After reading reviews i was a bit worried about staying at this hotel but i didnt need to be it was a fab holiday,we were a family of eight four adults and four children and the hotel staff treat us like royalty nothing was too much trouble for them i have to say the restaurant staff were amazing the food good, ahmed especially he never stopped making sure everything was ok for us we wanted to adopt him, we are liverpool supporters and we got teased all the time by abdo who is sooooo cheeky but it was great fun,the entertainment staff were also great nour and romeo who the children adored and 2 new staff started jamie who is so much fun wish we had more time to spend with her, can i just say the bar with the pool table was the only let down the manager has an attitude problem and acouple of the staff also, the bar closes at 11 and we went to get drinks and they said we were only allowed 1 well i am sorry but i am not paying all inclusive to be told i can only have one drink in a tiny plastic party cup at last orders the manager thought this was funny and was quite rude to me my husband stepped in and told him not to be rude after that everything was fine we got bigger glasses every time we went in so just be warned that this is the only downside but all in all it was a good holiday .

We stayed at the Jasmine club at the end of June, very hot but welcome. very warm welcome from staff, we had missed the evening meal due to flight delay but there was food left in our room for us on arrival - cheese, bread, jam etc
our room was just a few steps away from the pool, very clean fantastic shower room, no problems at all. aircon was effective.
the room was cleaned daily with fresh towels daily.
the meals were ok, nothing amazing but we could fine something to eat. The Jasmine dinning room was full of Brits queing up for thier pizza and chips and very busy, the Rosetta was quieter and catered more for Egyptians we found this dinning room better.
the italian was good, we went twice.
We dont usually bother with the welcome meeting but im glad we did this time - the rep, Sayeed, is excellent, even lent us his iron! very knowledgeable.
the hotel is about 10mins walk from the beach - viva beach, which is not worth the walk! there are much better public beaches if you want to snorkle and see the reef; your A/L is not extended to the beach which i think is poor.
The staff are great, very helpfull on the whole
i would not stay here again because of the beach and the location - we went to Egypt to snorkle and arnt bothered about the clubs, shops etc but the hotel is fine no problems at all.
Our last 3 days were spoilt by some selfish Brits (4 young couples) who thought it was ok to run around screaming and phoning peoples rooms at 3am, (waking young children and older people without a thought) however security will act on complaints if you are unlucky enough to be staying when such selfish thoughtless people are also staying!

Room Tip: we had room 2315 it was right near the pool and had a lovely shower it was quite untill the selfish...

Like many others and recommendation from Falcon holidays we booked this hotel as our first time to Egypt. We travelled as a family with 4 year old daughter and 1 year old son.
On arriving at the hotel we were welcomed warmly. Then the fun began with the steep hike up ramps with our pushchair. This wasn't fun after a 6 hour flight and to do it everyday day and then the 52 steps ( yes we counted them) 6 times everyday to the dining room, we were not expecting this.
Our room was at the bottom pool which i had emailed the hotel previously and requested a ground room which was granted. The room was spotlessly clean.
On our arrival My husband then went to the Jasmine Club and asked the barman would there be any chance of getting our baby's bottle filled with milk for our son as he had drank all his on the flight and the barman said yes but it would cost him £4.50 and my husband showed him the all inclusive band and he still insisted that he would have to pay. My husband left and went to the shop by the hotel and bought 1 litre of milk for £1.60. This immediately gave us a terrible impression.
As stated before the food was edible but much of the same thing all the time. We expected to be trying flavoursome Egyptian food but that was not to happen.
Don't get me started on the Entertainment team, these are the biggest waste of space i've ever seen. Egotistical bunch of people !! As stated on the brochure we had expected a kid's club for our 4 year old daughter, not looking to dump her with people but for even 1 hour a day get her in out of the 39 degree heat and meet some other children. This was not to happen until i complained into our second week and was looked at as though i had 10 heads and was told that they were very busy entertaining at the top pool. I complained to her manager then and then it changed!! But when the children then were called for the kid's club they were taken to a shaded bit of grass outside someone's room for 1 hour of colouring pages. It was disgraceful!!
Again as stated before, the restaurant staff are a credit to the Hotel and the bottom pool barman Ahmed is a gem. And these are the people who make the hotel a bit more enjoyable.
And my biggest complaint goes to the bellboy who came to collect our cases on the last day!! When he arrived to collect them we were very busy making sure we had everything . He proceeded to get the bags and wait at the door for his tip. My husband handed him all the Egyptian coins he had which equated to approx 12 egyptian pounds , he stood by my husband counted the money in front of us and looked at my husband. My husband told him that was all we had left and he said " i suppose that will have to do". I was utterly disgusted considering these people do nothing all holiday to help you and just want more and more.
Good points: Sayed Thomson rep is a gentleman and true to his word.
Restaurant staff and bottom pool barman are the best.
I would never go back to this hotel as long as my children are young but may suit couples.
And we would never go back to Sharm but that is a different story about the airport.....threatening bunch of scammers

