally 10 minutes from the airport and without the noise of planes going over.

We choose the S class all inclusive package and by far this was the best value for money. The choice of restaurants and bars were very good and the selection of food and drinks on offer were vast. You also had a number of other perks with this as mentioned in previous reviews.

We would like to say thank you to all of the staff at the Savoy for making our holiday fantastic. A special thanks to Ahmed in the barbers, Bahar who was one of the lifeguards by the pool. The rest of the poolside staff especially the guys in the bar at the middle pool (apologies can only remember Atef's name) but always brought us a bottle of water to our sun loungers without asking every morning. A big thank you to Wilson and his colleagues who were so pleasant and polite and supplied us with lovely drinks in the safari bar.The customer relation ladies and the Operators in the business centre, who we kept going to with our WiFi issues! Not forgetting Fox from the excursions company who did not hassle you to go on excursions but was so friendly every day! This is the service you get at a fantastic hotel such as the Savoy.

We will be returning and recommending the hotel to others

Many Thanks

Dear Guest,

I’m so pleased you enjoyed your holiday with us and will certainly return. Thank you for choosing the Savoy and for the ““Fab-u-lous Hotel” feedback concerning our staff and the quality of service.

Our staff are one of our best assets and we all work hard to ensure that they have the best working conditions possible and then the best facilities to enjoy when they finish their day’s work. I’m glad they served you well.

Our S-Class ultra all inclusive plan is a unique concept in the area. This entitles you to eat and drink in any of our restaurants and bars throughout the Savoy and Soho Square. You will also benefit from free vouchers for the spa, bowling, (yes, we have a 6 lane ten-pin bowling alley behind the British pub) and Culturama – our panoramic cinematic history of Egypt. And Soho Square is a great entertainment centre to have on the doorstep. Restaurants to suit all budgets and shops to browse around, entertainment on every night. It’s a great place.

I’m so pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us and I would like to thank you for taking the time to write such a positive review. We look forward to seeing you again soon.

Kind regards,

Jacques PETER

If you enjoy good food, about 17 restaurants to chose from, imported spirits, a good selection of wine, brilliant service the savoy all inclusive S Class is for you.

The hotel itself is ok, nothing really out of the ordinary. Our room was showing it's age and the bathroom was certainly in need of some tlc. But we really only slept in our room, so it didn't really matter. And bathed I guess!

The Savoy is all about Soho Square. It's about 100 metres from the front reception and the square comes alive at night, attracting bus loads of tourists who come to dine at one of the many restaurants, drink at the bars or just take in the entertainment.

The staff at the hotel offer a v polite, first class service. You hear: "it's my pleasure" uttered after you ask for just about anything. So well trained.

The safari bar in the main hotel is great for a late night drink - I quenched my thirst on many a cosmopolitan - that was my pleasure.

Pools and grounds well kept, but I do wish they'd dispense with ridiculous towel cards.

Sea food restaurant is outrageously great for lunch. Sameh and saoud are the best waiters in all the world.
Just lovely to take time out from serious sunbathing to enjoy beautiful Red Sea prawns and a glass of fizz - ok, at least 3 glasses.

The ONE aspect I absolutely detested was the gala dinner. Ok, so there was a rather lithe and bouncy (!) belly dancer, but the food... It was 5 inedible courses. We complained and waiter was wonderful at dealing with our dissatisfaction and offered us anything from the Italian nearby - I had an irresistible plate of beef cappuccino.

We stayed at The Savoy for 5 lovely nights then upgraded to scrummy The Royal Savoy for the remaining 6 nights of our holiday. If interested see my separate review.

A quick add: don't book airport transfers, ask the hotel who provide free shuttle service - the airport is only 10 mins away.

One thing I know about the Savoy is: we will be back. It's so vvvvv good and ticks all our merry boxes.
