“week in the sun”
Reviewed 6 May 2014

Although hotel is not a 5 star it ticked all the boxes for us. We had a big room with a garden view and 4 poster bed. Wasnt far to one of the Adult pools where the Pool bar staff (BoB) provided you with regular cold drinks at your sunbed. Plenty space around your sun beds. Food was good always plenty of choice in main dining room and also the free / discounted bars and restaurants in Soho Square. Staff very helpful and friendly. Would come back the next time we need a lie down in the sun for a week

2nd time to the Sierra and already booked again for Christmas 2014, We had lovely rooms by the Sunset Pool. Rooms very spacious, all have nice views and the cleaners work very hard. All bar staff are very friendly and like to share a joke, The food in the restaurant is varied and there was always something to eat. Bonus is being so close to Soho Square. We regularly frequented the Queen Vic, Akuna Matata and Café Chino,
Reception staff are very good and happy to help with anything, Thanks to Moller and Islam for sorting our rooms. Also thanks to Bob for making us laugh and testing my brain with his maths questions. Not easy after a couple of wines. Should also mention Sothby, Ehab and Balell.
Overall great hotel with good facilities, give it a try.

Room Tip: All rooms OK.

This is the second time we have been to this hotel, things have changed since we were last here they have added 2 extra pools and new apartments and a new snack bar area it looks really nice. The staff are amazing and really look after you nothing is to much trouble for them and they always have a smile for everybody. Soho square has been built up as well since we were last here with shops a plenty, you also get to eat and drink in the square as part of the all inclusive which is good, it just makes a change to eat somewhere different. You also get a free shoulder massage a game of ten pin bowling and ice skating entrance so yes the changes are good. Sadly the only down side was that the food wasn't as good this time round and not as much choice, but there was always something you could have. We just want to say a big thank you to the staff who were wonderful and really made our stay excellent.

Room Tip: Block 3 is one of the better blocks and its right near to the quite pool.

first of all the room was so small also the bathroom where u can barely stand in! , according to food , breakfast was nice but lunch &dinner were the same with no variety.
the main pool was so cold that the kids couldn't swim in it & we couldn't let the kids walk freely in the hotel because of the oasis pool
one of our towls was stoolen while we were swimming in the pool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
the night show was very boring and vulgar but the good thing that u can get out to soho square .
the worst thing happened at the departure day, at 11:45 a.m we found somebody knocking at the door telling us that we should leave the room!!,that had never happened with us at any hotel ever before>
the good thing about it was the beach &soho square.

Sierra Sharm is part of the Savoy group and is situated diagonally opposite the Savoy on Soho Square * which is near the airport but there was little noise to speak of.

Having spoken to many guests who'd been to hotels in Sharm before, the general consensus seems to be that they are all of a good high standard and this one is no exception and offered us outstanding value.

Food is a bit of a hit-and-miss affair but there is always plenty to choose from. Bottled water is available in your room all the time and ice in drinks and washed salads all use bottled water too, so are ok.

Rooms are spacious with large bathrooms and even larger shower cubicles but they all seemed to have small balconies - ours was overlooking the adult pool and bar and faced the sun through to mid afternoon - some are in shady enclaves.

Might be worth noting that all the housekeeping is done by male staff and if you have kids, then muse over the 'Super Mario style' groundsman.

The hotel layout is a bit sprawling so it takes a while to get your bearings with pools and bars scattered around. We always found a bed by one of the pools but the shuttle service to and from their own private beach expands your options. Free beds, food and beverages are offered there too on the AI package with the extra bonus of having pontoons out to coral reefs where the snorkelling was as good as anywhere.

If you want to enjoy all these extras including ice skating, bowling, spa services, free entertainment, drinks and meals at bars and restaurants throughout Soho Square too, then upgrade your package.

Don't bother with 'Guest Services' though, as their only role appears to be to direct you to Reception where the staff there are excellent. Any issues you have, they're the ones to help you. Nothing is too much trouble.

It's the general ambience of this hotel that will make your holiday although some staff are encouraged to be somewhat over-friendly. We'll definitely be going back though.

* Dr Who fans take note, you may feel slightly uncomfortable at the sheer proliferation of statues of every theme and whimsy in Soho Square which beggars sanity with its general decor being both quite mad and quite wonderful at the same time!

Room Tip: Most of the hotel is only 1 storey high. Ground floor rooms open out onto a patio which offers more...

We have been here twice and had amazing holidays both times. Our family whom we went with first time also return reguarly.

What makes it are the facilities, the hotel has beautiful pools, kids clubs, golf, chess, entertainment. Soho square on your door step has cinema, bowling, soft play, cool bars, shops, and a bazaar.

The food in the hotel is average which is a bit of a shame as its honestly the only negative, if they just improved a bit it would be a true 5* experience. That said you can use some of the resteraunts in Soho square included in the all inc package and the resteraunts in the Savoy accross the road at a discount. Its great getting out and about and being all inclusive!

We didnt like Naama Bay (got the free hotel bus once or twice there) and based on what we have seen we would never stay there. We were soo lucky to have found Soho Square, its so clean and stylish and no hassle!

I have recommended this place to many people, book it - you will not regret! Make sure you get your Soho vouchers on arrival (free cineama, bowling etc). The chinese and Indian on Soho square are amazing! and with the discount very reasonable. Hot rocks (cook your own steak) and the italian at the Savoy are incredible a must try!

Room Tip: If your not happy with your room ask to move. Some descriptions of room types vary so if you are not...

we are still here after 10 days and loving it - EXCELLENT staff in all areas, good linen, activities daily for those inclined and a short walk to lovely, naturally preserved Red Sea beach, with regular hotel bus trips if you don't wish to walk uphill - it is, however, very easy to walk to - the pools are great and clean and although we are not the greatest fans of 'all inclusives' we both agree that the food here is consistently good and fresh, we are delighted and looking forward to the rest of our stay - this hotel is in the Soho Square complex which also includes The Savoy and Royal Savoy hotels, the activities nightly are incredibly varied, from Chinese acrobatic teams, to sand painting, full bands, oriental musicians etc, a superb venue for couples and/or families

Room Tip: all rooms are well laid out, and the only area that has music is also somewhat nestled by the pool a...