Room Tip: 2104 bottom pool and 10 metres from the pool

we booked this hotel after reading the good reviews on here, so feel it necessary to add our comments to give a different view on it.
first impressions not good. booked into a room near the top pool. it was scruffy and the bath had a big crack and hole in the side. air con didnt work either. to their credit they freed the blocked filters quickly and it worked again. the area had a smell of sewage a lot of the time, and sometimes when we walked into our room, the air con had dragged it in and the room stank.
the food was poor. really poor. it was a very basic buffet with hardly anything we liked, altho i realise thats subjective to taste. plenty of fruit, but the hot meals were just bland with poor selection. puddings were the usual pastries and blancmangey type cakes that these hotels seem to do.
drinks from the restaurant were ok, but the pool bar and the jasmine club, which was just like a basic cafe type room, were awful. little plastic cups half filled with cheap spirit and topped up with warm fizzy drinks, and the beer was just gassy 'beer flavoured water'. again, maybe that should be expected at this class of hotel, but it just wasnt enjoyable for us.
we had read about tipping and giving them english pounds as they prefer that, but they didnt seem overly excited at being offered them, and indeed, it didnt seem to improve the service we got. so we may have got that wrong.
entertainment was lacking too. do not come here if you have smaller children that are used to kids clubs etc, theres nothing like that. i believe a kids play area is advertised on the website, but apparently they 'changed their minds' and i think its going to be a beauty salon or something. apart from that theres stretching and water aerobics in the morning, water polo in the afternoon. the evening entertainment was just getting blokes to dress as women, or karaoke or things like that. no real performers or shows.
i see this place as somewhree to have a base maybe if you went out doing other things, but we found the outside of the hotel even worse. we had been told to expect hassle from the locals as you walked about but didnt dream it would be so bad. as soon as you leave the hotel youre approached by taxi drivers, shopkeepers and they dont seem to take no for an answer. we were abused by some for not going in their shops, but we'd heard so man horror stories that we were scared to in some cases. as the week went on we heard of cases of people being locked in shops until they had given their money over, and also....... be careful not to get on a camel!! one bloke we spoke to wanted his picture taken in front of one, and the camel owner told him to sit on it while it was laid down. as soon as he sat on it, up goes the camel and hes not allowed off the camel til hes handed over £50!! thats ENGLISH pounds, not egyptian!! and he said its worse in naama bay where they try that trick and it costs £100!! the walkway to naama bay is just a constant barrage of shopkeepers and restaurant owners trying to get you in, and they just keep hassling. we thought we'd go the main road way to avoid it one night, but that was worse. fairly dark and not many people about, but as you walk along, locals cross the road to get to you and keep hassling you. we told them we werent interested but they walked along with you asking your details. even small kids were doing this. very unsettling. i realise some may cope easier with this sort of thing but we hated it, and felt like prisoners in the hotel. which when you dont enjoy being there was awful.
we had imagined sharm to be walking along the beach, laying on the sand and swimming in the sea, but there was none of this for us. the hotels tiny allocated beach is a good 10 minute walk away, through the locals, and you arent allowed your own food and drink, only their own, which of course was expensive. the rest of the bay was allocated to other hotels, so you werent allowed to go on unless you paid.
thomsons did some trips, but theyre cheaper to go with the locals outside the hotel. we just didnt trust them enough tho, so went with thomsons for more money. the vip boat cruise was a litttle underwhelming too. 3 snorkel stops but i was expecting far more from it. this being sharm, where you go for the best diving and snorkelling, i was expecting sholas of fish all over the coral, but there didnt seem to be that many really. maybe ive been spoilt by snorkelling in thailand before where this is the case. i was hoping for 'WOW', but it was just ok really and the crew didnt seem to have any fun with you and make it an enjoyable experience.
one decent day out is the water park behind the hotel, we enjoyed the slides and wave pool there.
yes, we hated our holiday here, but ill finish with two areas where this hotel excelled. firstly the restaurant staff. excellent. always looked after you and had a joke with you. the staff here are great, its just a poor hotel. the main credit tho is the thomsons rep sayed. hes excellent. lived in sharm for a good few years and his welcome speech was informative, and he assured us that he could sort out any problems we had, and give advice on anything at all. he was as good as his word. we've been with thomsons before and usually their reps have seemed to be a bit useless really, but sayed is a class apart. he filled us with confidence that anything could be sorted out. he deserves a better hotel than this really.
like i said at the start, im just amazed at all the good reviews here. im fairly sure there will be more bad reviews shortly because time after time whilst talking to people they said the same thing. booked it cos of the reviews but theyre going to come on here and tell it how it really is when they get home. time will tell if this actually happens :-) some had been to egypt 5 or 6 times and said this was the worst hotel theyd had so far. they all agreed about the poor food (we had dodgy tummies, most of them did during their stay at some point too), lack of entertainment and the rude, aggressive locals scamming you all the time, altho i realise this part is out of the hotels control.
we'll never go back to naama bay, or sharm in fact. we'll have to do our research on other areas to see what the locals are like, but for our first experience, we feel like we dont want to go to egypt again. we never want to experience anything like this again. its been our holiday wasted this year.

Room Tip: ground floor by the lower pool seems best option.

first impressions were ok but then once we walked to the jasmine (english head quarters) it was a lot better. the rooms was spotless, the pool was amazing.
staff abdo and ahmed were fantastic they could not do enough for us.
food did become a little tideous during our second week but food outside was cheep enough anyway, the onsite italian (mamma mia) was a let down , would advise any one to give it a miss
i would recommend this hotel for anyone wanting a cheap onsite holiday and if your someone who is going to be picking and point out all the bad stuff, go else where.
